I've been using Economy Cleaners on a regular basis for several years to provide dry cleaning and…read moresome minor tailoring to my work uniforms. It took me quite a long time to find a dry cleaner who does a good job on my uniforms. My uniform pants need regular dry cleaning. My white uniform shirts need to be washed, starched and have military creases ironed into them. Most dry cleaners botch the military creases - either they're crooked, incorrect placement, etc. Economy Cleaners is the only dry cleaner I've found who consistently provides these services correctly. The turnaround times are fast and the prices are respectable. If I bring in 3 shirts and 3 pants, I can have them back in 2 days and the price will cost around $30 (again, that's with washing, starching, and military creases). They also provide tailoring services. Although it's not as in-depth as a full tailoring shop, it's convenient for minor repairs (such as a hem or button coming undone). The shop is located on Broadway in the City of Newburgh, just across from the entrance to Dupont Avenue. It's easy to find, they have their own private parking lot, and it's easy getting in/out of the lot. They have been here for many years and have an established, reputable business.

(the coat has six buttons, she damaged three buttons to varying degrees). i suggested i will try to find and exact match for the three damaged buttons and have the cleaners sew them on. she refused. i pleasantly reminded her that i was a long time customer of hers (over 20 years), i wasnt being inflexible in this situation, and that even though she damaged my buttons i offered a compromise-- to go out and seek replacement buttons and pay for said buttons. my pleas for a amicable solution were met with a resounding "no" as she walked off, therefore ending the encounter. i do understand that during the cleaning process mistakes happen. but i also believe and would hope for good customer service from my local (or ex-local) dry cleaner, especially as a long time customer. A customer that is willing to compromise to be made whole. economy cleaners disappointingly fell short not only in customer service, but in basic competence in dry cleaning. its needless to say they have lost my business, and i will advise anyone who will listen of my unpleasant encounter with economy cleaners.
