We took a great boat ride to cabbage key and stopped to have lunch here. The food was amazing! I had the shrimp salad sandwich and it was delicious!!! Our waitress was Carol and we loved her. Great service. Beautiful location.

We had the best time and received the best service on Labor Day weekend! It's always so fun coming to Cabbage Key. Our waitress was Angie and she was very polite and helpful. If you come, you have to get the Cabbage Creeper. It's a rite of passage! We will be coming back for years to come!

For my husbands birthday weekend we drove down to Ft Meyers for the weekend. We took a boat over to Cabbage Key Island for lunch. Beautiful, amazing perfect ambiance. Very exclusive since you can only arrive by boat. The food was good and when I told our server it was my husbands birthday the guy single the live music kicked it off an everyone joined in. It was awesome!!!

If you enjoy boating, the ride to and from Cabbage Key is the ticket. Less than an hour each way through beautiful waters, around the Private Useppa Island, and past the state park Caya costa, you arrive to the shelter Harbor of historic cabbage key. The staff is so friendly, the food is good, watch the tortoises play... Enjoy your life... It's a day you'll remember !

We took the boat tour ro this island and had lunch at this restaurant that gets veeeeeeery busy around lunch time. It's a very tiny island and this is the only restaurant. We had a great time enjoying our meal with live music and a beautiful view on a Saturday afternoon. Food is ok. Like bar food. Not many vegetarian or healthy options but their vegetarian burger was pretty tasty They are dog friendly!

This restaurant is only accessible by boat and has such a cool history. The place was absolutely packed with folks having food and drinks. Since everything is brought in a boat, it is on the pricer side but it's expected being out in the middle of the ocean! The one dollar bills all over the walls are iconic and their Cabbage Creppers definitely sneak up on you. While we were there they also had live music.

Love a restaurant that I take a boat as my transportation. The grounds are beautiful and it's lovely to go up the water tower for a beautiful view. Of course the prices are high because of the location. we enjoyed our beach burgers. But they do charge an extra for any additions. That one caught us by surprise.

I stopped in with family while out on a boating trip. You can only get here via boat. I would highly recommend getting here early. The restaurant opens at 11am for lunch service but fills up very fast, so rush up to get your name on the list. We got lucky to get seated in the first wave of seating. The menu is not very extensive but does offer salads, shrimp dishes, fish, and of course burgers. This restaurant is known to be the reference for Cheeseburger in Paradise. While others at the table did order a Cheeseburger, I ordered the Shrimp salad. The shrimp salad was served over a tomato with sides of coleslaw and potato salad. All really fresh and flavorful. I highly recommend this dish for something light at lunch time. The Cheeseburgers I heard were good too. Here you do pay for water since it is served by bottle. We even added a dollar bill to the restaurants decor!

Amy the bar tender was awesome. She knows all about boy bands and serves a great cabbage creeper. Dark rum floater is a must.

A bit confusing because they've reopened or rebranded to Mainstay (but some of their signs and all…read moreof their merch still says Barnacles), but we stopped here on a boating day in Fort Myers! SPACE This is a casual spot to boat up to with outdoor covered seating, indoor dollar bar seating, bags/games to play and beachy vibes. SERVICE Service was great! The person taking our order was lovely, as was the team bringing out our food. FOOD Food was great! We loved the bang bang shrimp tacos, the mahi mahi plate, and the buffalo shrimp especially. DRINKS They've got a great cocktail menu with delicious frozen and tropical favorites. PRICE Prices are STEEP - but what else do you expect from a boat-up restaurant on an isolated tiny island? It's all part of the experience. ICE CREAM Most people don't know it, but upstairs is more rooftop seating - go inside up top and they have an ice cream shop with merch for sale too!

