    Happy Hour food

We came here on a Thursday afternoon around 4:15pm and Happy hour was going on until 6pm. Cocktails were tasty but honestly, the food was just okay. The ambiance is definitely on par for a lakefront location. Our server was friendly & attentive but the hostess was a bit condescending. It is not a place for catching up because we felt rushed.

CōV in Wayzata delivers a refined take on chicken piccata. The chicken was tender with a light golden sear, while the lemon-butter sauce balanced richness with bright citrus and just enough briny capers. The angel hair was cooked perfectly and soaked up every bit of the sauce. Fresh herbs finished the dish beautifully. A great choice if you're looking for a lighter, elegant pasta in a relaxed lakeside setting.

We went to COV Wayzata for Sunday brunch and really enjoyed our experience. The complimentary caramel roll was absolutely delicious to start with, and we also tried the crab cake (fantastic!) and the truffle fries. The ambiance was wonderful as always--the décor at COV is one of my favorites and creates such a great atmosphere. The only downside this time was that service felt a bit on the slower side. That said, we still love COV--it's consistently a great spot and one we'll definitely be back to!

I came here on a rainy day with a friend and the view was incredible, even with the gloom! Would love to come back on a clear day. We ordered the halibut ceviche which was super refreshing. I had the walleye fish and chips - the battered was really well fried and thin, the fries were average, but I loved the tartar sauce. My friend had the Cobb salad with grilled chicken - she enjoyed it but it had a bit too much dressing. Service was good and prices are HIGH, you're definitely paying for the view.

I went to COV to celebrate my 21st birthday, and while the evening had some nice moments, overall it didn't quite live up to expectations. The service was just okay--not rude or anything, but not particularly warm or attentive either. It felt a little rushed, and for a special occasion, I was hoping for a bit more care. One thing that was disappointing: happy hour is only available at the bar, which wasn't made super clear when we were seated. We found out too late, and that definitely affected our experience. The food itself was decent, but the portion sizes felt small for the price. Everything looked nice, but for what I paid, I expected a little more in terms of quantity and overall value.

My boyfriend and I came here for lunch and had an overall amazing experience! Service was great, we came and were seated immediately with no wait. I had the grain bowl and my boyfriend had the chicken piccata which we really enjoyed! However the artichoke is what really was the star, it surpassed both of our expectations so much! I really recommend people give it a try from the appetizer list. Everything inside is decorated very well and I love that you can look out on the lake while dining. My only suggestion is for them to make the grain bowl warm rather than cold, especially for the winger it would be better in my opinion! Plenty of free parking options available and it's a great upscale restaurant to swing by for lunch or dinner. Melissa was our server and she was great as well!

Cov has a great ambiance. I like the closeness to the water. The food is not memorable though. I have been many times, and I am always not excited by the food. Plus it is very $$$. I tried the burger and a sushi roll. Both were not worth the price tag as they were just average. Nothing to write home about. I appreciated that our waitress cut the burger in half for my friend and I who were splitting them!

Absolutely beautiful! I loved every single detail about this place from start to finish. Starting with beautiful outdoor seating with lake views and florals everywhere. The indoor decor also did not disappoint with more florals and lighting. We started with the calamari - it was amazing. We also had the lobster roll and clam chowder. This was the best lobster roll I have had, including those from Maine and Montauk. So flavorful and the roll was toasted to perfection. Clam chowder was also delicious. I would say this was the best meal of our trip to Minnesota!

I read some reviews before ordering and the reviews for food recs were spot on! The Parker Rolls were so delicious - a pretzel roll with 3 creamy butter options. And there was plenty of butter so you don't run out of it before you finish your rolls (big win!). I got the sweet corn cavatelli and my hubs got the lamb shoulder. Both were really yummy. I love that the cavatelli has a little spice to it as it really elevated that flavor profile. Definitely will be back! Really loved the experience and will stop by for post-dinner drinks sometime :)

We had the bananas foster for dessert and could have licked the dish clean! We also had the grasshopper and pink lady which were a fun treat. I highly recommend and look forward to going back soon.

