Ordered dinner here with my boyfriend via DoorDash. We noticed they had a 2 for $25 pasta meal deal. We thought it was a pretty good deal, so we went with it! Out of the options we chose chicken parm and shrimp scampi. Chicken Parm- eh. Not good at all. Sauce smelled like metallic..which leads me to believe it's from a can. It was also completely flavorless! I had to add my own seasonings just to make it taste good. The chicken was also very tough. Shrimp scampi- this made up for the not so good chicken parm. Came here on a Saturday evening for after-dinner drinks with friends. Per COVID-19 protocol, we ordered something to eat, too. One person in my party ordered a rum and coke, which was "nothing to write home about". Another person ordered a Malibu Bay Breeze, which "tasted just like pineapple juice". I only had some water, which refreshed my thirst in the perfectly heated restaurant. We all partook in some French Fries, which were piping hot and crispy. The ketchup made them taste even better. The waitress provided good table service. She came around often to replenish water and to see if we wanted to order anything else. The band "Blue Angel" sang a repertoire of songs including "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas", "Uptown Funk" and "Sweet Caroline". People danced at their tables. There was no one on the floor though but the band, whose lively leader coaxed the crowd to "make some noise", "scream", and "to put their hands up and sing". There were quite a few "lovey dovey" couples who were seated at the tables, and then there were singles ready to "meet and mingle". So this is definitely a romantic hideaway, located in an industrial park. I give Butterfield's four stars because of the mediocre drinks. I am definitely coming back here, not for after-dinner drinks as was originally intended, but for the outgoing DJ, groovy band and fun crowd. read more

We were a club party of 80, and enjoyed Butterfields in Hauppauge. It is located off Willets Road in a warehouse area, so it can be easily missed. There is plenty of parking. The lunch menu included pasta, soup, salad, and a choice from four entrees, and coffee. I selected Shrimp Scampi, as did all the ladies at my table. The restaurant supplied black tablecloths and burgundy cloth napkins. The Holiday Lanterns were decorated with black, red and white ribbons and bows. It was a festive setting. The service was quite good. The bar was busy, so it took awhile to get a alcoholic beverage. I think the tables were a little too close together. It was difficult getting in and out. There was room for the keyboard player, and a cake sale. Good venue for a luncheon. read more

Wish I could say we had a great experience this go around, but sadly, it could've been better. Came here earlier than our reservation time tonight so we were told to hang at the bar. We ended up ordering fried calamari to pass the time although when we first told the bartender we were just hanging at first since we were told to wait, she had an attitude. The dish was good, but for $13, I expected a bigger portion size. I had the same dish the other day at J & R and it was doubled what we received tonight. Upon arriving to our table, we quickly ordered. Surprised they only offered two burger options (considering Wednesday is burger night there) when the online menu offered four. I ordered the penne a la vodka. My boyfriends burger was basically raw (he ordered it medium rare) so he had to send it back. It takes a lot for him to send something back so you know it was way off. It came out again and my boyfriend told the waiter it looked exactly the same, so back to the kitchen it went yet again. Between that time, I are my pasta because I didn't want it to get cold, so I was already done by the time his dish arrived. My pasta was extremely spicy. It was not the same as last time but still pretty good, until my throat started burning from all the spices. The burger finally came out much better than the other two times. At that point, we were ready to leave. No compensation was offered for the mess up. We were just ready to go home. Oh well. We tried Butterfields again but I think that's it for us. read more

Visit Date: December 16, 2022 I came to Butterfields to check out Guilty Pleasures 80s band. They were awesome and so much fun if you get a chance to check out one of their shows do it! I came alone but sometimes I like being alone. The waitress seated me at a table and I had penne alla vodka and a cappuccino. The penne was delicious, saucy, a nice amount of cheese, a great taste but I'm giving 4 stars because I wasn't a fan of the cappuccino. After I finished eating and paid my check I moved my bag and coat to where the band was and finished off the night dancing and burning off like maybe a half of one tenth of the pasta I just ate. The band was very interactive I don't know if all the bands are like this but the singers got out with the crowd and danced around. When I used to see the band my ex boyfriend was in the singer was the same, I'd go back to that band again one day when my schedule allows because they too are a very good band. It seems that butterfields allows the band to be close to the crowd and more interactive with the people if they wish to be. The noise level of the band was appropriate. I think if you sit a bit away from the band if you want to talk to anyone you come with you should be able to have a conversation with the person you are sitting with. The atmosphere of Butterfield's is very elegant. Sometimes I feel a little off put if I'm in a place that's snub your nose elegant but Butterfield's manages elegance without coming off as snobby which I appreciated. I would be back here again if given the opportunity. read more

