We ordered the House Made Smoked Mahi Fish Dip, it was super fresh, light, and filling at the same time. I ordered the Cabbage Key Famous Cheeseburger with their kettle chips. The burger was good, but next time I would definitely love to try out some of their other things - like the Shrimp Deluxe Entree. And I feel like I am only saying that, because I don't live by the ocean, and want to get all the seafood while near bodies of water. My boyfriend got their Grilled Mahi Sandwich with potato salad. Had a great birthday lunch today, October 24th. It was not too busy. It's in a great location you can only get to by boat. There is a ferry from Pine Island. The place has dollar bills all over the place very unique . The cabbage creeper and the burger were really good. The golden margarita was great. The service was great and no wait but again it's not high season. The waitress Becky from Georgia from over the top friendly and provides great service with an upbeat attitude. Friends and I took the Captiva Cruise Boat to Cabbage Key for lunch. Awesome trip and a fantastic lunch, we had seafood chowder, their signature cheese burger and blackened fish with rice and beans. All delicious! Best of all was their specialty drink Cabbage Creeper (like a piña colada only better). Our server was Taylor she was so enthusiastic, you could tell she loves her job. Be sure and bring a few Dollar Bills to write your name on and hang on the resturant walls. Cabbage Key walls are covered with what is believed to be over $100k, in One Dollar Bills. My husband and I were staying on the island and enjoyed several meals in the restaurant. Our server for many of them was Ariana who provided outstanding customer servivce. We were celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary and Ariana's bright energy and attention to detail made our celebration wonderful....topping off our meal with a special anniversary dessert. A really great place to stop and eat. They are on a private island just west of Useppa island in Pine Island sound. Very nice atmosphere. Inside air conditioned dining, or outside tables under umbrellas. The staff is very welcoming and efficient. There are resident Gopher tortugas named for the Ninja turtles. They freely roam the property including the outside restaurant tables. The food is definitely a notch above standard fare, and is very good. They have a full bar, and pitchers of " boat drinks" that you can take away. Open for lunch at 11:00 AM. It gets VERY crowded even in off season. Arrive by 10:30, sit down at an outside table ( the outside tables are first come first served) and wait for a server at 11:00. Or come at noon and wait a long time. They will take your name for inside seating, and call you. ONLY ACCESSIBLE BY BOAT. read more

Cabbage key was a really cool place to stop in and have lunch /dinner. They are open for all 3 meals, but have a break between each so check times before coming. We all ordered cheeseburgers and cabbage creeper drinks. The food was good as well as the drinks, nothing too special but it was good for lunch. As for the building itself it is really cool with indoor and outdoor seating. The walls are absolutely covered in visitors dollar bills which is really cool. They have a gift shop as well and areas to walk around to see the turtles and ducks and othrr wildlife. You can only get here by boat don't forget but itd definitely worth a stop in! Fun full day excursion to Cabbage Key. Everyone remarks the prices are $$$ and yes they are BUT keep in mind that everything is brought in via boat. There are no roads. The food is good and that's not always the case for a destination. They do a great job. The service was stellar and the place was packed. Really really good! Thick and creamy. I got the rueben and Deb got the cheeseburger. Had to right!? Rueben was piled high and very tasty but the burger tasted awesome. Like it had just came off a charcoal grill in the backyard. Really nice and brought back good memories of grilling out on charcoal. Stopped here for lunch this weekend with some friends. Everyone loved it! I had the Mahi sandwich, my husband had the burger and our friends had the special - a triple tail sandwich. The best way to describe it is... it is what it is. Any restaurant on an island is going to be pricey. Considering that it was crab season, I was hoping that I would be impressed with the food, but not so much. When we got off of the boat and noticed that all of the outdoor seating was taken, I was a bit disappointed. They sat us inside of the front part of the restaurant. The plastic windows were pulled down and were a disappointment because we couldn't see out and enjoy the view. After we ordered, we walked around and caught a glimpse of the dollars on the wall. Bring a dollar, they have the markers that you can use to hang your signed dollar and leave your mark there on the island. I caught a glimpse of their famous "Cheeseburger In Paradise" a few tables over and it didn't look too impressive, so we ordered the seafood platter for two. I kid you not, I've had larger single portion entrees at other places. Not only do I think that it wasn't served as the sizes that the menu stated, the sides (potato salad and cole slaw) were served as single sized. When I asked the waitress about it, she said that the single sized seafood platter only comes with one side and this comes with two. Wrong. That's not at all what the menu stated... I took a picture of it of course. The mustard sauce was the best part of the meal... phenomenal. I will admit that the stone crab was good, much better than the time that I had them in California. read more

However, this time we were a few couples and asked for separate checks but apparently there policy now is only ONE check per table no matter the size of your party. We went to Cabbage Key on Saturday and sat at the bar. Cabbage Key was so busy that we didn't want to wait for a table, so sitting at the bar was our best option. When we sat down immediately Nicole took our drink order and while Sam was making 12 drinks at a time. Nicole was a bartender, bar back, waitress all at the same time. Sam was picking up bottles without looking at them and making drinks for the whole restaurant. Both of them were filling half gallon containers for the two new outside bars. These two bartenders never stopped the whole time we were there. We were so impressed with their skills, personalities, and temperament. Have been coming to Cabbage Key with my family for over 40 years. The food, service and atmosphere are always excellent. This year we had the pleasure of sitting at the bar for lunch. We took the Captiva Cruise Boat "Lady Chadwick" over to Cabbage Key on August 31. We knew that there was a restaurant on Cabbage Key to have lunch, and had a wonderful lunch at the very unique restaurant. There are dollar bills hanging everywhere on the ceiling...just thousands of them! Our waitress was Nicole and she was awesome! My boyfriend had the burger, which he said was amazing and I had the fresh grouper on a salad, which was amazing too! We also had the smoked mahi tuna dip, which was smoked on site. You can only get to Cabbage Key by boat so already your experience starts off well. The restaurant at Cabbage key is definitely part of the fun. The island itself is pretty cool and there are several local tortoises roaming the island you can feed. Once you enter, the walls are absolutely covered in money. From what I hear it is over $70k in ones. The kids had fun writing our own message on $1 bills and hanging them on the wall. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed and the drinks are strong at the bar. We pretty much drank while we were here, but we did have the deluxe shrimp as a bite and they were definitely pretty good. It seems that despite your typical bar fare you can also get fancy with some stone crab claws too. There is a rumor that the song "Cheeseburger in Paradise" is about the burger here but that ended up not being true. Our friends had the cheeseburger and said it was pretty good though. Overall I would say that this is a must see if you make it to Cabbage Key even if only for a drink. read more

Caught the boat from Punta Gordo in the morning for lunch at Cabbage Key. The boat ride over was great nice breeze,plenty of sunshine. The scenery is breathtaking and I could easily stay here forever. The restaurant was overpriced but than what choices do you have it is the only restaurant on the island. I had a shrimp salad sandwich and an iced tea. There were four of us and we all ordered the same sandwich. The bill was over a hundred dollars ( with tip )for 4 sandwiches and 4 drinks. The sandwich was good and the sides were okay.I would have given it 3 stars but come on water,surf,breeze it all counts. read more
