Golden Flounder

This brewery is close to my house which makes it convenient, but even if it wasn't it would be worth it to make a special stop for afternoon or evening. They offer a few of their beers on tap, their hard cider on tap and also offer wine. Most weekends there is a food truck parked on property and music for entertainment. They have corn hole and Adirondack chairs. Lots of space to spread out. In the summer the chairs and picnic tables get scooped up so if you have your own chair or blanket may be a good idea.

I've got to say this brewery has to be one of the most beautiful in terms of space, landscaping, & old-school aesthetics. Originally an old dairy farm, this converted brewery/winery was a pleasure, especially in the beauty of NE fall! They had about 6 or 7 solid beers on tap, as well as couple nice wine options. Staff, as well as the locals, were very friendly and engaging! I'll be back for sure.

Beautiful area. Outdoor and indoor seating. Chairs from home welcome! Beer and wine delicious. Food truck on site. Dogs welcome and even have a water station. Fun to chill with friends and families, kids running around, cornhole boards out. I'd you stay until dusk you can admire the deer over the hills. Cool spot. Will definitely be back.

Ale and malt

My husband and I had a great time at this brewery. We went on a Saturday and they had 4 beers available. We opted for the Buzzard's Bay IPA which was delicious, even after getting close to room temp--which is rare. We also sampled a malt and a pale ale. The malt was delicious and the ale was meh. Wish they had more options available but it was such a fun time it's hard to complain. They had a mobile farm stand, live music, and the Fancheezical food truck on site. There was also a stand selling oysters and another making what appeared to be hot dogs and hamburgers. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and both spaces are beautiful. People of all ages were hanging out. Kids running in the fields, adults hanging out. Great, welcoming atmosphere. We brought our 5 month old daughter and some deli sandwiches and it was lovely to hang out and feel comfortable with other parents and babies of the same age. As new parents, going out can be overwhelming and unwelcoming. So although other people complain about kids being in places they like to go, it's great to have a place for us. The bathroom situation is a little odd but it's surprisingly efficient. It's a trailer and I can only speak for the women's side but it was very clean. They even had pads and tampons and deodorant/sprays available on the counter tee. It's like a fancy portable toilet and there are 3 stalls inside. I know that sounds gross but it really was not. It was warm out and there was not a bad smell or anything like that. The trailer has running sinks with soap and water and paper towels. Way more sanitary than it sounds. We will be back all summer.

Beer Flight

We did the "flight" which consisted of 4 samplers. They all were good. They also had a food truck the Fancheezical. Had the grilled cheese with brisket and pickles. Great taste. Would definitely go back in the summer when they have live bands playing in the field.

I came here for the first time this evening, and am so glad I did! I've heard about this place from other friends and have been wanting to come by. I finally did. When you pull up, you see so much land and greenery, it's so beautiful and peaceful. It's quiet and nice. I walked into the brewery and it's very rustic and woodsy inside. I tried a flight, which was incredibly affordable! I had never tried any Buzzard Bay beers, so I knew a flight was for me. My flight had: The Golden Flounder, Moby D, Horseneck IPA and Buzzards Bay IPA. All lighter beers. Now, personally I'm a dark ale kind of girl. I haven't found a lighter drink or IPA I really like. However, I loved the Golden Flounder and Buzzards Bay! I loved the golden so much, I bought a full pint and some to take home. That's saying a lot! I highly recommend it! The grounds are so nice, there are yard games to play and lots of outdoor seating. Which was perfect for this gorgeous summer day. It was Taco Tuesday, so they have a food truck serving tacos! Apparently they always have a good truck, which is pretty cool. The company was Fancheezical. Since they're a separate company, I will leave a separate review for them. However, I loved my tacos! I highly recommend this place for a nice summer evening out and to try and support a local brewery.

Drive thru Craft Beer. What a brilliant idea. At $15 a case it's the fiscally responsible way to Drink Locally as well. My best friend from High School lives ten minutes away. I follow them on Twitter and when they have something of interest I have him pick some up. When I'm visiting this is an obligatory stop. It almost feels like Prohibition times as you make your way up the long driveway and honk your horn. Dude comes out and asks "Whaddya want?". You order "Trattoria Style" from the chalkboard. Don't ask for anything that isn't on the beer chalkboard. They make a variety of excellent beers/ales. If they have a "special" try it, don't just stick with the seasonal favorites. This trip they had an overstock of Cranberry Saison, made for a Beer Club. A traditional Saison in color, cloudiness and taste with a muted Cranberry finish. My only regret was that we bought one case. The other purchase was a Golden IPA, soothing rich flavor and not medicinally hopped likes some IPAs. * beer/ale may be cold or not. * cash only * best beer value for your buck in New England possibly the Country!

Great beer, great location, but lots of attitude from the young "bartender" pouring the beer at the outside site.

These didn't seem available this time, so I ordered their Untapped-award-winning Peanut Butter & Jelly Sour - WHOAAAA! So delicious, and smelled and tasted exactly like the name, not a watered down faint whisper of peanut butter as many similar drinks have. I could see it being a little too sweet if you had more than two of these, but I loved it and wouldn't shut up about it, leading multiple friends to order one. This was unique and a must try, well worth its awards. My friend ordered a Bacon Maple beer that also smelled exactly like its name, but as a vegetarian I declined a sip since I wasn't sure if it had any real bacon in it. It was slammed and busy here, but our wait time at the bar wasn't too bad considering. The beertenders were pretty quick and friendly. Someone was throwing a birthday party and had a band playing, yet they were still open to the public. The acoustics in here are a little bizarre and echo-ey, so the band was unbearably loud. Luckily there were picnic tables and high top tables outside and it wasn't too chilly, so we headed out there. They brought out a few heat lamps which helped my friends that weren't dressed for the weather, and added a nice cozy atmosphere without any bonfire smoke smell. This would be a great area to hang for the fall! They had a food truck available which is always a great feature (Kroffle Kreations - I will review separately soon). There is a small parking lot that's been full every time I've come, but since it's in a far out industrial park area of town, people park on the sides of the road with seemingly no issues. Great little spot and very creative beers, with lots of events hosted! I'm looking forward to branching out into some of their other and darker styles of beer in the future.

