Traveling from Portland to Lewiston and stopped at the rest stop in Boardman. My love doesn't think she can make it another hour to Kennewick and I saw a billboard sign by the Loves truck stop. Burnt Field Pizza. I look it the reviews, and the photos, and she said yasss please. Mom too. I got to tell you I got a lot of pizza reviews from the Canadian border to the California border and everywhere in between, all up and down 1-5 and across I-84. This is in my top 5. The photos I saw show this humongous crust and I thought I'd be giving it mostly to my three dogs we were traveling with. Nope. Nice and thin. Great chew. Folded like the ones I get in NYC. Really fresh ingredients. Super friendly staff. Don't know how I missed his place over the many years I took this route but that won't be the case going forward. Boardman?? There's not a lot there but you got to try the pizzas at this place. They got one for every taste. The side salad was incredible with totally fresh ingredients and cashews. We stopped at Burnt Field mid-afternoon for a much-needed caffeine fix as we had seen a billboard along the highway advertising that they sold coffee. When we arrived, we were informed that they did not actually sell coffee any longer. Despite being disappointed, my husband decided to grab a beer and I ordered a seltzer. The space itself was simple with ample indoor and outdoor seating. Apparently they are known for their pizza, but we had just eaten lunch not too long prior and were not hungry. I don't know if we would ever find ourselves in this area of Oregon again but if we did, we might come back to try the pizza. read more

We waited over 45 minutes for our pizza and finally the server, (after we said something), went to check on the pizza. It was evident that it was still in the oven, because it was burnt and the crust was really tough and difficult to eat. When we got back to our rental, we had to eat things to get the taste out of our mouth. read more

The business was beautiful. Great decor and ambiance. The server met me at the door and was very nice. I ordered a beer and a pizza to go. Boardman Blonde was very nice. So this place must have secretly knew I was coming today, they have a huge Cleveland Brown's poster on the wall as you walk in,,,,,,,,nicely played Okay, let's start off with the liquid refreshments. They have three of their own on tap, plus an ever changing selection of other beers. I'm a blonde fan, so I went with the Boardman blonde, and I have to say it was impressive. I think it could go toe to toe with Deschutes's bitter bitch. So I guess we have a tie for first place. The pizza was also solid. It comes out of a wood fired oven. The crust is made in house daily, and has a nice bite and a solid flavor. The sauce is solid, not overpowering, but with just a nice tang to it. The cheese was a nice mix, and was applied perfectly. Just a nice equal coverage. The rest of the toppings were quality, and fairly topped. Overall, not the best pizza I've ever had, but a really, really solid pie, and really worth the price. There is a nice outdoor seating area with games and activities. Indoors is nice with tables and a nice bar to sit at. Both indoor and outdoor have views of the Columbia river. Drawbacks, bring cash, they charge a $2 fee for cards. Adding toppings to your pizza is also a bit expensive at $4 a topping. Which makes building your own a real investment. read more

It was a beautiful spot to let our whole family, pup included, sprawl out and play. Our server was super sweet and made sure we felt completely at home to roam and play with all the lawn toys. Ok. If you like quaint, off the main drag places...this is for you. The place got my attention when I saw the road signs boasting craft beer and "legit" pizza. Sold. Boardman is not a place I would expect either (sorry, B...it's just your remoteness). But once you drive up to the place you are immediately captured by the homeyness of the building and the property. Go inside and you find a standard restaurant and long bar. We were warmly greeted and seated, and placed our order. I had a house IPA and my daughter had an ice tea to drink. We were first presented four freshly baked breadsticks (2 each of cheese and butter/garlic). They were soft and had a nice sweet wheaty nuttiness. The pizza came next. We opted for a BYO with pepperoni and Canadian bacon. Great look and flavor...though I thought there was a little too much cheese (my daughter disagrees). A lot to love about this little place - beer, pizza and service were excellent. Very nice outdoor seating area, great for dogs and kids (tho you can't drink alcohol in outside seating area). The only think I would suggest is that some music would add to the atmosphere - it's too quiet inside, so you are hearing too much of everyone else's conversations. read more

