Terrible Service absolutely incredible! I brought my laptop in because my computer had issues booting up. 05/07/11 When I brought in my laptop I met a guy who quickly diagnosed the problem as being a hard drive failure. He then told me he would take a look at the laptop TODAY and CALL ME BACK for the estimated cost. No call... (saturday) The first time is forgivable. I gave them a few days then called them back on Wednesday to check up on the status of my computer. The guy who answered the phone said he'd take a look at the computer TODAY (wed) and CALL ME BACK on estimated cost. (Hey I'm just looking for an estimate guys) No call... (wednesday) I called them back on Thursday and again got the same response "We'll call you back" No call... (thursday) Being fed up at this point I decided to take my laptop back on Friday so I showed up and took my laptop.. I don't believe it should take this long just to come up with an estimate for a hard drive failure and data recovery pricing. So I showed up and took my laptop on Friday but here's the KICKER... they said they looked at my computer and could not retrieve my data back. Saturday I decided to do some research on retrieving data from a dead hard drive. I was able within 15 - 20 minutes of googling use a system recovery disk, go to the command prompt and copy *all* my data on my dead hard drive to a back up hard disk. (And I know NOTHING about fixing computers until now) What I plan to do now is buy a new hard drive and install windows 7 and fix everything myself. At this point I figure I can probably get things done faster and a lot more cheaper than these "professionals" can. It's not the fact that they took soooo long that bothered me. If they were upfront and honest that they were really busy and it might take a week or two to get back to me that is *totally fine*. What IRKS me the most is that these guys told me explicitly they would: 1. Start looking at the computer TODAY 2. Call me back (which they never did in any of the three attempts when I called them) 3. Tell me that they could not retrieve data from my hard drive when (I being a newbie was able to do this very easily) So why is this important and what does this mean for you as a customer. 1. They are dishonest and do not care about their customers. Just imagine going out on a date with your favorite celebrity. Would you tell them you'd call them back and never do? If that's the way they treat you as a customer do you think they are going to give as much care and quality in fixing your computer? I wonder how many customers got overcharged for something that maybe takes about 10 - 20 minutes to fix? 2. If I wasn't totally suspicious about them already due my conclusion I made above I would have thought that my hard drive and all my precious pictures and data on it were completely lost and would have to pay $$$$ to retrieve them from a professional data recovery services company. Either that or I would have wallowed in hopelessness and tossed my hard drive away losing many years of pictures. Well it looks like the "experts" were wrong and I was able to back up *all* my data from my bad hard drive easily and for FREE. read more

I took my computer in when it wouldn't start. As expected it was a bad power supply. They fixed it in a couple hours and charged me $85 which I think is pretty reasonable. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because I asked the person to tell me what hard drive I needed to replace one of the drives in my raid 1 array. He forgot to take a look so I wasn't able to buy the drive. read more

I cannot say enough positive things about this place. I cracked my MacBook Air screen and knew it was going to be a hefty price tag to fix. I went around San Mateo and Millbrae area to obtain estimates and these guys were great with their customer service and responsiveness. While other places were complaining how "complicated" the labor could be and that it would take long to ship the replacement, C&C was so efficient with their process. They took down my Mac's serial number and within 15 minutes, they called me back with their very reasonable estimate (others were providing me an estimate of well over $500 dollars). Not only that, C&C mentioned they can complete the replacement within 24-48 hours of me dropping it off. Talk about amazing and speedy service! Update: I went in there yesterday because my other laptop stopped connecting to the Internet through WiFi and through the Ethernet cable. I have been on chat and phone support with the computer manufacturer for two days prior. They couldn't do anything. I brought it back to Calvin. He was able to connect to the Internet, no problem. Our desktop had died and we called Calvin after finding this place on Yelp. We called at closing time but he told me to come by anyway. Calvin was able to troubleshoot the problem on the spot (power supply issue) and then stayed after to not only fix the problem but also to answer additional questions I had. I wanted to also buy some extra RAM for my desktop (which would have been more business for him) but he took a look at my computer and said that the extra RAM would not have helped me given that my PC was already maxed out given the specs of my PC and the OS I was running. I can't say enough great things about this place! I panicked yesterday morning when my 6 year-old Sony Vaio laptop would not boot, and I hadn't backed up any of my data in over a week. I immediately took it to Calvin who had done a great job repairing my husband's laptop a month ago after it got water damage. It turned out that my hard drive was kaput, but they were able to save all my data and offered me the option of putting a new hard drive in for a very reasonable price. I opted instead to purchase a new laptop since I was previously having all sorts of other problems with my Vaio, and wanted a faster processor, etc. From there I worked with Terence who transferred all of my data from my old laptop to the new one in a matter of a few hours! And, the price they charged was beyond reasonable. Best service I've ever had...and everyone was so knowledgeable and nice to work with. If you read the review earlier, I have since changed it, as I learned from Calvin that he's been very busy working visiting customers on sight. After reading the reviews I decided to bring in my 5 year old Dell Desktop that was taking a long time to boot up and internet surfing over the cable connection was extremely slow. i think this guy knows nothing but changing motherboard (which will cost you $400). i took my laptop to this guy around 6 months ago for jack problem and he said we have to change motherboard but even tough he change the motherboard 3 time my computer was having the same problem.2 weeks ago i took computer to one guy in mountain view and he only repair the jack which only took 1 day ( by the way from calvin it took 1.5 months to give computer back) and $100 to fix my computer working extremely fine now and as per calvin i visited him this morning maybe he can pay me half of the money but he has been very nasty and told me he cannot do nothing as he did to my computer and charged $400 thank you calvin not fixing my computer and stealing my money read more

Dead in the water and praying my data could be saved. Of course happened Friday night. Brought my computer to Calvin Sat. morning. He even took it home with him over the weekend to work on it (!) and was ready Monday morning. All data saved and virus gone! No need to even reload everything on my computer.
