Ok, can I just ask how its possible that these people can take a quarter of the time that the dealer does, and (I guess consequently), be so reasonably priced?! In to out time was maybe an hour for a broken axle and brake flush. I had expected to sit for three hours, then start bothering them about where's my car! Obviously, I don't know these people! Craig was brusque, but professional. In fact, they got my trusty old van in and up before I even thought to look. The first thing they did was show me what needed to be done. Ordering parts took exactly as long as they quoted, and the work was done in a jiffy. I really like all the guys I talked to also. Maybe they were rolling their eyes cuz I had told them the wrong axle, and I don't know much about cars, but I'd have rolled my eyes at myself also. Honest, professional, quick, well priced. I moved to Houston from California in 2004 with my 1997 Honda Accord (91,000 miles on odometer). That summer, I took my car to a local dealer for regularly scheduled maintenance and was told I needed about $1,400 worth of work, of which I had about $600 of that work done there. At the recommendation of a friend, I took my car to C & M for the remaining $800 worth of work. Mark told me I needed only a couple minor parts replaced not the major parts the dealer had quoted ... final cost, $60. I drove my car with regular maintenance and scheduled services for another 150,000 miles. I now bring my used Acura RDX here and get the same honest service as I did my first day. I have been taking my 02 Acura CL w/ nearly 200k miles here for major services for a couple of years now. Craig (and even the other guys) are always upfront about what should be done now and what can wait. Example: I live in Austin now and took my car to the dealership for oil change. The advisor comes back with a report of a steering pump issue b/c of a leak - nearly $700 in cost. I waited to have C&M check it and they said the leak is too minor and filled it up some fluid. So not only do they not recommend unnecessary services but recommend against any that seems unnecessary (did that sound redundant or truly poetic?) Couple of gripes: - the services invoices are handwritten and almost illegible cos of the handwriting plus being a carbon copy. So looking back at the records, it's difficult to know which services were done. - don't plan on spending too much time waiting since the waiting area is very basic w/ a table filled with magazines from 2 yrs back. And no wifi. Almost wish I lived in Houston just so my car last me another 100k! read more

Have been putting off taking my car in for the 100k maintenance. No real problems with my car, just trying to get it in tip top shape to trade it in for a new one soon. I've had really bad experiences in the past getting screwed at car shops - not sure if it's because of my cluelessness when it comes to cars or simply because I'm a woman. I've had my 2006 Civic for 6 years and haven't had any problems ever with it. I hate having to take my car in for check ups because I'm completely hesitant and think I'm going to get screwed over. I did some Yelp research and found C & M down the road from my work and they had great reviews and a reputation of being honest and fair priced. Let me tell you.... I called in and asked how much a 100k maintenance would cost and they said about $580 + tax. I said cool if I did it at Honda it's $960 so this sounds great! They met all my expectations and then some. They were courteous and explained everything that would get done and that they would look at my entire car and if anything else needed to be addressed that they would call me before they do any work. I took an Uber to work and got a call about 3 hours later that my car was ready and it came out to $580 + tax exactly what I was told over the phone. Now this right here is why I am taking the time to write this review.... I got a call at 5pm from Craig to let me know that he was calling to apologize because there was a mix up with my paperwork (I thought oh great here we go again) and that they had mistakenly overcharged me $35 and that they would be happy to refund to my card OR I could come in for a free oil change whenever I wanted... Now this ladies and gents, is what I call SUPERB service. They could have easily said eh whatever. But no. They called me and tried to refund my money! C&M Honda Car Specialists, in Stafford, TX is AWESOME! Craig (the "C" in "C&M") gave me all sorts of tips, answered all my questions (I had about 1,000, since I've been DIY'ing both our Acuras for two years now), and even tossed me a free oil filter for my TSX--the car that was not in for service. Their prices are very good, and their Honda-specific knowledge is impressive! (Hondas, as great as they are, have lots of idiosyncrasies best handled by someone with lots of Honda experience.) We used to think dealerships were the best ones to take care of our cars, but ever since a certain Acura dealership in Houston (rhymes with "Dawn Beagle") flushed the transmission of our TL--something that is strictly and specifically FORBIDDEN by American Honda Motor Corp., we decided against stealerships altogether. I am really impressed with this C&M Car Specialists--impressed enough to drive there and back from downtown Houston for car service and to sign up for Yelp only so I can post a review. read more

