Club Pilates has been a great place for me and in just one month of attending classes in the new…read moreVillage Shoppes Canton location, I've recognized that my outlook on exercise (something I struggled with very much in the past) is so much better, encouraged in a positive way, and so much more holistic. I had only taken mat pilates classes in the past, so all the new-to-me equipment is exciting to use and I look forward to the different class offerings. I've taken an intro class, level 1 and level 1.5 classes, and they can be so different. I was huffing and puffing in a Suspend 1.5 class, using TRX bands and wondering if I was going to survive the hour; Reformer Flow 1 classes that allow me to really stretch and listen to my body - recognize what positions I'm in and if I'm in pain and need to modify, or if I can challenge myself further. My favorite was a Reformer 1.5 class where I realized I still have a lot of my flexibility from my dance years but still need to build my ab muscles to bring myself back upright without looking like a fish out of water. I've had 4 different teachers so far and they bring so much to the table (or reformer, rather) - they're all encouraging in different ways - they seem to always have their eye on you so you know you'll get guidance if you need it, yet I don't feel like I'm being watched or judged, and they share their love and knowledge for the practice in a way that motivates. I've tried to go to other pilates studios in the past, but they've had this air about them that made it really intimidating--this is not the case at Club Pilates. I have enjoyed working with their staff and teachers - Amy and Jen are fantastic and have been so helpful and go above and beyond. I've realized that I can get a well-rounded workout via Club Pilates and recently canceled my 13 year old gym membership to opt for unlimited classes at Club Pilates. Why pay for something that I don't use and don't enjoy going to when I can really invest in something I can already tell is working? Currently, I couple this with weekly spin classes - just to mix things up and challenge myself with a different and intense type of workout. If you're on the fence, just try a free intro class. You won't be disappointed.

I arrived 15mins early to fill out waiver and buy grippy socks. The beginner intro class was 30mins alot of nice guided help. I enjoyed it alot and will be looking into drop in classes.

I have a connective tissue disorder and chronic pain related to it. I've lived in physical therapy…read moresince I was about 12 years old and have always been told that pilates would be good for me I finally took the chance in adding this place to my regimen (I also do some pilates with my PT) and I really love it. they're very welcoming and I'm comfortable there (I'm never comfortable exercising in front of folks so that's pretty major). I try to attend with the same instructor because she knows about my injuries etc but I've gone to a few others and they're all great. I frequently have to make modifications to the exercises they are doing- for example my shoulders slip out of place so instead of using the reformer for a particular exercise I've been taught by them to use the wall things (technical term lol) they have also really helped me out when I have had issues with not being able to attend because of my condition and membership fees and what not. If you're interested they have free trial sessions to check them out !

To be clear, in the insure class, I felt no pressure at all to sign up for a membership. The whole reason I did the free intro class was because I was looking for a new Pilates gym. All the instructors I've had so far been knowledgeable and clear and their instruction of the moves and what muscle groups I should be using. This is now become part of my weekly routine for fitness.

Healing Tree has a huge variety of yoga classes available and a great schedule. The studio is small…read morebut spacious and everyone there is friendly and accommodating if classes start to get full and potentially crowded. I've never had a bad instructor here! Cost is reasonable and you can occasionally pick up a voucher deal (i.e. Living Social, Amazon Local) if you're trying to keep costs low. The Friday or Sunday evening restorative/Yin yoga classes are a great way to end your week. Rebecca is one of the gentlest, most pleasant instructors I've ever taken a class with (and I've taken a lot of yoga classes!). The Monday night slow flow vinyasa with Joanna is a perfect balance between gentle and challenging and an awesome way to start your week. I've also had a massage here in the past (a few years back) - I think I asked for an accupressure massage. It was worth every cent. There are other massage therapists in Quincy that I would recommend instead almost exclusively due to cost (Theresa at A Healthy Balance, anyone at Thai Health Spa), but you won't be getting a bad treatment if you go here.

I had such an issue with my hip and was going to see a dr the next week for a shot, I took one of her classes and she added ball rolling and WOW is all I can say. Dr said I didn't need a shot and continue to take yoga he also said I didn't need another appointment. If your body is craving to move and need to create space so that you can move easily take one of her classes she never a disappoints. Patty J