Pizza is good but it varies every time you go. Some days it can be cooked perfectly but other days it's burnt on bottom and over cooked. They need to step it up in the salads though, too much spinach, needs to be more of a blend or mix. Beer is good but they need to offer more ciders. Smaller inside but outside seating is also available. We will be back! read more

Burnt Field Brewing was a great stop that Steven and I made when we were touring breweries in and along the Columbia River and Gorge. Boardman was one of our stops and I've really been waiting to make out in this direction for a while to explore and be a tourist in general. Burnt Field has their own craft beers and a great pizza menu! We ordered the 15:10 To Yuma pizza which won me over instantly with it's poblano pepper base and tortilla strips added on the top. Unique southwest flavor that one doesn't usually think to associate with a pizza. We also got the Boardman Blonde off of the beer menu which was very refreshing and how could it not pair well with pizza?! The location for the brewery and restaurant is very scenic as you can stroll across the road and get some great pictures of the Columbia River! read more

Best joint in town. We stayed down the road at the fancy river hotel. The on site restaurant is rated subpar. Trust those reviews. This gem is awesome. Very nice employees. My daughter had "pizza bones" with cheese and garlic. I had the Alfredo pasta with chicken. Delicious! Moscow Mule was delicious and well-made. Wasn't super busy Tuesday night, when we dined. I've been visiting this place every time we come to Boardman, and it's normally great. However, our experience today was quite disappointing. We ordered water, two drinks, and wings to start. The drinks arrived, but we never got our water. After waiting a while, I decided to go inside to order two salads since service was few and far between. When I went in, I noticed our wings just sitting on the check-in counter, and the staff didn't seem to know who they belonged to. After an hour of waiting, our server finally came to our table. We mentioned that we never received our waters, and shockingly, we were asked if we wanted them to go! No, we just wanted a drink to enjoy while we waited for our pizza. When I checked on our pizza, I was told that it was made incorrectly and had to be remade. Then I had to go find somebody and ask when our pizza would be completed and it comes out not even a minute later cold and soggy. It's hard to believe it was even put in correctly to begin with.I've always enjoyed this place, but the service today was definitely not up to par. Can't believe I had to pay for service like that. I would like to add. I also came here last night and service was amazing and the pizza was perfect. I don't like making bad yelp reviews, but this was absolutely needed.. read more

Craft Beer and Legit pizza had my attention immediately. If you have ever been to Boardman, you know it is a small town with not much in the way of plentiful eats and it especially lacks a variety of drinking selections. But wait, Fear not. Burnt Field has you covered, Lots of beers, salads, appetizers, pretty sweet menu of gourmet Pizzas and I really mean the gourmet part. This joint is off the beaten path, then again there really isn't really a beaten path here at all. Burnt Field brewing looks like an old train station, the decor hints towards that as well. They have an outdoor patio to enjoy if the weather would ever cooperate. Their space is open and inviting with a huge bar. They make amazing beers here and keep them on tap of course. They have other beers too but I stuck to a couple that were crated by them. First up while I waited for my pie was The Mile Marker IPA, it is a big powerful beer that has a great color and tastes amazing. Next I tried the the Clear IPA, it seemed a bit lighter and not as big as the other IPA. As it name implies its color was much lighter but, that didn't take anything away from its flavor. While I am on the topic of beer. The folks at Burnt Field have growlers big and small. You can take beer with ya, and when you want more, just bring your growler in and they will fill it back up for you. They sell pizza by the slice too. They make it pretty simple to enjoy good handmade pizza and beer. The pizza that I chose was the German, sauerkraut and Canadian bacon really tasted amazing. Don't be scared. Try it. The service here was really really good. My server knew everything there was to know about her domain. She knew the beers well and the menu even better. Rating this based on the rather remote location and selections in the Boardman town. It's a fun little restaurant brewery but with a family friendly vibe which we loved. Lots of yard games and outdoor seating and bonus is that majority of the outdoor area is shaded during dinner time. The brews are quite enjoyable and the service was excellent. Also, if you have a little one, a train passes right behind the restaurant for some additional entertainment. Surprisingly the train passing wasn't loud and jarring either for its proximity. The salad was fresh and the wings were definitely a winner also. They bake the wings and then deep fry them so the skin was crispy and non existent (how I like them) comparable to how hooters wings were. The pizza was decent, it was good and they have two sizes big and huge. We got the big and it was plenty, it could easily feed 3 hungry adults or a family of 4 if paired with an appetizer. read more

