Lovely little bar in main shopping area of Barcelona. The decor inside is inviting and retro. There's a lot of options to choose from and we enjoyed every dish. The Iberico ham was salty and melt in your mouth. The servers are nice and they try their best to communicate in English. The menus are in English so we were able to manage. Casual place with solid tapas. Nothing particularly fancy, but good food and drink and friendly service

Great unassuming tapas place to duck into for a little respite from your walking journey. We tried the steak skewers, hummus, papas, and the meat & cheese plate. All solid along with the freshly made sangria that cleanses the palate! Stay for two! The vibe was great with patrons, passers by, and local rhythmic music that fused in with conversations. Fantastic service and recommendations from the bartender. We'll have to stop in for coffee and desserts on our next adventure through the neighborhood! read more

This is a very intimate setting and a little intimidating at first, due to its size, but it's quite welcoming once you find your place. The drinks are well-poured and the food is well-prepared. However, the mini burger will come out very undercooked, which seems to be the standard in Spain, so be aware. Overall, well worth the visit and my senses were delighted. This is NOT A BREAKFAST PLACE. If you want a fast coffee with your morning pack of cigarettes like most Spaniards, this fits your style. With so many small cafes in the immediate area, this was a huge disappointment. The other reviews do not reflect the limited breakfast menu. Small cramped tables and chairs. I think if I lived in El Raval, or Barcelona in general, this would be my go-to spot. The grilled octopus was so delicious we ordered it again during the same meal. The place is really compact and can get uncomfortably packed, but that's no deal breaker. Get ready for the Spanish carefree service style, and you should be good. There are plenty of food and beverage items on the menus to keep you occupied and content. We had the octopus (take two), steak, and shrimp with garlic, among other things. What can you possibly complain about when your server can keep the cava flowing for hours at €2.50 apiece? Did I mention there's also open wifi (after they make you like them on facebook) and the typical feel-good European bar vibe that's hip, young, and full of energy? Get comfortable in the booth with cushions if you can, and watch the crowd flow in and out while you feel perfectly happy that you can relax with the company of excellent food and drinks. read more

After looking for a specific tapas bar we couldn't find, we happened upon Cèntric. My friend ordered a well done burger (I know, but that's the way she likes it, no pink at all, a travesty). A nearly raw in the middle, bloody burger was brought which was sent back. Second one wasn't raw, but it wasn't much more cooked either. Sent back. Third was cooked how a burger SHOULD be cooked IMHO (medium rare) but sadly NOT close to HER requested well done. She was told that they "couldn't cook it more" (until it was well done???) and that was the color of the meat. Despite not being what she wanted, she was given the option of paying for it and they would throw it away or paying for it and taking it home. I've never heard of a place charging a customer for something they were too inept to cook. Other than that, beers were fine, service was slow but ok, shrimp and potato salad tapas were ok, but nothing amazing. Place was cramped, and not in a cozy way, just cramped. Overall it was a very underwhelming last dinner and drinks in Barcelona. Would get 3-4 stars but charging us for a hamburger THEY couldn't cook to order reduces it to 1. read more

Authentic tapasbar in a side alley of la Rambla. Lovely Retro interior, with lots of wood, really cosy. The food was amazing. We took the menu of the week (2 persons), 6 tapas, glass of wine for only 25 euros. The tapas were excellent, one of the best we have had in Barcelona. read more

We only went there for breakfast, but the first time was good so we went again on the morning we left Barcelona. In May we were staying three nights at a hotel on Carrer del Pelais, one street over. We had seen the Centric on our first wander around the neighborhood, and had noted it as a possible place to try it for dinner. The next morning we were walking around El Raval looking for a place for breakfast. The menu board caught our attention and we went in. Crowded and noisy, but friendly service. Good coffee, ok pastry, good breakfast sandwiches, good fruit and yogurt. We never made it there for dinner because we found ourselves is different parts of town every evening. Friends were visiting Barcelona last week, staying in the same neighborhood, and I recommended Centric. They reported back that they went there for dinner and liked it a lot. read more

This place is very good. Our service was great and the waiter was very nice. Our food was delicious. We got meatballs, shrimp, artichoke and sausage, egg with ham, and lemon pie. Everything was amazing. Though the restaurant is small and a little cramped it was one of our best meals in Spain. read more
