Overall I was very pleased with the shop. My differential started leaking on a 2002 Ford. I brought it in and they said they'd call around noon with an assessment. I ended up calling around 2pm as I hadn't heard from them (my only complaint - a little slow on follow-up) but they had diagnosed the problem and were already working up an estimate. I paid a little over $200 to get a seal replaced and couldn't be happier. It was a job bigger (and dirtier) than I wanted to tackle. They ended up having the repair done late that day. read more

WORST SERVICE EVER! BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. LIARS. MANIPLUATIORS. AND THEY VANDALIZED MY CAR. I brought my car here. My car was drivable but when I tried to accelerate and go pass 40 mph it would jerk before catching again and just staying at a speed below 40mph. Prior to coming in I called and spoke to Rich who seemed so nice and genuine but that was just the beginning of the deception. I explained to Rich that I was thinking I was having transmission issues with my vehicle due to the way it was driving. I let Rich know I was having financial issues and was hoping they were reasonable. Rich reassured me that at A plus transmissions they do payment plans and not to worry about the cost because I could get on a payment plan through them so to bring the car and they could do a free inspection and let me know of the problems and then get me on a plan. They attached my vehicle to the machine reader which indicated that it was in fact the transmission. Rich let me know the next steps to really investigate was to remove my transmission and pin point the issue, that would give him more insight on what could be the problem and making my car not go into 3rd gear, then he could tell me what my monthly payments would be for the payment plan. Rich let me know in order to remove it the price would be close to $675 , which I expressed was a lot for me at the time but he again told me not to worry that this would all be processed for my monthly payments and that the repair could be something small like needing the pump replaced or clean since my fluid levels were fine. Due to not really having the funds I declined the services. After speaking with family members, they encouraged me to just go ahead and let them see what the issue would be and go from there. I called back and told Rich it was okay and to go ahead with the removal. I Spoke with the shop on Wednesday and was told it was the Torque convertor that needed to be replaced and was given an estimate of $6,000. I immediately expressed to him that I didn't have that kind of money and requested to come pick my car up and pay for the services done. I let Rich know my next option was to just try to sell or trade the car in versus spending that kind of money on a 2008 vehicle. Rich then laughed at me over the phone and told me that was basically a dumb idea due to all the money I would be putting out for car notes and things when I can just get on a simple payment plan through A plus transmission for a while and still have my car (which I paid for). We went back and forth about this, but he kept on selling me on the payment plan with them, so I caved. I really wish I would have stuck with my first mind and not have been so foolish because turns out there isnt any payment plan options at A Plus Transmission. I found out when Rich called after almost finishing the vehicle , he let me know he needed some information from me to process my application for the payment plan. He had let me know he texted me the link for it as well, but he could process things quicker over the phone. He asked the basic normal questions anyone would ask like my name, address, phone number, date of birth but then it got weird when he asked for my social, I don't like giving that information out especially over the phone but Rich said it was for the Finance department so they could estimate a good quote for my Payment plan with them, so I gave him my information. It got even more weird when the next question he asked was for my banking information and routing number. I refused to give him that information and told him I didn't have a bank and he responded that he couldn't process my payment plan. He then asked if I atleast had a debit card or could use someone's and I again stated no. Rich let me know that he couldnt move forward with me and that the best thing I could do was open a bank account for the sole purpose of the application. That night I went ahead and opened another bank account through mines and didn't want to wait on Rich so I went ahead and completed the application via the text link he sent me. I completed everything and at the end it told me I was qualified for $1,000. I called the next day and Rich then came clean and let me know he actually had me apply for a loan and set me up for another one with my personal information without my knowledge. I WAS PISSED. He kept saying this was great and all I had to do was sign up for more to total up to the 6,000 repair. I let him know that wasnt happening, that he sold me on a payment plan not loans. He then went on to gaslight me by saying to him they are the same thing. I was then told I would not get my car back unless I applied for more loans or pay out of pocket. I had to reach BBB and corporate to get my car back which they were not happy about and decided to remove several parts to sabotage me from selling it or driving it. JOKES ON THEM CAUSE I GOT MY CAR BACK FREE OF CHARGE AND SOLD IT ! BEWARE they have several cars on bricks also!!! read more

After checking A+ out on the BBB website, I decided to have them repair the trans in our minivan. It turned out to be a tricky repair, but, it helps me keep the van for a few more years. Most importantly, their customer service is the best. Not a single employee talks to you in a condescending manner. Even during the post-Harvey increase in trans repairs, they put up with all my calls checking the status, in a pleasant manner. They were, as usual, busy, but the manager told me that he would put me on the schedule and he would do his best to get me in as quickly as possible. The dealership told me they did not see anything wrong with my transmission when it would occasionally pull in higher gears. I left it with them for a day and they were insisting there was nothing wrong with my vehicle. A few days later, I took it to an automotive shop and they told me I had to completely rebuild my transmission. I sought a second opinion and brought it to A Plus Stafford. This place has been the worst experience that I ever had dealing with my vehicle. I was told off the bat that in order to check my transmission they would have to completely take it off and the cost would be 495 to do so. I looked on the website, after the fact and saw that they give the free diagnostic test. When they finally did so I was told the final cost would be 2950 with new parts or 2762 with rebuilt parts I chose the second option. My truck has been sitting there for weeks because of the lack of communication about the payment plan situation which is the worst ever had it been explained thoroughly I would have chosen to take my truck elsewhere, to begin with. I don't understand how I ended up paying the full amount with new parts when I requested to go the cheap route. Me choosing the cheaper route at 2762 with $100 off coupon brings me to 2662. I paid 1300 in cash, 1500 credit line and 150 with my own credit that's 2950 how in the hell did I end up paying the original price that I did not choose??? This place is very fucking janky and I would not recommend anyone to ever deal with this shit hole!!!!!!!!!! read more

One of the worst shops I've dealt with. Took my vehicle to the Stafford location for transmission work and they have had my vehicle for over 3 months on and off. The first time they gave it back supposedly fixed, it wasn't 2 miles before the vehicle started with problems. After taking the vehicle back for work covered under the warranty, they gave it back to me several times with absolutely no improvement. The vehicle is running worse than when I took it in. The manager and the other people I've dealt with there only skirt around the problem and each time they return the car, they say that t is fixed. A million times I would prefer a mechanic that tells me up front that it will take longer to fix my car to get it right, than have a liar tell me that my car is fixed and then try to do the work they were paid to do in the first place. - and they still haven't fixed my car. read more