Burnt Field Brewing is absolutely essential to this area of Eastern Oregon. It is a solid brewery with great pizza, typical bar food done right and a well rounded drink menu as well. They have indoor and outdoor seating and when the outdoor seating is open they are one of few dog friendly spots around. I'll be looking forward to the next chance I have to visit. read more

Traveling back and forth on I84 I kept seeing a billboard saying "legit pizza had come to Boardman." Well we never much stopped at Boardman. Unless you dealt with the port, or the farms there wasn't much reason to other than fuel or a quick burger from another establishment. Not that Boardman isn't a lovely place with great access to the Columbia river. But prior to the coming of google storage facility (I think it's google) Boardman was mostly known to the rest of the state as the birth place of dense dust storms and heavy fog sometimes at the same time and often slowing traffic to a crawl. But, I've digressed. So the billboard, over and over I see it. And I think i need a reason to stop and try this place. Finally the timing is going to be right, we'll be by Boardman around 1:30 in the afternoon. Hungry after 6+ hours on the road. So the wife looks it up and says yeah looks like it might be good. Gets the directions off the highway and away we go. I actually drove past it the 1st time cause I thought it was a park. It's in the original 1916 train depot they've renovated. The building looks much the same and has picnic tables around the outside of it. Again I've digressed. The menu looks interesting and varied but not too large which is okay. We ended up with a side salad (which is very healthy sized) and can easily act as a starter for 2 people. The iceburg and spinach combo is nice with chunks of bell pepper, cucumber, tomato and cashews makes a delightful salad. The rainbow carrot shreds were a little dry but the only misstep of the meal. The blue cheese dressing had nice chunks of blue cheese in it and they give you enough to easily take care of the salad. For pizza we got the Chase, with bacon alfredo sauce, chicken, bacon, gr peppers, artichoke hearts and tomatoes. We got the large and it was plenty big. The crust was almost perfect and had a good flavor on it's own. It was cheesy enough to string as you pulled the slices apart and the over all flavor was abundantly delicious. I've got to admit the billboard was 100% correct, legit pizza has come to Boardman, and we will certainly be trying to time stops here again to coincide with lunch or dinner. read more

Stopped by for pizza, salad and beer. We sat outside and server came out to us and took our order in a timely manner. We tried a splash of all 3 of their beers and ending up ordering 2 of them (Blonde and IPA). Both were pretty tasty and we ended up ordering a couple rounds :) Salad was good-enjoyed the cashews on it and great ranch dressing. The pizza was good as well-we got just a classic pepperoni. Not super crispy but not doughy. We are glad we stopped during a roadtrip and truly enjoyed the outside environment. read more

We had pepperoni pizza, steak salad, and ziti, wings, and fries.. The pizza was okay but pretty greasy, the salad had very little steak and was a ton of spinach. The Ziti was macaroni with prego and 2 melted string cheese sticks. We were sat at a dirt table, waited over an hour after ordering for our food, and had to ask multiple time for water refills. Our server checked on us twice the whole time and offered a pitcher of water and never brought it. We had to ask for forks, and plates from the food runner. Twice 2 other tables were disgruntled and complaining about service and one waited over 25 mins to be greeted. A third family came inside from eating outside with 2 small kids and sat at a dirty table to finish their food because of the bug's swarming them outside. Many visits here over the years. We eat here every time we are in Boardman. Pizza is always great. Plenty of beer, wine and cocktails variety. What we've seen is that on holidays- especially in summer- you're going to have to be patient. They get slammed during peak hours on Friday-Sunday. Also, like most restaurants in Boardman, there is a worker shortage. So, staffing is short and the workers have a hard time- but they do the best they can. Plan ahead if it's busy. But it's worth the wait. Nice outdoor seating and pleasant indoor as well. My star ratings over the years has varied due to the service experience. But I've resolved that they are a consistent 4 out of 5. read more
