'The old neighborhood bakery & café is a treasured institution. In much of the world if one of these establishments has been around for about 50 years it is considered a tradition. But time and years are different in Vienna. How about a bakery/café that has been around since 1536? That's almost 500 years or half a millennium. I love their Salzstangerl which I eat with my favorite Bergkäse (mountain cheese). I don't know if the people who have worked there through the centuries have always been so friendly ... but they sure are in the 21st Century.
If you're in Vienna, explore the narrow streets and alleys of the old town ... and maybe you'll come across the classic Bakery Grimm. As soon as you see it, you will def want to go inside and enjoy one of their treats. read more
