Absolutely awesome experience here for a friend TV show opening debut. The Prosecco is bright and crisp and refreshing. My partner is having a flounder beer, which is very light beer but has a taste that would be a little bit bite to it. Really likes it a lot there's lots of room for parking for events. They have a private building that host probably 50 people on the first floor. Their regular garage holds. 100 it has live music tonight. I'm not sure if that's cause it's Friday, the weekend or both but it's really cool and then it's just a great night. The weather is fantastic. People are really on top of things. There's a food truck called gnarly vines. I will be reviewing them. Another post definitely worth a trip down. It's really not that far. We've have been Wrenthem so it was about 50 minutes. Traffic was kinda bad so that was the reason why I that would probably be about 35 minutes from Wrentham to here. read more

One of our favorite spots to go when you want to be outside! Unbeatable view, nice selection of brews, and usually at least one food truck option. Sometimes live music. Perfect for bringing our 2 little ones because we can relax and keep an eye on them but they can also run around on the large lawn and play. Lots of little kids, and dogs, and a friendly peaceful atmosphere. I do wish they served kombucha or some other interesting non alcoholic beverages on tap along with the beers. Or perhaps a house lemonade. Would be welcome for kids and also grownups who don't do alcohol. We brought water or milk for the kids to stay hydrated, and get ourselves beers from the bar. Our favorite food truck that goes there is called BBQ y Mas- their fried chicken sandwich is the best! The lawn is so beautiful overlooking the fields of grain. read more

My cousin was adamant about having us check out Buzzards Bay before heading back home. We checked out several breweries while in Massachusetts, and this one had a beautiful scenery, food trucks, and live music. It was a bit chilly the day we went, but the sun was shinning, so it made up for it. There is plenty of parking, and bathrooms located right on the side. The line was pretty long, but went by quickly, so that was a plus. Since I don't necessarily drink beer anymore, I went for the wine, which wasn't bad. My husband and cousin grabbed an IPA, which they enjoyed. We grabbed a picnic table outside and enjoyed the live music. Only thing I didn't enjoy was the obnoxious drunk guy near us, but hey, what can you do!? If you like to take your kids, there is plenty of space for them to run and play around also. There were food trucks, which included churros. We tried them with chocolate, which was so delicious! Only thing I would like to see is more options for those who don't drink beer, like seltzer. read more

I've got to say this brewery has to be one of the most beautiful in terms of space, landscaping, & old-school aesthetics. Originally an old dairy farm, this converted brewery/winery was a pleasure, especially in the beauty of NE fall! They had about 6 or 7 solid beers on tap, as well as couple nice wine options. This brewery is close to my house which makes it convenient, but even if it wasn't it would be worth it to make a special stop for afternoon or evening. They offer a few of their beers on tap, their hard cider on tap and also offer wine. Most weekends there is a food truck parked on property and music for entertainment. They have corn hole and Adirondack chairs. Lots of space to spread out. In the summer the chairs and picnic tables get scooped up so if you have your own chair or blanket may be a good idea. read more

My husband and I had a great time at this brewery. We went on a Saturday and they had 4 beers available. We opted for the Buzzard's Bay IPA which was delicious, even after getting close to room temp--which is rare. We also sampled a malt and a pale ale. The malt was delicious and the ale was meh. Wish they had more options available but it was such a fun time it's hard to complain. They had a mobile farm stand, live music, and the Fancheezical food truck on site. There was also a stand selling oysters and another making what appeared to be hot dogs and hamburgers. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and both spaces are beautiful. People of all ages were hanging out. Kids running in the fields, adults hanging out. Great, welcoming atmosphere. We brought our 5 month old daughter and some deli sandwiches and it was lovely to hang out and feel comfortable with other parents and babies of the same age. As new parents, going out can be overwhelming and unwelcoming. So although other people complain about kids being in places they like to go, it's great to have a place for us. The bathroom situation is a little odd but it's surprisingly efficient. It's a trailer and I can only speak for the women's side but it was very clean. They even had pads and tampons and deodorant/sprays available on the counter tee. It's like a fancy portable toilet and there are 3 stalls inside. I know that sounds gross but it really was not. It was warm out and there was not a bad smell or anything like that. The trailer has running sinks with soap and water and paper towels. Way more sanitary than it sounds. We will be back all summer. read more

