Complete disgraceful and unethical business practices by the owner. He and the whole studio should be under investigation. Once you sign up, the owner will continue to charge your card without consent. There is no option to cancel or dispute it online. He is never at the studio, so there is no one to actually speak with that is in charge. He refuses all calls, never answers the phone, ignores text and emails. I highly suggest anyone affiliated (yoga instructors) with this studio to do something, because you are representing the studio (and compliant with the owner) and it's unethical and wrong. anyone who wants to try this studio, run..to another yoga studio. read more

I usually use the Milton Yoga studio in the winter just because I cannot stand the heat in the summer. At the end of June of 2023, I sent an email to cancel membership but no one responded. It's been three months now and my card continues to be charged. I sent an email to Sean, the owner and I did not get any response. I checked the reviews today and I saw that I'm not the only one who has experienced this. I love the instructors and I have had good experiences but the business practices and communication need improvement. read more

It saddens me to write this review as I actually have loved attending classes here - they've perhaps been my favorite in all of the area, however I agree with the prior reviewer who stated that the lack of response from the owner while continuing to have charges run on your card is borderline fraud. Do not sign up for a subscription with this studio. You will not be able to cancel and your card will continue to be run. I have been trying to cancel since May. I have sent 5 emails, left multiple voicemails and have even stopped by the studio and yet my card is still being charged monthly and I have gotten zero response. The email auto response says you'll get a response within 48 hours. I'm hoping to get one within 48 weeks. I'm very disappointed that this lack of response and inability to properly run a business will affect my willingness to continue practicing here. read more

Happy Day! Milton Yoga finally moved into their new space! And it is AWESOME. Finally, they have a space to call their own where our yoga community can flourish! There is some off-street parking, and plenty of on-street parking spaces. There are 2 studio rooms, complete with a sweet sound system, and there's a built-in steam system to get the temp up in the studios for hotter yoga classes. The entire space is completely renovated and very clean...the wall paint colors are so welcoming. The lighting is so nice too...check out the evening classes! They've expanded their schedule and added daytime classes. They've even added a pilates class Saturday mornings. The teachers are still all laid back and friendly, there are still a variety of class types and teaching styles... I really can't express enough how excited I am to practice here. read more

Help -- Shawmut Yoga, same owner, asked people to buy a subscription package in the beginning of the pandemic. Now that studios are open, the website says they're moving to a new location and has said that for a very long time. Who can I speak to about my subscription? I've repeatedly sent emails to Sean and have gotten no response. read more

I highly recommend Katie's 6AM Thursday heated Vinyasa class. She got us into our bodies and out of our heads. She gave options for both beginner and advanced practitioners. She encouraged us to challenge ourselves, kept us safe, and cracked jokes. It was such a great way to start the day and totally worth getting up early for. The studio itself is bright and inviting. The yoga room was clean and the temperature was perfect. Bring a towel, you will sweat (and you will love it). You must go to this charming neighborhood studio. read more

I went here for the first time in a while a couple weeks ago and had a totally different experience. The instructor wasn't great and seemed very new. The studio itself looked older and not as clean and bright as before. I was a little disappointed overall with my recent experience here. read more

Save your money as there are a TON of studios in the area with better presentation and offerings. For goodness sake its in the middle of a random, rundown preschool, so you'd even be better off practicing at home. Also they charge way too much for their classes under the circumstances. The staff is rude, and the whole place in general is extremely unorganized. I did not have a good experience and won't be back. read more

I had the same experience as another reviewer at the sister studio in Hingham, same owner, same unauthorized charges to my credit card. Four emails over a month and a half to cancel my subscription, no response from owner and finally had to dispute the charges with AMEX. Mistakes happen but this is boarderline fraud with the lack of response. I would stay away from this chain of yoga studios. read more

I ended up doing the 5-day for $5 special and then signed up for a $99 monthly pass! I'm hooked! My favorite instructors so far are Jeff, Nicola, and Ashleigh! Nicola will get you sweating and Ashleigh is great for going around the class to correct your poses. I've been really enjoying all of my classes here and will schedule my week around getting to the most classes possible! The $99 special is a great deal, depending on how often you plan on attending. I'm really happy so far. :) read more

