That bar seemed to go on forever with multiple rooms and different floors. They even had an outdoor smoking area which had a silent disco and I heard that they offer karaoke on some nights. The drinks were cheap and the bartenders were efficient. The sound was great during the entire concert. The audience in Dublin was a kind of energy I've never seen at a concert and if I were a musician, I'd totally want to play here. I highly recommend checking this place out if you're in Dublin and looking for live music!

You could not really hear it and when I say the place was jammed pack with people near them, I am not joking, we could barely see them. I had half a beer here as my girlfriend and I weren't in the mood to stand the whole time to music we could barely hear. I appreciate that this is an old bar that people frequent, kind of reminded me of the dive bars in Philly to a degree but just know what you are in for before coming if this is the bar you ultimately choose for a night out. The bar and initial lounge was laid out well, which some funky décor and candles on tables. Next was the stage area, which was down a few steps, where there are more tables adorned with candles. Keep going to the left you are met with The Sitting Room, an area which is just that, a comfy sitting room. Back at the bar we spy craft beers - hurrah! I first go for a brewdog Punk IPA, but then switch to their 5am Saint. Both lovely beers. Due to the fabulous recent weather, the audience was slow to fill and as a result the music started a lot later than envisaged by the promoters. But when it did get started, my gosh was it a cracking set. The band was called Mages Takotak, French I believe. They were excellent. I'm no jazz expert, but we all really enjoyed the show. McNeills also runs a music centre on the second floor for repairs, sales and sheet music. Once you've got the arsenal of instruments and songs down, take part (or just sit back, pint in hand) in one of the City Centre's most prolific sessions. Check the board outside for an idea of the music on for the evening -the taste is eclectic and bluegrass is favoured.

A good place to enjoy a quiet pint and a chat, with professional barmen and a bunch of welcoming regulars. If you can though, try and make it here for the sessions.

It reminded me of a place I used to go to in Bellflower called Midway. The only difference is they have good punk music. The beer was excellent and I must quote them on this, "no sissy drinks like an apple martini." I will forever be grateful to this pub as I discovered St. Bernardus. Only the best beer in the world and it's made by Monks. Something about the rich flavors in it made for a climatic experience. As I drank that pint, I tasted all it had to offer. It's dark with a full, ivory-colored head. It was amazing, try it and don't hesitate to go to a punk bar in Dublin, Ireland when you get a chance. Cheers!