There are fire pits to share and food trucks. We tried the chicken skewer with black beans/rice from Gnarly Vines - yummy! One of our party ordered a burger from the Food Fighters truck which was good but took almost an hour to receive. read more

I came here for the first time this evening, and am so glad I did! I've heard about this place from other friends and have been wanting to come by. I finally did. When you pull up, you see so much land and greenery, it's so beautiful and peaceful. It's quiet and nice. I walked into the brewery and it's very rustic and woodsy inside. I tried a flight, which was incredibly affordable! I had never tried any Buzzard Bay beers, so I knew a flight was for me. My flight had: The Golden Flounder, Moby D, Horseneck IPA and Buzzards Bay IPA. All lighter beers. Now, personally I'm a dark ale kind of girl. I haven't found a lighter drink or IPA I really like. However, I loved the Golden Flounder and Buzzards Bay! I loved the golden so much, I bought a full pint and some to take home. That's saying a lot! I highly recommend it! The grounds are so nice, there are yard games to play and lots of outdoor seating. Which was perfect for this gorgeous summer day. It was Taco Tuesday, so they have a food truck serving tacos! Apparently they always have a good truck, which is pretty cool. The company was Fancheezical. Since they're a separate company, I will leave a separate review for them. However, I loved my tacos! I highly recommend this place for a nice summer evening out and to try and support a local brewery. read more

Drive thru Craft Beer. What a brilliant idea. At $15 a case it's the fiscally responsible way to Drink Locally as well. My best friend from High School lives ten minutes away. I follow them on Twitter and when they have something of interest I have him pick some up. When I'm visiting this is an obligatory stop. It almost feels like Prohibition times as you make your way up the long driveway and honk your horn. Dude comes out and asks "Whaddya want?". You order "Trattoria Style" from the chalkboard. Don't ask for anything that isn't on the beer chalkboard. They make a variety of excellent beers/ales. If they have a "special" try it, don't just stick with the seasonal favorites. This trip they had an overstock of Cranberry Saison, made for a Beer Club. A traditional Saison in color, cloudiness and taste with a muted Cranberry finish. My only regret was that we bought one case. My local brewery when I'm home visiting the fam! Year round, they make a Pilsner, a Lager, a Black Lager, and a Pale Ale, plus they always have one or more limited release/ seasonal selections, which have ranged from an Oktoberfest to a Cranberry Lambic to a Weizen Dopplebock (delicious!), and plenty of others. Personally, I think their Black Lager and their Pale Ale are both excellent staples. They are open for beer tasting and free tours from 1:00-5:00pm on Saturdays only. Try one beer sample for free, or all of the ones on tap for $4, and get to take home your sample glass, too. Or join the Jug Club by buying a growler and signing up, and you'll get a lifetime of free tastings! Um, yum. It's a pretty small brewery and their distribution is fairly limited, but you can find them in certain restaurants and package stores around the South Coast and the Cape. Stop in if you're in the Westport area, or driving home from Horseneck Beach on a Saturday afternoon... you know you wanna try some brews. read more

Get down to Just Beer like NOW. Turns out this is the brewery that Pretty Things has used to brew all their beers, and the Just Beer itself turns out some pretty mean brews at SHOCKINGLY low price points -- their Moby D and Golden Flounder are especially excellent. I had never heard of them until talking to them at EatBoston's Bacon and Beer Fest where they were pouring their Moby D pale ale and was blown away by how good it was. I Googled them the next day and went to check out the brewery the next weekend. Owned by the same people as Westport Rivers winery, Just Beer has an awesome, recession-friendly spin on beer. We are talking some really awesome brews at just slightly above cheap beer prices. At $15-20 for a case of 22oz bottles for excellent craft beer, the value is impossible to ignore. Kegs are a similar value at $35 for a 1/6 barrel to $80 for a half barrel. Amazing! A tasting of all the beers they have on tap is just $5 and includes a pint glass. Even better, while tasting or touring you're guaranteed to interact with someone who's actually intimately involved with the brewing of the beer, not a professional tour guide like you might encounter on the brewery tours of larger craft breweries. If these guys distributed more widely in the city, it would be an amazingly popular beer. As it stands now, it can be just your secret after the (fully worthwhile) hour drive to Westport. If you have a free Saturday afternoon and like beer, you owe it to yourself to head down and check it out. As a bonus, Westport Rivers winery is just around the corner -- make the drive and pick up a case of each! read more