This restaurant is actually called Mainstay and Barnacle Bar. Came here with Adventures in…read moreParadise. Got Boom Boom Shrimp Tacos (a play on Bang Bang sauce). Very good--cooked perfectly and the sauce was yummy. Nice outside eating area, inside looked cramped and not overly clean. Server was pretty grumpy when taking our orders but must have stressed down because she seemed friendly when she said goodbye to our group. Do expect to pay a fairly high surcharge to eat here, not sure what that's all about, but expect it. And prices are high, but we're on an island only accessible by boat or plane, so keep expectations in line with that. Restaurant is in front of a gigantic island dump, so that's not wonderful. If you brave the walk by the dump you can see Salty Approach, this notorious air strip that's talked about a lot on boat tours down there. Pretty cool.

Ok this place is a total dive. It was recommended to me by a local bartender who seems to know her…read morestuff. I came here after a round of golf. Everyone loved my golf hat- "play bad fast". I looked at the outdoor bar but every single seat was taken. All the outdoor tables were booked. So I went inside and saw the inside bar was also full. A table for ten and a table for 6 had departed and needed to be bussed, but both were too much for just one person. So I checked in w the hostess and she asked - booth or table. I wanted table. I got a nice table by the river! Lovely views. Exactly what I wanted. Menus were dropped and soon, Sam was checking in on me. I was so hungry, I had looked at the menu and pics on my way there. I went for the crab cake appetizer and the Gold Wave cocktail. For my entree, I was torn between the Grouper Reuben and the Sea Dog (fried grouper on a long roll, topped with all sorts of goodness). Sam said grouper Reuben was his choice. He asked if I wanted grilled, blackened or fried. I told him to surprise me. For my side, I had the choice of (more) coleslaw (it has coleslaw instead of sauerkraut), fries, sweet potato fries, or a side house or Cesar salad for $4 more. I went w the house salad and their standard citrus vinaigrette. Salad and crab cake came out first. Salad was a huge portion- romaine (some pieces needed better washing), red onion galore, halved cherry tomatoes and cucumber slices. It was great, but needed croutons. The crab cake was the perfect size for one person. It had a whole grain mustard remoulade sauce. Yum! It had some filler but also had a lot of crab. I enjoyed it. The grouper Rueben came out hot!!!! Served with a side of coleslaw and a pickle. I added some needed salt. Boy that fish filet was huge. Sam had put it in grilled for me. Healthy. Nice. I ate half and then I was stuffed. I filled up on the salad and crabcake apparently. I enjoyed the views of boaters going by. It started to rain hard and the folks outside just stayed there. The overhang must've been protecting them well. My server, Sam, was around often to answer my questions. Apparently the grouper Reuben market price is only $21. And if you want redfish or mahi, the price is the same- $21! That's crazy. What a deal. The gold wave is made with Elijah Craig; Good ol Kentucky bourbon. And for dessert, they have cheesecake, peanut butter pie, mud pie, key lime pie, coconut sorbet and orange cake (which he says is a local favorite). I was too stuffed to buy but happy to hear the list. Overall I had a wonderful meal and service was really good. I would recommend adding croutons to the salad, and cleaning up the bathrooms regularly. This place ain't fancy. It's a dirt parking lot. The tables are naked. Folks come casual. However, the prices are great and the food does the talking. Come check them out.

This is a popular local spot, and it was definitely busy when we visited. Our table was clean, but…read morethe floors were noticeably dirty. Every time our kids dropped their crayons, we jokingly told them, "You snooze, you lose," because we didn't want them picking anything up off the floor. Our waitress was very kind and patient, but we barely saw her throughout the meal. The service could definitely be more attentive. We also waited quite a while for our check, and by then our kids were getting pretty impatient. The kids' mac and cheese looked just like Kraft mac and cheese. The kids enjoyed it, but it's probably not something we'd order again since it's easy to make at home. The oysters were delicious, and I also really enjoyed the fried shrimp basket. I wasn't a fan of the radish sauce, but the coleslaw was excellent. My husband ordered the whole fried fish basket. Unfortunately, it was served without any utensils, so we had to wait until we could flag down another waitress to ask for some because we couldn't find our server. The fish also would have been easier to eat if it had been cut or partially filleted, as the crispy coating fell off the fish when trying to eat it, making it less appetizing. Overall, the food had some highlights, especially the oysters and fried shrimp, but cleaner floors and more attentive service would have made the experience much better.
