    Chicken tender sandwich

This was my second time coming to this place and I came back for a reason! Not only is the chicken fantastic, the service is just as awesome. I met both the owners Mike and Manny on 2 separate occasions and they definite give you amazing service with a smile! These 2 owners are super proud of their food and they take pride in making it! If you are looking for basic fast food fried chicken .... This place is not it! You can go to "Dave's hot chicken" for that! NOW if you are looking for the most crunchiest and flavorful chicken...... THIS is your spot! If you notice .... It takes more than a few min for your food to come out, and it's because they are battering and frying your chicken on the spot! Be patient and you will be rewarded!!! If you are a fan of texture.... This super crispy and crunchy chicken will have you smiling! Do yourself a favor and get the crispy green beans..... healthier than fries and tastes just as good! As for their spice level... they are pretty spot on with them! I had a mild the first time and medium the second time.... Pretty accurate based on my palette! Looking forward to going back!

Byrd's Hot Chicken is a chain of nine quick service spicy chicken restaurants. Hot chicken is a type of fried chicken that is a specialty of Nashville, Tennessee. Hot sauce and cayenne added to the coating makes the chicken spicy and delicious. Byrd's has locations in California and Florida and in Midwestern states like Illinois and Indiana. The first Florida location recently opened in Boynton Beach in the Cross Creek Shopping Centre. They plan on expanding to Pembroke Pines. The menu features hot chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, wings, nuggets, and the famous Byrd Bomb made with diced chicken tenders, cheese, slaw, 24k sauce, and pickles which is then served on a bed of fries and toast. All of the chicken is cage free, all natural, antibiotic free, halal, and hand cut. You can have your chicken mild, medium, hot, and supahot. There is even a plant-based sandwich called the Rebel, and a decadent Chick N' Donut made with hot chicken with pickles on a glazed donut. For dessert there are three flavors of cake shakes. They offer all day specials and game day specials. I ordered the sandwich combo, a chicken tender on a toasted bun with slaw, 24K sauce, pickles, fries, and potato salad. I chose mild and it still packed heat. The chicken was extra crispy and juicy. The crinkle cut fries were perfectly cooked and I really liked the creamy potato salad. The guys working were super nice. Everything is made fresh to order so allow at least 20 minutes for your food. The dining room has roomy tables and chairs and bar counters along the windows and it is decorated with chicken and local sports team graphics. You can catch whatever game is playing on one the TV's while you wait.

Stopped in here last Sunday, 2-2-25, for an early lunch at this Great place my wife found from recommendations a Couple Months back by West Palm Yelpers ... and right they were! We ordered a Two Sandwich Special from the Specials board which included drinks and fries. I chose spicy and my wife got Mild (which is not a problem). We ordered fries, and were pleasantly surprised ( Thanks Manny) to get to try their excellent Potato Salad, made with Red Bliss potatoes and not swimming in mayonnaise... may skip the fries next time, (which were good) and double up on the potato salad. Each order is cooked fresh and the finished product shows that! The best Fried Chicken I have ever eaten! (Sorry mom! ) When there was a pause we got a chance to chat with Manny, Manager and partner, in this restaurant getting a foothold in Florida. He told us that they started in California, (you can google that if it's your thing ;-) ), and with his many years in Retail, he felt it was a good fit to bring these delicious dishes to Florida! (Apparently the other principals agreed and chose him to anchor the Florida Operations.) Manny was born and grew up in my hometown of Hialeah. He knows Florida and the snowbirds, so he will steer Byrd's in the direction! I asked many about the heat and he explained the sauce and that the dry rub is crafted from spices imported from India, and the California labs blend. Nice touch and not over bearing. Manny told us that the next opening will be in Pembroke Pines, a lot closer to his South Dade home, but he will be a presence in each. Thank you Manny and Byrd's for a great meal! Thank you West Palm Yelp Community for the recommendations! Glad to see other Yelpers and coming here too!

We stopped here for an early lunch this past Sunday. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but we both fell in love with this fast, casual restaurant that features chicken. After ordering, we had a long conversation with the co-owner. He and his brother and two others opened this place as the first location in Florida of a chain that was begun in California. Manny is Florida born (my husband and he discussed hospitals, etc. etc. as they're both "native" Floridians). It took a bit of time and effort to open here as there were lots of permits and reconstruction necessary. They're planning on more locations -- in Pembroke Pines and Tamarac, etc. Enough history -- you can see that on Google/Wikipedia if you like that sort of thing. On to the food! Which was wonderful. They offer a lot of options from chicken nuggets for the kids to chicken tenders. There's even a sandwich on a sweet donut instead of a bun. The menu is on the board behind the counter. There are kiosks to order or you can just give your order directly. And there's an "all day" specials board above the area closer to the soda machine. We decided to share the 2-sandwich combo. This comes with regular fries and fountain drinks. The sandwiches are chicken tenders on a bun with coleslaw, pickles, and kc sauce. Although the restaurant is called hot chicken, you don't have to order it overly spicy. They have various levels of spice: plain/no spice, mild, medium, or hot. I got my sandwich with my chicken plain and asked for the sauce to be served on the side and fries well done. We also got to taste their potato salad. The white meat chicken tender was huge, lightly battered, and perfectly cooked. Just delicious. Although I liked the fries, I much preferred the red bliss potato salad. My husband got his sandwich with everything on it and at a medium spice level. He also really liked his sandwich. We are definitely coming back here. Lunch for two under $20 was great. Their mac n cheese with a tender on it sounds intriguing to try next time....

