This place has great burgers something in our order is always a miss. I ordered the buffalo burger and it was delicious. My husband has the Bozo burger which was also delicious. We have ordered their onion rings before which were good but this time they packed everything on top of them so they were squished but also soggy and greasy. We need crispy onion rings people!!! They are known for their burgers, the Bozo burger, It looks huge, but they are actually really small and WAY WAY over cooked. However, throw some bacon, Cheese, (I subbed in Cheddar for American). Add some special house sauce, pickles, lettuce tomatoes and it's actually not half bad. Quaint drive-in burger joint. A real Americana experience, but not worth the hype of all the signage. The burger was average, it with a LOT more bun than burger. The onion rings were very good--except that they had been sitting under the heat lamp for at least 10 minutes . Staff are young (high school students likely) and not well managed. When the girl grabbed the onion rings and put them in the bag and turned to grab the burgers it was discovered the burgers hadn't been started. I was riding my motorcycle back from moses lake to portland this past sunday afternoon and was hauling so much ass that I made it to boardman within 75 minutes and had to stop for gas. I saw the drive in and pizza place in the same building behind the chevron gas station and decided to stop in. The Elk burger wss awesome and the waffle fries were crunchy and the cashier was very helpful and informative. I wanted to try the bozo burger but didnt and I am not sure. I had some water and a blackberry shake that was tasty. The ketchup and mustard bottles were cool, which I like, I like my sauces refrigerated. If I could give 10 stars I would! A Yelp find en route back to Salem. Nice little burger joint connected to a pizza parlor. I wasn't all that hungry at the time we stopped, but had read that the onion rings were something special. My boyfriend was in the mood for a burger and fries. There weren't many patrons at midday so we walked right up, looked the baked goods/doughnut display case over, and placed our orders. The waitress was friendly and quick. Our chocolate malt came out before the rest of our order, so we sat and sipped while we waited. It was good, the quality of the ice cream used made for a nice thick and creamy shake. My order of onion rings were upheld their reputation well. The coating used was more of a beer batter than the crumbly panko type, I just wish I had ordered a side of the fry sauce or ranch to go with them (ketchup was on the table, but it's just not the same). I had a big bite of my boyfriend's jalapeno burger. They sure didn't skimp on the jalapenos, that thing was loaded with 'em! Very good burger in my opinion. The couple fries I snagged for sampling purposes were standard fare. We had a cinnamon twist type pastry in a to-go bag, but when I reached in for a piece I found that it was super crumbly and messy. Because of this, we opted to just eat it there in there in the diner. As a huge fan of doughnuts in general, I was disappointed with this one. Ok 5 star reviews are hard for me to give, you have to be darn good, and by darn good I mean excellent in all area's from food, to service, to the cleanliness of the establishment. At this diner they aqauired that fully, it was clean, it was quiet, the cashier was polite and helpful, she was good at her job. I ordered a buffalo burger with american cheese, a large onion ring ( I am a fanatic for onion rings) and a large ice tea. The buffalo burger was scrumptious, and very filling to the point I couldn't finish all my golden rings of goodness, so I took my rings with me, they were delicious from the few I ate. Now the tea was perfect they reached the perfect darkness to where it wasn't an over powering flavor, but you could still taste the strength, I love a good ice tea and this was an excellent ice tea. My husband and I ate outside on the patio at a nice little table with an umbrella, the cashier had brought out our food when we finished my husband brought our tray back inside while I went to our vehicle, when he came out he had bought something. A freshly baked pumpkin chocolate chip cookie, and a freshly made brownie. Talk about wide eyed and drooling, I am like a little kid to full for the rest of my food but I ALWAYS have that dessert spot open, I devoured the pumpkin chocolate chip cookie it was like I died and gone to a blissful heaven, it was the best cookie I've ever eaten and the brownie is like a second heaven so rich and chocolatey. This used to be the best. Over the past decade, it's declined in quality by a lot. It's not even worth going anymore. Everything from the burgers to the shakes to the service has just gone way downhill. Unless they do something to bring back the quality it once had under different ownership, I won't be going back. There was a young girl with her baby going in and out of the back, it wasn't bothering me at all it just made me feel very at home.well I waited a bunch of people came in, several of them were wearing matching bright yellow shirts like a construction crew, it must've been about time for a local factory or something to have gotten lost. They all started ordering things and definitely seemed to be comfortable with the place. It took a while for my sausage dog to come out and when it did it didn't look like much. I was a little skeptical well I walked out to my car. I got him and took a bite. That is another bite. And then I took another bite. It was fantastic. Very interesting as well not what I was expecting. The bun had a certain creaminess to it. The hotdog really seem like it had been cooked in kraut. It had that kind of authentic texture. It was not much to look at but it was something you would've got at your grandma's house. Great place, I always try to find mom and pop burger places when I am on a road trip. This place is great, the "Bozo Burger" is the way to go. Honest burger, nothing crazy just really good. The onion rings are battered and friend and awesome! If you have a sweet tooth they have great shakes and you most tried they homemade brownies, just like my mom used to make! I was so disappointed. Came in for coffee and a burger, i asked if we could have our coffee first. They told us it had to be made so it would be served with our food. Our food came but the coffee didn't. I went back inside to get it and she told me the coffee machine hasn't been turned on.
