Cliquey, judgmental and non-meditative. I tried to talk to…read morethe owner, Noreen, about my experience with the studio but after leaving messages and sending feedback through the website, it's clear she does not care enough to respond so I will share my experience here in hopes that you will not have to deal with a studio that no longer cares about the spirit of yoga. I had one great class with a teacher that is not the owner, (which I did not get free as it states on their website. She felt uncomfortable giving it to me when the owner was not there). Because that teacher was so great, I bought a 10 class pass. My Mistake! The next class I attended was ok but the owner taught it and it was clear she had her favored group around her. It was not welcoming at all, more like a workout than a strenuous invigorating yoga centric experience and savasana consisted of her telling us "to take as long as you want" and she walked out of the room. The Monday night class taught by Noreen again was horrific. She walked in and announced to the class that she had vomiting and diarrhea for hours that morning but since there was no one else to teach the class, she showed up. We went straight into the asanas while she told us about her symptoms, told us that it is going around, talked about how miserable her friends are who had it and then walked around the room blowing her nose. Then the conversation, all during poses, turned to gossiping about a teacher who farted all the time, gassy students, a girl who made squeaking sounds, and a girl who made moaning sounds. Then the conversation turned into "bawling kids" about the Patriots game loss and how depressing that was. I felt then that I was at some book club of gossipy high school girls who happened to be doing yoga at the same time. Then she called attention to my metallic ankle bracelet and then announced to the class no less than 3 times it was a placebo, it was humiliating. Then she made the insulting insinuation that I was as naïve as a child by telling the class that she uses the placebo effect on her kids by giving them small pickles for headaches "because they will believe anything". She called me out as "new girl". She told me that one day I will be like the other women in the class. Again, insulting and embarrassing! I was being compared publicly to women who are 20 years younger than me who have a regular practice. I used to have a very strong practice and I know what I am doing. I am just less flexible but I'm fine with that. I honor my practice and my own pace while I make progress in my own time. There was no reverence, no meditative quality, no honoring of self, community or the joy of the practice. And the savasana was again, Noreen walking out the door and telling us to do what we want. I left. Go at your own risk. Just beware that this is not a practice center based on the core yoga fundamental principles.

I received a gift certificate for a private session with Noreen and have have left three voicemail…read moremessages to schedule an appointment. Two of the calls were forwarded straight to voicemail. Nobody's called back. Unprofessional.

I was pleasantly surprised how much exercise I could accomplish in the pool on the first visit! I knew all too well what I was in store for, & was punctual for each appt, but was often seen 10 minutes late. This may have been overlooked, but the office was often empty & I was told the therapist was busy with 'paperwork". The contention I had on the time, is that she tried to release me after only 15-20 minute sessions, but continued to charge my insurance company for hundreds of dollars. It was evident early on, this therapist was obviously not enthused about her job and it showed. If someone else walked by, i was quickly abandoned and/or her attention diverted. Even though progress had been made, she eventually was pawning me off to a sports masseuse. I have nothing against going for a massage, and in fact began working them in to coincide with my treatment, but in one breath the therapist was telling me I could eventually be pain free but it would take time; yet in the same sentence telling me I need to learn how to "manage the pain" & therapy was over!! Are you kidding me??? I understand after a certain period of treatment, there is a re-evaluation. The problem here is that she was cutting me loose before I was healed. It's not that I am trying to be my own dr., and i may have respected her professional opinion, had she wanted to listen or take into consideration my past personal experience's. When I tried to make additional appointments, she had the office secretary call me to cancel them, and was then provided the excuse Katie was concerned with my insurance and that I may be charged for the appointments based on her notes. Apparently her notes do not include the comments made by the patient. I have excellent insurance and it covered past treatments in full, with no problem. I now will need to go to another PT office, with the same insurance, to finish the job the way it should be.
