I took my MacBook to them after it froze and no longer recognized my hard drive. C4 repaired it quickly (turn around time about a day), so that it would boot up, but I only had it home for about an hour before it was back to the same problem. So, I headed back to C4 and they took my computer again. This time they determined the underlying cause for the error: a connecting cable. They ordered the new part and installed it for about $80 total (this is after paying them the deposit and about $40 for the first repair). Their service was courteous and prompt for the most part, but it was annoying that they didn't figure out what was actually wrong with my computer the first time and I had to make a second trip days after the first. read more

I have been here before, as it is noted through my other post. I always was a PC owner until the summer. I switched to Mac, and couldn't have been happier with the computer for the most part. The only problem is that my computer has that stupid infamous "squeaking noise." It's not loud, it's quite faint, and it's not as bad as some other people have it. There's a few YT videos and web pages about it. It's just more of an annoyance, and I wanted to make sure it wasn't part of a bigger problem, like a lose screw or a problem with the hard drive. I didn't want to do it myself, because I am quite clumsy. So, I went to the Apple store. You know, since my computer is new, plus I bought the extra warranty. And always take your Macbook to the Apple store, right? I did not think I needed an appointment on an average, non-holiday Tuesday at 11 am. I took a cab out there, and a cab back (That's $50 bucks right there with the tip). They put me in the line of shame, because I didn't have an appointment. The girl with her trusty iPad says that she can't hear anything, and pretty much gave me a stupid stare even though some MacBooks have this problem. I needed to make an appointment with the tech. He'll be available after 4. Although the guy in front of me got an appointment for Noon. Apparently, if you look at the Apple yelp page, 4 in Apple time means 6. I'm also part Hispanic, so I'm used to 4 o'clock meaning sometime after 5, and tardiness. I just didn't want to a) come back or b) wait that long. I told her, sorry, I took a cab out here, because you guys don't have a store in Greater New Orleans. So, I didn't want to wait around all day, or maybe find someone to take me out there, if they could. "Yeah, well, some people drive all the way out from FL to come see us." That was all she said. I seriously feel bad for people that have to drive four hours to deal with D-bags, plus gas expenses. I have never walked into an Apple store where they had good service. Not here, not in another state, not in another country. Seriously, South Park hit the nail on the head with that episode. I came to C4. My computer case broke when they were trying to take it off. Right that second they ordered me a new one. No extra charge. I paid the $40 deposit, and I got it back about a day-and-a-half later, because they wanted to run some extra stress tests on it to make sure it wasn't part of a greater problem. They weren't able to recreate the noise; however,they looked inside the computer before they did anything. Nothing wrong there, either. They charge by the hour, so I thought I would be charged more with all the tests. No. I just had to pay the deposit. They honestly could have told me to pay more, and I would have, but they didn't. They were pretty busy, and they were very nice about looking into my dumb "problem." I have come here twice before. Not once did these guys ever look down upon me or ever given me bad service. Ever. Like the former worker said, it's run by stand-up people, and it's a co-op. Their cliental is also expanding, so that's a good sign. They are professional, and very patient. You're supporting the local economy, and you don't have to go out to a stupid mall in the 'burbs to get crappy service. Believe me I had some separation anxiety when I gave them my MacBook, but I'm glad I did. At least I know my computer doesn't have a big problem. They didn't just say, "Sorry couldn't hear the noise" and handed me back my computer. They took a good look at it, couldn't find anything wrong, and didn't charge me more. Funny thing is that I was going to go to them first to save my cab fare, but I figured I might as well go to the Apple store since I'm under warranty. I recently brought in my work computer for repair. C4 Tech is close to where I work. They were thorough in explaining what was wrong with my system, and gettting it cleaned up. The techs even managed to get my Outlook personal files repaired so that all of my email was working again! We were devastated when the hard drive of our old MacBook Pro crashed and we couldn't access any of our files and pictures. After searching online and reading about this company in their website, we figured it was worth a shot. Excellent service!! I went in with a charging issue unsure if it was the computer or charger and a nice man helped me out. In about 10 minutes I was out the door. The service here was great. I took my laptop in on Friday and they had it back to me by Tuesday. There is a service fee that they use to assess what is going on and if you decide to have them fix your computer it is put towards the final charge. After taking my computer in I found out the hard drive had crashed. They were able to get a new part under warranty and get the computer back quickly. The staff knows what they are talking about. I went to another computer repair store uptown this morning and the repair person told me that my keyboard replacement for my laptop was too complicated for him. So, I called C4 and they told me to come in. Ryan was friendly, professional and gave me confidence that I was in good hands. He told me exactly what they would do and what it would cost. They called me a few hours later and returned by computer to me repaired and in excellent condition. The job was completed quicker than expected and the bill was also less than expected. I was unsatisfied with the services I received. I turned my external hard drive into them in November. I called over 5 times to see if they were able to recover anything. Each time the person who was working on my hard drive was not available and they told me he would call me back. I decided to go into C4 Tech and Design in person and they had no answer for me. They could not recover anything but also could not give me back my hard drive. The "person" who was working on it was not in and was on vacation. The guy behind the counter seemed embarrassed but said he would call me if he found my hard drive. I was disappointed with the lack of communication and follow through. I would not recommend anyone to go their for hard drive recovery. At the very least, I deserved a phone call stating that they could not recover anything from my hard drive and I should be given my hard drive back. The hard drive is my property. The lack of costumer service and communication is unfortunate. read more