C & M Honda, Craig and Mark and team are professional, honest and timely Honda technicians. We have been going to C & M for over 20 years, 7 cars during this period. My current Odyssey has 260K and my old Accord had 300K until I gave it to my daughter. I have always received same day service, except once when a part wasn't delivered on time, and I got my car first thing the next morning. Their office may not be fancy and you may get a hand written invoice, but they are mechanics, doing great work at a fair price. My first Honda was right out of college after I got my first job. I used to take my brand new Honda Accord to the dealership for every single scheduled service/maintenance and repair. Boy did it get so costly! One day, one of the windows stopped working, and the dealership wasn't open, so I took it to C&M. They fixed the window right away. Since then, I have been bringing my Honda to their shop....it's been about 17 years (and 5 Honda's later)! I have always been impressed by their honesty and integrity. For instance, once I had a coupon for a "free check up and oil change" at one of the Honda dealerships. After the inspection, the dealership told me several things they wanted to fix, one of them being a cracked engine mount. It sounded so scary that my engine was cracked, so I took my car immediately to C&M and they showed me the "crack"was just a "cosmetic" problem, and advised me that it wasn't necessary to fix it! I saved $800! We love C&M Honda so much that when we were deciding on buying a Toyota Highlander or Acura MDX, we decided to buy the Acura because we knew we'd be able to use C&M Honda. Their prices are also so much more competitive than the dealership price. Even though I miss the "free car washes" at the dealerships, I know that I am getting the best quality care and best price at C&M. They are always friendly, competent, efficient and honest. My wife and I have been using C&M for over 20 years. They are very honest and competent. In fact, when buying a new car, the existence of C&M is often the deciding factor to buy a Honda or Acura product. Their prices are much better than the local dealer, and no appointment is necessary. A number of years ago, I took my old Legend to the dealer after the "check engine " light went on. They said I needed a new oxygen sensor for $800. I then took my car to C&M, expecting a better price. To my surprise they discovered that the problem was only a loose wire - no charge! My 2014 Honda has 107k miles and I didn't get around to taking in car for the 90k service just got it done today and so happy as for sure it will last forever w the preventative maintenance my last car had 425k miles. C & M have done all the other services on the car like the 30k 60k and oil changes. Once some rocks busted my compressor when driving thru Louisiana and I wouldn't let anyone else touch that Honda they fixed it quickly in the summer got my AC back to normal. Always happy with them and confident in C & M. However once I was playing w my wedding band in the car and had a vertigo episode while in park at cvs drive thru, I heard the ring fall and tried finding it later after 3 months of looking for it everywhere I asked the guys to please if they knew any tricks to please try to look for ring while I left car for an oil change. When they called me to say it was ready for pickup I asked about the ring they said we found it right away. Where I asked where? they replied In the seat tracking. I replied I looked there and had moved the seat ms front and back. So happy! read more

My experience with C & M was that I feel totally ripped off because of a repair they charged me $700 for and the car was not fixed; in fact, they misdiagnosed my car and replaced a starter that wasn't the issue. The refurb starter cost ME $521 as what they charged for the part, and when I went online, I found them for under $200. What a ripoff!!!! My car has a crappier starter than the one they took out and my problem still exists ... only I am now out $700 and that was WAY TOO MUCH just to replace a starter. If they had listened to me, they would have found the problem, but they lied to me about the diagnosis (I asked them if they had a machine which would tell them that the starter was the issue) and my starter was not the issue. The fix is much simpler and I will never go back to them for ripping me off! read more

What a letdown. We had used these guys before to have our vehicles serviced and had always found them pleasant, efficient, and cheaper than the dealership. So when my 3 year old Acura's engine began to make a soft, but very distinct, rattling noise I took my car there to get it checked out. One of the technicians took a ride with me to listen to the sound. At first he said he couldn't hear anything. When I asked him if he really couldn't hear something that was not only audible to me but had been commented on by passengers I had had in the car the day before, his explanation was that "remember it's a machine and machines make noise". Hmmmm. I had been driving this car almost daily for 3 years. I had never once expected it to be silent, but I think I had become familiar with what the normal operating sounds were. He either was hard of hearing or more likely unwilling to deal with figuring out what was wrong with it. I would have respected him more if he had just said he had no idea and told me to take it elsewhere. Unhappily I took my car then to the dealership service department who not only heard the abnormal sound right away, but thank goodness was able to figure out what it was and fix it quickly. My family and I have 5 Acuras and Hondas between us. We won't be going back to C and M in the future. read more