So I don't drink beer, but I've been on a lot of brewery tours. My husband is a home brewer and we check out local breweries wherever we are. This is a solid local one. It's a nice, scenic drive out to the middle of Westport. Be sure to look for the tiny sign. It isn't well marked and very easy to drive by. The brewery is located in a large barn and has a small tasting/retail area. Growlers, 22 oz bottles, shirts, hats, glasses, etc. are for sale. They have a decent selection of brews, which my husband gives the thumbs up to. Although he isn't a fruity beer kind of guy, the Cranberry Saison is one of his favorites. On this latest trip the Buzzards Bay IPA hit the spot and we left with a growler. While they don't give official tours of the brewery area, one of the brewers is often there and is more than willing to answer questions. My family and I stumbled upon Buzzard's Bay Brewing years ago after a wine tasting at Westport River Winery, and we've been returning ever since. It's been amazing to watch it grow into the place it is today. I am a fan of the Golden Flounda because I'm kind of a beer weakling, but my family loves all of the brews. If you buy a pint, you keep the glass. They have a growler program. There is a food truck there almost every day now, I believe. Everyone is super chill and every time I visit, I find myself seriously envying their lifestyle. There are stools inside along the wall and a very small "bar" at the front desk with a wood fire roaring in the winter. Summer is my favorite time to visit and sit at the tables outside. It's a quiet and beautiful piece of property. There's something special about venturing out into the middle of nowhere to enjoy really good local beer and eat great food. Lot's of good things happening here. Lot's of good brews. Lot's of swag. I stopped by for a tasting of the Lizzie Red IPA this afternoon, hoping there'd be some left from February. There was, and I loved it, and took home a bomber. On top of that, I got a shirt, another bomber, and well, I had to have a pint of Lizzie before I left. They have re-vamped the tasting area. It is quite spacious and there is plenty of room to look at the swag, which I have purchased plenty of. We are transitioning to a new season and I am eagerly awaiting the new offerings. Hopefully I can get an interesting Saison or Belgian Wit. I have always been a fan of the Craison. I have bought at least 2 cases and it is all gone and I am fairly depressed about it. We came here on a great day. The actual tap room isn't anything too special however when we went they had a tent set up outside with an additional bar with a grilled cheese truck, a hipster AF band playing the weather was awesome the grounds are beautiful and people were friendly. We asked if it was an every Saturday deal and the guy who worked there said if its nice out its a party. I recommend going on a weekend in the spring or summer for sure. They had 4 beers on tap which were pretty hop heavy except for one and that one was pretty good. Wish I remembered the name of it but I was a bad yelper that day. Their beer wasn't my jam but I wanted to sit there all day and drink it anyways. The bathroom situation was rough because it was so busy. My favorite local brewery by far. Not only is the beer delicious and easy to drink, it's also very affordable. No reason to buy beer from the big boys when you can get fresh, local brew for the same price or less. They have been brewing reasonable (I mean reasonable in character. No need for 11% imperial stouts all the time) craft beer for quite some time and I'm more than happy to support such a great brewery. We love the beer from this local brewery! Its just wonderful. They offer tastings, and tours of the brewery. The staff is fun, and clearly glad to be working at a brewery (who wouldn't be really); and the place is really interesting. Golden Flounder = The best! :-p Located in the back woods (farms) of Westport its set so far away from people that they also have a few of their own events from time to time. GO TO THESE EVENTS!!! We had a seven day vacation in the area and went here twice. When we rolled up the gravel road in our bikes I thought I died and went to heaven. A huge barn in the middle of a beautiful field houses the brewery. Inside is no frills. Four beers on tap. We both agreed the lighter variety wasn't quite our cup of tea (beer) but found the Havoc and the Moby quite refreshing. We could have been drinking anything cuz once we were outside it was bliss. Grilled cheese truck was tasty town and the guy shucking oysters was a nice surprise. We got some local info topped with lemon and a little horseradish. The first visit we were there a little later and a Van Ronk esque band appeared on a stage I didn't realize was there. This place is a gem. Stopped here after the winery, could have missed the place because the lack of sign. Free tasting which is awesome tried 3 IPAs and 1 stout (neither are my favorite) but my boyfriend ended up buying a bottle $2.50 can't go wrong.