Our service was great and our waitress was really knowledgeable. I really enjoyed all of the food we got but was disappointed in the size/amount of pieces in the king grab sushi roll for $28. The rolls were good but for the price and amount of crab on the roll I couldn't justify ordering it again. The corn esquites side dish was incredible and I even ordered one to go for my husband to try! I would come back for this dish alone. The crispy rice and spicy tuna was tasty as well. The space is nice but the menu was maybe too far out of my taste range (as a picky eater). They have a bit of a Japanese-Mexican fusion which is interesting. There used to be a place with this concept off of 394 by ridgedale mall (now it's an olive garden) but I wondered if this was the same place however this place is more upscale.

It's extremely noisy, and the tables are very close together. We had to listen to a little boy watching cartoons on his phone the entire evening, which was NOT what I was planning for our 25th anniversary dinner. Touching on our anniversary, I called and made a reservation 3 weeks prior and begged the host on the phone to put us in a quiet corner, not in the middle of the room. I had very special plans and was going to present my wife with a beautiful new diamond ring to replace the one she got 15 years ago on our 10th. When we arrived, we were placed at a very small table right smack in the middle of the room!!! I asked the host when she tried to seat us if she could please put us in the corner table, which was vacant, and was told no, this is the best table we can give you. I was NOT HAPPY!!! Completely ruined every plan I had. We worked through the table location and made the best of what we were given. The waiter was very polite and professional and took very good care of us. The food was delicious and despite the table location, it was an awesome evening. I will say this to anybody reading... do NOT go here if you're looking for a quiet romantic evening. It's not the place. Otherwise... 100% recommended!!!!

The most uncomfortable thing is finding a place to park. If you can't find a spot in the lot, tracking down a street spot that isn't only 1 hour can be a challenge or a bit of a walk. We started with cocktails and Bread is Life appetizer (5/5). Bread is indeed life. We needed two baguettes to eat the three butters/sauces. The whipped ricotta and honey was my favorite, but the chimichurri was a close second. For entrees we split the Beet and Watermelon King Salmon Salad (3/5), A Fat Burger (5/5), Chilled Lobster Roll (4/5), and the Spicy Lobster Mac and Cheese (5/5). The salad was good, but the salmon didn't have enough seasoning for me. It's also more of a traditional watermelon salad vs lettuce salad. The lobster roll was good, but of course mostly bread. It was a hardy sandwich and filled more than other restaurants. The burger was in fact fat, cheesy and juicy. The sandwiches come with hand cut fries (5/5) and an aioli. While the Mac and cheese says it's spicy, it's more of a Minnesota spice. It's a shareable portion, but no more than 3 people if they have other food. For dessert we ordered the Mud Moon Pie (4/5). When they say it's served with a knife they mean it. The portion size is huge! Like 6-12 people could eat on it. We ended up sharing with the table next to us. We were warned it was shareable, but I wish there would have been a smaller portion option to select. We felt so wasteful not being able to eat even half of it. We loved our server. We never felt rushed, our water glasses were never empty and she split the bill with our individual dishes and then split the shared items (I love when they do this vs giving us one bill). While the prices are a little high, the portion sizes and quality of food make it worth it.

However, it started going downhill when a dish was brought out by a runner before any of the other dishes and was set on our table without silverware. She left without bringing silverware and it would be a full 5 minutes before our server was able to be flagged down to get us silverware. We noted that this dish needed to be refired and brought out with the remaining dishes. After 15 minutes more the rest if the meal came out, and you guessed it, the original "needs to be refired" dish came out 5 minutes later. My wife's pasta was cold. Not lukewarm. Cold. Think I just opened a can of chef boyardee's and poured on a plate cold. It was disgusting. Oh and the "refired spaghetti" (buttered noodles) was also cold. The chicken parm (which their version is deep fried chicken) was warm but unseasoned and the breading was oil sogged because the frying oil was clearly not hot enough. This place gets 1 star. My favorite part was when the runner was doing her makeup in a mirror behind the hostess stand in the middle of the dining room. At a price of $183 for two for pasta this place needs to rethink their workers, their menu, and how they are going to keep attracting people. Shut down for three weeks and learn how to run your restaurant! That the Strib gave these guys a glowing review is beyond me. Very emperor's new clothes.