Each time I'm at Butterfields my time here is nice. The service is excellent and the food is equally as excellent. I had already eaten dinner when I met my 2 friends out so I went with two appetizers (one was soup). I chose the meatballs which were amazing the dish was fully loaded with multiple meatballs and delicious bread! The soup was chicken noodle (I know seems typical) but it was delicious the carrots were nice and big and the noodles were amazing. I typically will come here for an entree but this time I had already eaten, next time I'm doing a full dish. Right from the start of the planning, the owners, Ray, Louis, and executive chef Chris, were so helpful and gracious in the planning of every detail. The event had a special hostess Dee, who was amazing!! Dee went out of her way to make everyone feel so welcomed and made sure that everyone had a good time. It was a Saturday night and the band, Blue Angel was terrific. They had our guests on the dance floor for hours. The food and drinks were fabulous. They couldn't have been better. This place seems to have a very loyal following. The bartender knew everyone at the bar by name, "Cheers" all the way. That's always nice. However, I feel like the atmosphere didn't really match the crowd. The dining area seemed really elegant and romantic but on the other side of the wall the bar felt kind of dive-y. The bartender was kind of all over the place (as stated in other reviews). She took only 2 orders for our party of 4 and took forever to come back for the other 2. I thought maybe if you can't remember 4 orders for burgers-then maybe you can write them down? She also did not provide us with menus or let us know about the specials. The nice couple next to us had to let us know about everything. At one point, she started screaming at the tv while Fox News was on. A little too angry for me. The burgers were pretty decent and I liked the onion rings. The $6 Wednesday burger special was definitely worth it & seems like a good happy hour place if you live in the neighborhood (if it wasn't for the angry bartender). My husband & I went last night for our 1st time to celebrate my birthday. The place was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We started at the bar & I got a delicious coconut martini. Our waiter, Edwin, came over and told us no rush but our table was ready when we're ready. The menu had so many yummy choices. It was hard to decide. We ended up splitting a shrimp cocktail, a caesar salad & the filet mignon. My only complaint was that we asked for the steak medium rare & it came out well done but was still delicious and this wouldn't keep me from going back. The demi glaze on the steak was amazing! We were too full for dessert but decided to have an espresso martini at the bar that was the best I've ever had! Looking forward to our next meal here!! read more

Just had my baby shower here and I am very happy how everything turned out. Joyce, one of the managers was very helpful in answering my hundreds of questions leading up to the event. The price was extremely reasonable compared to a lot of other places and the food is delicious. Everyone couldn't stop complementing on how nice the restaurant is and how great the food was. We had the whole restaurant to ourselves and since this was an all female event, what was nice is that while the party was on one side, my husband and a few other males were able to sit on the other side by the bar and have a good time there. The owner was very nice too and made sure my husband and his friends were all taken care of. I would absolutely use this venue again! read more

Located on the outskirts of the industrial park in Hauppauge, this location has been more different eateries/bars that I can't keep track of. Butterfields seems to be holding steady however in terms of longevity. Atmosphere here is pretty generic with the use of a lot of dark wood paneling which attempts to offset the empty warehouse feeling that this place has always had. However, what Butterfields lack in decor makes up for with food quality which is very good. A highlight in my opinion is their seared pepper crusted Ahi tuna served over a wasabi sauce. Consistent and delicious every time I've ordered it. Their menu runs the gamut from sandwiches and burgers to formal continental entrees - all decently prepared. I would have given a higher rating however I had quite an embarrassing situation happen to me here which was handled very poorly. A few months ago I brought a business associate here for a drink at the bar on a Friday night. In the hour or less we were there the bartender lost my associate's credit card they had requested to hold for a tab. It wasn't busy so we were like, seriously? Ok whatever so we left. The next day he went to cancel his card and found out that a slew of charges were made to his card by Butterfields. He phoned Butterfields and spoke to Jerry the owner explaining what had happened. Jerry reassured him he would look into the matter and get back to him. But, no Jerry decided to take the laissez-faire approach and left this gentleman hanging without the decency of a return phone call to explain why charges had amassed on his "lost"credit card - all from the Butterfields establishment. Luckily my friend was able to dispute all the charges and have them removed, but who needs that aggravation as a result of carelessness? I get mistakes happen, but the owner Jerry's aloof and disinterested attitude made a bad situation worse. read more