Milton Yoga is a wonderful neighborhood studio and a pleasant surprise. I have tried yoga, but the studios felt like fashion, flexibility and popularity contests- who has the best mat, who can stay in crow the longest and who is wearing the latest lulu gear. Not what I want for my non judgmental yoga practice! Walking into Milton Yoga was a breath of fresh air. There were all shapes and sizes, all ability levels and all ages- literally. The location is deceiving- you walk into a daycare/preschool and there is a yoga oasis. The class was challenging, but not impossible for a newbie. Sean, the instructor, was accepting, warm and made me feel right at home. His teaching style was that of an experienced yoga instructor, but less new-agey than most. I explored the schedule and learned more about what classes, teachers and styles I liked. Milton Yoga has something for everyone. Milton Yoga has a sense of community where everyone is welcome- even if you can't touch your toes! read more

I have been attending classes for three years now and it continues to improve. Sean and the other instructors are all great. Different type of teachers and classes available for different people/levels. Obviously it is rare to find a poor yoga studio review and I have been to a lot of the south shore studios. I have no complaints about them but I haven't taken the time to review them either. read more

My favorite hot yoga studio. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to start yoga or even veteren yogis. All the staff were awesome and helped you no matter what level you are at. My only criticism is that I can't pick them up and moved them to Rhode Island. read more

This studio is great for all levels. Instructors are friendly and welcoming. I look forward to every class.

Great place to start your practice. I found Milton Yoga randomly through Google and decided to give it a shot with such a good introductory offer. I tried three different classes during the period, some really easy and others that left me sore for days. I find that yoga studios can be intimidating for beginners, but there was a really welcoming vibe from the instructor and from the rest of the folks practicing. I can't wait for them to move into the new space down the street. I would recommend Milton Yoga to anyone looking to find a starting point in their yoga practice. read more

Ok, so I went to Milton Yoga back in January and went very often until I hurt my foot in April. I was taking yoga at a gym before and for me it was my first time at a studio. I immediately knew I was addicted to yoga after only going a week! So people have said the room is small. Yes it is. But, the classes aren't jammed packed so I never minded it. (I took a class at 02 in Somerville and I was so aggravated that I had no room.) The mirrors in the class are both good and bad. They are good because I used to focus on them when I was balancing and could see how my form looked. But I can't tell you how many times I caught myself fixing my hair or my shirt because if your looking at yourself you gotta fix it. That got me a little distracted at times. As for the atmosphere, everyone I met there was great! I felt like I made some yogi friends and looked forward to seeing them when I went to class. The teachers are very good. Each teacher offers something different to the class. Corin's class used to kick my butt (In a good way) and I loved the insight she would give during class and new poses she would integrate every week. I took a lot of classes from Sean the owner. He is very nice and helps you out if you ever have an issue with anything. My favorite class he taught was Beginner's flow. That class for me was a very good yoga experience. A lot of his classes I felt like were more geared towards getting into shape and holding poses for a long time (which is a good thing) but for me I need yoga not only to work out but to calm down and get in my zone haha. Only things I would have liked to see while I was there: *Music in all the classes. Beginner's Flow was one of the only ones that offered yoga music in the background. It can get distracting when you can hear the people around you and especially during final shavasana it is very hard to get into it with no music. I feel like my yoga experience is a lot better when there is music. Although some people don't like music so it could be me. *Hot Yoga in the spring and summer. When I used to come in the winter, the hot yoga only bothered me a little . It was freezing outside so it was nice to work out in a hot room. But when I came back for a month in June the heated yoga was unbearable for me. The last class I took there was on a Saturday and it was 90 outside and the heat was on inside and I almost passed out from the heat. It wasn't for me. I have seen Sean advertising yoga with the AC on and outside, but I just never got to take a class like that. *More class times. Now this isn't Sean's fault. He is in the process of building a new studio and can only use the studio when the preschool isn't in session. The reason I left early was because there were no classes to fit my schedule and the hot yoga in the summer. Other than that, I highly recommend Milton Yoga. If I wasn't moving next month I would have still tried to come back when it got cooler out and tried the new studio out. :) read more