Awesome spot! Hot chicken seems to be getting very popular and rightfully so. This place is doing hot chicken right! I've gone a couple of times and enjoyed it a ton! The chicken is super delicious and fresh. Very crisp, moist, and full of flavor. The medium level is, for me, the perfect balance of heat and flavor. They also have very convenient hours and open late! Overall this is a great spot, and I'm looking forward to going again. Thanks!

My wife wanted chicken, so we tried Byrd's Hot Chicken. Surprised they didn't have a drive thru. Ordered the tenders, came with juicy chicken tenders served on toast, 24k sauce, and pickles. Fries and potato salad (or choose to double up on a side) or MAC & CHEESE, creamy dreamy mac and cheese. You can get them Plain, mild, medium, hot, or Supahot. Got plain for my wife, and for me, medium & hot. The medium was very spicy, so I tried the hot and took off the breading. Definitely enjoyed it and will return.

They can't be serious, see photo of my take out order on 2/27 At 2 am. I expected alot more chicken but this looks like scraps.

Chicken tenders, combo #2. The mac and cheese is extra $2

My husband and I both looooove this place! My husband loves #2 combo which is the chicken tenders with sides and a drink. The chicken tenders are huuuge! I love #5 combo which is a chicken sandwich but instead of regular buns, it's with a donut. It's the perfect combination! The spicy chicken is perfect, crispy and well seasoned on the outside while the inside is perfectly cooked and moist chicken white meat The donut makes this whole thing work, because it gives me a good break from the spicy hot goodness. The donut is even toasted on the inside, these guys really know their stuff! I order medium spicy, which is hot. My husband who usually enjoys buffalo hot wings was sweating through the medium spicy and so he ordered mild the 2nd time we came back. The fries are sooo gooood, especially with the spicy seasoning! It's probably one of the best fries I've ever had. It's my favorite side so far, but will have to try the others some time. All made to order so it's really good! The guys here are super nice, warm, kind, and welcoming! Parking was easy, it's literally right next to El Atico. The TVs are usually on a sports channel, but you can definitely have conversations as the volume is kept at a good level. We're huge fans already for the delicious chicken and for the good guys who work here!

We've been here twice a few months apart so I don't think this was a fluke experience. What could improve? They could clean. It was disgusting in there. They could have more than one person working at a time so you don't have to wait 20 minutes for your food. Then the guy (who also just stared at us when we walked in) handed us our food, didn't say a word or even make eye contact and walked away. He forgot to give us our drink so I had to go back in and ask for it and his reply was "I don't know which ones have syrup in them." Didn't offer to check or say lmk if it needs changed... just idk which ones have syrup. And no bottles of soda, both coolers completely empty. Bottles would've been nice because I don't think they know the soda machine is supposed to be cleaned too. Is this place about to close? It probably should. The food, which I ate against my better judgement, was good, maybe a little greasy. But literally everything else was terrible. It was soooo dirty. Zero customer service.

Almost all of the batter came off right out the box, leaving the rest of the bland chicken tender exposed.
    Marcos J.

Terrible experience..... Not sure where they went wrong, but this was the worst food I have had in a while. I will point out that this was an uber eats order, though I do feel Byrds needs to stand by what comes from their kitchen, whether it is a regular, or to go order. This was my first time trying this place so I have the regular sandwich a shot. My order arrived, and the first thing I noticed was that almost the entire sandwich is mainly batter that comes off very easily. The rest of the laughably small chicken tender (which looks nothing like their picture menu) then slid off the bun, having no seasoning and tasting like a piece of bland chicken. I will also add that the batter was absolutely forgettable. At this point I threw the food out. I will not be going back as I believe the kitchen (and manager) should not be allowing this quality food to leave their kitchen. Very disappointing.

To make a long story short, the service was good, chicken was so-so and not worthy of the price. Friday night about 6:40pm I'm trying out Byrd's instead of soup from next door. 1st thing I notice: I don't smell any food and the place is empty; the employees were in the back obviously not cooking. The staff member was polite and graciously walked my order to me while I waited outside. The food: It is Halal, which is good for those who have requirements. Don't expect many options in flavors or sides. Fries were average crinkle cut, no shake-ons or anything jazzy. With that said the chicken was fried well, was crispy juicy inside. Not enough flavor in the batter and relied mostly on the adjunct dry rubs/powders or side sauce for taste. This takes away something when flavor isn't cooked into it. They have potato salad and breaded fried green beans as other side options. These are not part of the standard combo option and are a separate deal over priced like $7 for so-so small side. The day I went they were out of the green beans. They have Pepsi fountain drinks (no Mountain Dew (for those accused to the standard Pepsi Co line up) and a few other bottled options in a small adjacent fridge. Overall, well made chicken needed more flavor cooked into it; nice staff at the Boynton location. The staff being cool bumped it from 2.5 to3. Not horrible but wld not go again unless nothing else was open.
