AFTER the install was completed and after my Yelp review. What a shady business. CENTRAL COAST HEATING & AIR DOESN'T PULL PERMITS! THAT PUTS HOMEOWNERS AT RISK! I'm extremely disappointed with Central Coast Heating & Air and feel obligated to warn other homeowners. After some red flags, I contacted the local Building Division directly and confirmed that this company did NOT pull the required permits for the work they performed. That's not a minor oversight; proper permitting is a California requirement for HVAC replacements and major installations, and it protects the homeowner, ensures inspections, and keeps insurance valid. It's in the mechanical code! Instead of being upfront or professional, they pushed ahead without following basic legal procedures. There are plenty of reputable HVAC companies on the Central Coast who actually follow code, take responsibility for their work, and don't cut corners. Unfortunately, Central Coast Heating & Air is not one of them. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you want your job done legally, safely, and with integrity. UNLESS THEY SUDDENLY START PULLING PERMITS! Kenneth came out, went straight to the condenser outside without needing to enter the attic, and identified the problem within about 30 seconds. He repaired it quickly and efficiently. He was so competent that I had him return a couple of weeks later to service my other units. Kenneth is extraordinarily efficient, personable, and clear in explaining both the issue and the repair. I also appreciated being able to get an appointment within a reasonable timeframe in the middle of a heat wave. Highly recommended.

I used them because they are in the COSTCO program so you get a huge gift card after install and city permit signs off. We are Costco executive members With the Costco program you get the top of line Lennox equipment and since we have 2 complete systems at the house this is what replaced. 2 new systems. They also upgraded the ductwork to make it run properly. We added a garage attic fan as well. We also upgraded to the WiFi thermostats you can control with the Residio app on your phone and we love them. Once it's finished an outside company comes to test system and report on airflow. The city inspector needs to see this report. When he comes so show him. Don't use the call center number. Use the local phone number I'm providing in attached photo. Paso heating was bought out by Wightens and I do not recommend that company so don't get moved over if they say they are busy. Stick with this one, it's totally worth the wait. So, if you are an electrician for this company make sure you invoice for about $500/hr! And their HVAC guys, I think its awesome your boss pays you $500/hr. But clients beware, there is a lot of gouging going on. Usually its $150/hr for the technical. And call the suppliers, you'll see the cost of the HVAC equipment is much less than you are being quoted! And other than duct work, its an easy day or two for an install. So do the math, and don't let our community be the place where we pay $ 500/hr for electricians.

I hired Rock Steady Plumbing to install a Navien tankless water heater on August 10, 2026, at a…read morecost of approximately $6,900. At that price, I expected a professional installation that was completed correctly. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. After the installation, I discovered significant deficiencies that required correction. The tankless water heater had been powered using an extension cord running across attic floor, rather than a permanent electrical connection, and the condensate line had been routed underneath the house, where it was draining into the crawl space rather than being properly terminated outside. I contacted Rock Steady and gave them the opportunity to correct the issues themselves. When the necessary corrections were not completed in a timely manner, I ultimately had to hire another licensed plumber and an electrician to complete and correct the work. The electrician corrected the electrical connection. The second plumbing company rerouted the condensate line from underneath the house and properly terminated it outside. Their invoice specifically documented that they had to plumb the condensate line from where the prior plumber had left it under the house and terminate it outside. To Rock Steady's credit, after I submitted the invoices for this corrective work, they reimbursed me in full for both the plumbing and electrical expenses. I believe that is important to include. However, reimbursement does not change the quality of the original installation or the considerable amount of time and effort required on my part to get the situation resolved. The original installation occurred on August 10, and I did not receive final reimbursement until September 17--more than five weeks later. During that time, I had to identify and document the problems, communicate repeatedly with Rock Steady, arrange for other licensed professionals to evaluate and correct the installation, pay those expenses myself, and then seek reimbursement. I paid approximately $6,900--a premium price for a professional tankless water heater installation. Instead, portions of the installation were substandard and ultimately had to be corrected by other professionals. I appreciate that Rock Steady ultimately reimbursed me for those corrective expenses. But for a $6,900 professional installation, I expected the work to be done correctly the first time. It wasn't.