I went to my first warm vinyasa class with Deneiges and she was very welcoming and kind! Although I had not been to a yoga class in years and everyone else in the class seemed to be very experienced, Deneiges made me feel very comfortable and not out of place! She was very helpful in briefly explaining what each position was so that I was not left behind! I definitely recommend Milton Yoga and I will be back to try more classes. read more

At first I was thinking, is there a yoga studio in here? The studio is in a daycare building (for now, I hear they are moving), the room may not be as fancy as others- but the teacher I had was amazing, the people that attended were really friendly, and there was a sense of cozy/at home atmosphere that so many larger studios don't have. I would definitely come back to this studio. read more

Absolutely love this studio!! Tried the two week pass for $30 and haven't stopped going. There is nice range of class offering (warm vinyasa, hot power and spa) and teachers which is really nice for keeping in interesting and varied. If you haven't been to MY, I highly recommend it. My favorite teachers are Anna (hard core - Power yoga), Cassandra and Degenais (sp?). read more

Milton Yoga is a great local find! The classes offer plenty of personal attention (as opposed to some studios where the huge class sizes produce a cramped, impersonal environment). The class times are ideal for busy folks with 45 minute weekday morning classes several times a week (perfect!) and plenty of evening classes as well. Sean is an excellent instructor and motivator. Try the "core" class for an outstanding core strengthening workout! Great place. read more

Don't let this unassuming studio fool you.... this place has amazing energy. Sean, the owner, has built a yoga community from the ground up. There is a wide variety of classes for all levels of yoga...yoga fusion will kick your butt in the best of ways, core vinyasa will make you sweat, hatha will bring you back down to earth.... and no matter what class you take or teacher who teaches it, you will leave feeling centered and smiling. There are even kids classes and special meditation events....if you haven't checked it out, you should! read more

I've been cyber-stalking Milton Yoga for a while now, and have always said I'm going to take advantage of their new student package (2 weeks for $25), and was FINALLY able to get over to their NEW studio. There was ample parking for late Thursday afternoon, and I wasn't at all worried about parking my car on the street. The neighborhoods around that area tend to be really safe. There were lots of cubbies to keep your personal belongings, and I was ensured that the doors would be locked while class was in session, so I shouldn't be concerned about leaving my keys or wallet. The studio was REALLY clean and didn't smell like a hot-yoga studio can sometimes smell. It surprised me that there were no mirrors- I'm used to practicing in an area where I can check my pose- but I think this was a benefit. Instead of looking at myself to check, I was able to actually take a mental evaluation to see if it FELT right. The teacher, Jen, was AMAZING. I've been doing yoga off an on for about 10 years, and I can honestly say, this was the best class I've ever gone to. It was a power vinyasa, with heat. The music wasn't the typical nature sounds, but it was adult contemporary verses/lyrics mixed with the relaxing sounds you'd expect to hear in a yoga class. Jen didn't spend a lot of time on her mat, but more time walking around the classroom, adjusting students, encouraging them to try to take their practice to the next level. I liked this personal connection, because I knew when I was correct in a pose, and when I needed to twist more or less. I would absolutely recommend this studio to beginners, or returners to the mat and will surely be back again! Thanks for the great experience! Namaste! read more

I started going to Milton Yoga a couple of months ago, and it has really been what I needed to revive my yoga practice. The music is great, and really energizes me. The teachers are uniformly fantastic, and are able to modify and offer variations to make class more or less challenging. I started with the 2 week offer, and am now on the three month summer special and plan to continue. I have been to a bunch of the classes and I have liked them all, and the location is perfect for me to stop off on my way home from work. read more

Love this yoga studio. Great location with off and on street parking. I have taken the Yin class most frequently and love the low key focus on healing. I have also taken a few of the flow classes and enjoyed them as well. I highly recommend the studio and especially the Yin class if you are recovering from injury or needing a gentle practice to de-stress. read more