The interior is nice and bright with a decent-sized bar and lots of tables. They had an excellent selection of beers, ales, and stouts. I generally stay away from this kind of place because they are IPA-heavy, and I am not an IPA fan. I had a couple of glasses of this fantastic stout and a great Scottish Ale. My wife had a peanut butter Porter that was yummy. The servers behind the bar were great. They also had a food truck that offered salads and sandwiches. My understanding is that they have a variety of food trucks that rotate through. We had an excellent time listening to music, being with friends, and having some great beverages. I would give this place a try.

The name of the brewery is a reference to the historical name of Fall River. Although originally founded under the name "Fall River" in 1803, the town changed its name to "Troy" the following year and eventually changed it back in 1834. Carvalho started a home brewing club in Fall River in 2006. In 2017, Troy City brewing was founded as a home brewing entity when Carvalho joined forces with Ferreira. Eventually they would move in at a historic textile mill and opened their taproom to the public a year later. Together with nearby Canned Heat Craft Brewing, Troy City Brewery brings the brewing industry back to Fall River for the first time since 1963. My wife and I first visited Troy Cory in October 2019. We were in town for the day to visit the home of Fall River's most infamous citizen: Lizzie Borden!! After visiting some spooky sites around town, we decided to check out Fall River's local craft brewery scene. When we arrived, they were having a Halloween costume party in the taproom (which was totally fine with us). I ended up sampling four beers: the Rail Trail Cranberry Lager, the TCB Test IPA, Maplecroft (Maple Syrup Porter), and Gage Hill (Toasted Marshmallow Chocolate Porter). The last one was my favorite and it came with a cinnamon-sugar rimmed glass. Overall, my wife and I enjoyed our visit to Troy City. If you're planning on visiting any spooky Lizzie Borden sites in Fall River this Halloween season, make sure to visit Troy City Brewing.

There was live music playing, which was such a nice touch for a laid-back holiday Monday while my son played corn hole. They have food trucks, although the sushi and taco truck was closed today since it was a Monday holiday. We ended up getting the fish and chips, which had a really light, crispy batter, and the clam chowder was possibly some of the best I've ever had! My son really enjoyed the chicken tenders too. Customer service was good at each of the trucks we ordered from. The bathrooms deserve a shoutout too--they were extremely clean and easy to get to, which is always a plus. They also have a full restaurant that I'd definitely like to come back and try another time. Overall, a really nice outdoor spot to grab some food, listen to live music, relax, and let the kids have some fun. Definitely worth checking out! The only reason I'm giving a four star is because I wish they were better with their advertising. We went on a Monday holiday which their hours say 3-9 but they opened at noon. If they had advertised hours and the fact certain trucks weren't going to be open- we would have planned accordingly.

It had giant comfy couches, tall ceilings, and beautiful, upscale decor that made this feel like a glamorous experience. Our server was extremely personable and knowledgeable, what a delight! He answered our tons of questions and had great wine recommendations for my friend. We got conflicting information from the hostess vs the server on whether food was available and what time they closed, which seemed a little odd. Ultimately I was able to order off the abbreviated trivia food menu, and really enjoyed the Winter Vegetable Flatbread with sweet potato, Swiss chard, kale, and gruyere - very unique recipe with lots of distinct flavors that came together beautifully! The crust was soft and I dipped it in some beer cheese that came with my friend's pretzel (the cheese seemed a little watery to me but had a distinct beer flavor, so bonus points for actually being a beer cheese!) I couldn't tell if a couple of my beers got rearranged on my flight board, so wasn't sure which I liked and didn't. One was smokier than I would have thought it would be but had a sweet taste. The Boch was a bit bitter for my taste. I really enjoyed the White Stout most of all to my surprise - normally a heavier beer is just okay and not the favorite of my taste buds, but this one was so unique in style and crispiness. The beers all seemed very European leaning and authentic in flavor, although a bit on the heavier / less sweet side (fitting for the colder weather but not my personal favorite). The trivia host seemed to have a lot of regulars and the volume wasn't overbearing, I'll have to check it out again and actually play next time. I really loved the cozy upper brewery area - check it out before the renovations finish downstairs LOL!

This appetizer was very fresh and exceptionally good. Beet Salad ($15): Whipped goat cheese, roasted beets, blood orange, toasted pistachios, pickled red onion, arugula, EVOO, and balsamic glaze. My wife loved this salad--it was packed with fresh flavors and textures. Lobster Truffle Grilled Cheese ($32): Made with Gruyère cheese, fresh-picked lobster meat, truffle oil, and toasted sourdough. While it tasted good, the truffle flavor was very light, and there wasn't as much lobster as I would expect for a $32 price tag. Ultimately, it was good, but not really worth the price. The Drinks: We also grabbed a four-beer flight, which came on a fun whale-tail paddle with a handy menu card: 1. Raz Sour 2. Blueberry Ale 3. Capsized IPA 4.