The two stars are both for our server. The young man was polite, attentive and tried his best to make our awful experience a little better We had a reservation for 8 at 6:30 tonight. When we arrived the dining room was empty and they did not have our table ready. They had to push table together and find chairs. Ok, that's not really a big deal. They had live music at the other end of the dining room that was so loud you could not even hear the person next to you. Now the food. Salad was good. Entrees came out of the kitchen 5 minutes after salads were brought out. The folks that got salad were all still eating. Again not the worst thing that could happen. Of the 8 of us. 2 sent food back to kitchen. I ordered the Pernil (roast pork). What was on the plate was so dry it was inedible. Our waiter was very apologetic and returned 5 minutes later with a new dish of moist juicy pork. How could the kitchen send out that first plate and think that was ok. My friend ordered the Salmon and said it had an awful taste. She would not even swallow it. We talked her into sending it back. She did not want a replacement because it was so bad. The waiter did take her meal off our bill after we pointed out that he took it back completely uneaten. You would think that with 1/4 of the food going back to the kitchen a manager would have stopped by the table. But no. The waiter did not seem surprised by our issues so we could only imagine it is a common occupancy. What a disappointment. read more

People are dancing by our tables and we couldn't speak 1 word to each other. 4 for food. 0 for atmosphere unless you're there to dance. When you first walk into the restaurant you realize it has a pretty decent size bar and there's a decent of space. The ambience was more intimate since there were a few tables with couch like seats included to be seated next to one another. I tried their soup which I found was flavorful but the main dish was a ahi tuna special where it did not have the tempura breading it said to have and was not the freshest. I had the pleasure of having my bridal shower hosted here. From the moment I walked in to the time I left was nothing but a wonderful experience. The staff was extremely helpful, walked around to make sure drinks were refilled and made sure I was taken care of as well. This was a rather large shower- almost 80 people. So we were happy to see that the were very spacious- we were able to seat 8-9 people to a table. The food was set up buffet style for my event which I always prefer. It's fun to pick what you want and most importantly- an opportunity for seconds! ;). The food was delicious, everyone who went still talks about how good it was. Such a roomy place, tons of room to walk around and the bar was not far from where the tables were set up. The management timed lunch and dessert perfectly, we had some time at the end to mingle and talks to guests. Our party was seated in the area to the left when you walk inside. Highly recommend this restaurant for an affair never to be forgotten! I am hoping to enjoy another experience here again with my now husband, so he can try some of the food as well. Been there previously back over 25 years ago same location as today and always enjoyed the food and ambience. Upon entering and sitting at the bar I was greeted by the Manger John and also Alex the Bar Attendant both extremely friendly. The atmosphere resembled my past experiences so I was very comfortable. It was a Thursday evening and I wasn't expecting live entertainment which was excellent and patrons were out on the dance floor. The drinks and menu were delightful and I will surely add to my favorite and John also mentioned Monday night football has HH until midnight! Came here with a party of 12 people. 4 of the meals were incorrect, and majority of them cold. On top of that one meal never even came out until most of us were already finished. When the check come, we were charged for something we didn't order and for something that we never received. Also upon receiving the bill, we are greeted with the lovely insert which I attached a photo of. They failed to tell anyone in our party that the menu prices were "discount prices" and those prices only applied if you paid cash. The food sucked and the service sucked just as bad. I also commented to the waiter that someone in our party had to run outside after eating her food and the owner motioned to us that she must be smoking.... totally inappropriate considering this person doesn't smoke. read more
