Capable professional movers. Friendly. Helpful. Did a great job at a competitive price. I'm very happy with the work they did!

The referral paid $90/hr for 2 movers with a minimum of 2 hours and relied on Just Labor Movers to supply the moving truck. Mike quoted me $120/hr + $85 truck usage fee, reasoning the hourly rate difference is because of the truck. I am well aware of demand-driven pricing models, but this fee schedule seems arbitrary. Fortunately, there is no shortage of courteous and respectful movers who are more than happy to provide fairly-priced, reliable moving services.

This price-gouging businessman cancelled our…read moremove at 6:12AM (10am scheduled move,) since my original list of things had not included additional trash bags with two pillows stuffed in them and a 22" flat screen tv (that I offered to move in my car myself,) unless I renegotiate the price of the move, since he already told his crew to stand down. The reality of things is that he probably double-booked his Sunday with two different families, and had no intention on ever moving us (since he could make more money with someone else who booked on the same day.) I wouldn't be surprised if he cancelled on other families that same morning as well. Although I had to scramble that early morning for another last minute mover, word to the wise is to have a back up plan, since this person nearly left us stranded...unless I pay him more and reneg on the fly. Seems at the end that him (Michael Denmon) canceling on me like that was a blessing, since my Plan B mover was excellent, and if I had chosen JustLabor Movers, and had asked them to add an additional box onto their truck, they would have held my entire move hostage and have asked for more money. One day, his business practices will backfire in his face and someone will sue him. Luckily, I don't sue for such petty things. He is a sweet-talker to get you to commit with him, and then will cancel on you unless you happen to not be the highest bid that very morning when you rely on him. It's predatory and unfortunately there are no laws to have this sort of thing not happen and to protect consumers. Although my experience with this company was horrible, it doesn't mean that others should suffer the same. Consider using someone else.

Very polite and accommodating as well once the new destination was reached. Would highly recommend. Things to be aware - you can't get a definite arrival time until the morning of - which is a bit late if you are getting up early thinking the team will arrive at the 8 in the 8-10 time frame. The move was 3+ hrs transit time and the earlier load time would have made not such a late time to unload. The initial estimate is an estimate...... when they arrive, they will see what the actual move is, what needs done, but at least we did not get a final price until they arrived at the destination. The extra is our total bill was not too bad. Be very specific on what items are being moved and read the contract on how things are suppose to be packed.

I could never have pulled off this move without their help. I ended up having to get a second truck, so they moved everything out of the house and into a big shed. While I was in settlement, they went back and got everything I had to leave behind. They are very trust worthy and I had no qualms about trusting them with all my things!! The pricing is very fair as well. Very highly recommend this business!! Great bunch of very hard working guys! They are very careful. Nothing was missing and nothing was damaged!!

All in all pretty satisfied with this. The trailer showed up when it should have (we'll, 90 minutes…read morepast the window I think), scheduling pickup was easy and delivery happened when it was supposed to as well. 2 of the 3 truck drivers we interacted with were very friendly and nice guys. Calling in to ABF was nice too, the phone staff pleasant. I marked it down a star because the bulkhead door was a little broken and didn't have locking pins. We had to bang on the metal bracket the bar goes through to straighten it out enough to move the bar through it. So- wasn't expecting having so much trouble with that. But all of our stuff arrived with minimal or no damage. I think our furniture had very light scuffing from running against each other- we should have used more moving blankets. And one glass dish broke, but honestly that was my fault at I didn't really pack it well. We had many glass and ceramic dishes that all made it fine, computers are fine, we even packed empty 5-gallon glass carboys that made it. So- honestly that was a pleasant surprise m, we were sure more stuff would break. We used 17' of the trailer and our truck didn't leave the state. We put an air tag in it to track it ourselves. It made 3 stops- in Chester PA, Carlisle, then Erie. Not sure what if anything they transported with our stuff but it didn't seem to have any negative impact. We didn't cover our stuff with tarps like we should have, but it worked out. All in all, everything went better than expected honestly, given we were planning for some things to break and nothing really did. This isn't the most user-friendly moving experience, with that big heavy bulkhead. If you want your stuff to arrive in good condition I'd recommend hiring professional movers to pack the trailer, or just do it very intentionally yourself, using some ratchet straps, bungee cords, moving blankets, and tarps. Pack anything fragile in boxes with lots of padding, bubble wrap, fill all the air spaces with packing paper, and don't stack heavy boxes on top of them. It took us so long to pack everything well.. I'd give yourself like two weeks, assuming you're not doing it all yourself and you're moving a two bedroom apartment's worth. I'd give yourself more time if you have more or are doing it yourself. Better to take longer to do things right so your stuff arrives not broken than rush and lose things you own.
