We were a club party of 80, and enjoyed Butterfields in Hauppauge. It is located off Willets Road in a warehouse area, so it can be easily missed. There is plenty of parking. The lunch menu included pasta, soup, salad, and a choice from four entrees, and coffee. I selected Shrimp Scampi, as did all the ladies at my table. The restaurant supplied black tablecloths and burgundy cloth napkins. The Holiday Lanterns were decorated with black, red and white ribbons and bows. It was a festive setting. The service was quite good. The bar was busy, so it took awhile to get a alcoholic beverage. I think the tables were a little too close together. It was difficult getting in and out. There was room for the keyboard player, and a cake sale. Good venue for a luncheon.

Wish I could say we had a great experience this go around, but sadly, it could've been better. Came here earlier than our reservation time tonight so we were told to hang at the bar. We ended up ordering fried calamari to pass the time although when we first told the bartender we were just hanging at first since we were told to wait, she had an attitude. The dish was good, but for $13, I expected a bigger portion size. I had the same dish the other day at J & R and it was doubled what we received tonight. Upon arriving to our table, we quickly ordered. Surprised they only offered two burger options (considering Wednesday is burger night there) when the online menu offered four. I ordered the penne a la vodka. My boyfriends burger was basically raw (he ordered it medium rare) so he had to send it back. It takes a lot for him to send something back so you know it was way off. It came out again and my boyfriend told the waiter it looked exactly the same, so back to the kitchen it went yet again. Between that time, I are my pasta because I didn't want it to get cold, so I was already done by the time his dish arrived. My pasta was extremely spicy. It was not the same as last time but still pretty good, until my throat started burning from all the spices. The burger finally came out much better than the other two times. At that point, we were ready to leave. No compensation was offered for the mess up. We were just ready to go home. Oh well. We tried Butterfields again but I think that's it for us.

Stopped in for a last minute birthday brunch for my sister and we loved it. Service was great, Andres was so sweet and helpful. Food was super yummy. Brunch burger was cooked just the way I like it, fries were crunchy. We are already planning to visit again soon!

Each time I'm at Butterfields my time here is nice. The service is excellent and the food is equally as excellent. I had already eaten dinner when I met my 2 friends out so I went with two appetizers (one was soup). I chose the meatballs which were amazing the dish was fully loaded with multiple meatballs and delicious bread! The soup was chicken noodle (I know seems typical) but it was delicious the carrots were nice and big and the noodles were amazing. I typically will come here for an entree but this time I had already eaten, next time I'm doing a full dish. My one friend got chicken Parmesan and there was so much food she took a box home with her! Delish!

Food and appetizers are always fresh and delicious! We always have a great time here at Butterfields! Sara at the Bar was super sweet!

Butterfields Restaurant is a New American Cuisine that has a unique culinary twist and excellent attention to detailHere we had the Dinner Menu Twin 6oz Lobster Tails, Surf & Turf, Coconutini (My Favorite), Clams Casino, Seared Tuna (with blackened crust), French Onion Soup, The Blue Hawaiian, And one of my favorite desserts Creme Brulee. Really enjoyed all of the food here! The ambiance also goes from Romantic, to Fun all in one day!

Nice place to go. The bar is usually busy and when there is a band people do hit the dance floor. The restaurant area is nice also. Nice place to mingle.

Heard about Chop Shop Bar & Grill's Happy Hour and decided to check it out and I'm glad I did…read more We were immediately warmly welcomed to Chop Shop by Dave who escorted us to the bar ( my request) where again we were warmly welcomed by Ashley the barmaid. Ashley also recommended some excellent Happy Hour menu selections. Started off with the glazed brussel sprouts, Edemane and sushi as nd finished up with the dry aged sliders. All were cooked to perfection with the spring rolls and sliders my favorite. Capped off the evening with cappuccino and Irish Coffee ( requested and served with Tullamore Dew ). While enjoying my Irish Coffee Dave came around asking how everything was. Learned he was the restaurant manager and he informed me of the Chop Shop's weekly specials including the Thursday Date Night Fixed Price Menu which I will definitely be taking advantage of. Restaurant offers both table and bar service with a welcoming and friendly staff. Street parking limited but there is additional parking available in the rear parking lot off Landing Avenue along with a rear entrance to the restaurant. Overall a great neighborhood restaurant serving great good and drinks at reasonable pricing.

While eating, I suddenly suffered a painful tongue laceration on my tongue caused buy something sharp in my food. This was not a minor event as ended up in the ER and required to follow up with an oral surgeon. No one goes to dinner expecting to leave needing medical treatment. What is truly unacceptable is the restaurants complete lack of concern afterwards. I made them aware of what happened, and despite the seriousness of the injury, the showed no accountability and no willingness to compensate. They told me they would not compensate for any of the medical bills that I have incurred. This raises serious concerns about their food safety standards, and how they treat customers when things go wrong. In this case their was clearly wrong doing on their part. I would STRONGLY caution others before dining here!!!

The lighting, the music, the whole ambience screams "you're about to have a great night." The service here is top-notch. Everyone is super friendly, attentive without hovering, and genuinely seems to enjoy being part of the experience. Our server knew the menu inside and out and gave amazing recommendations, which is how I ended up discovering what might be the best roll I've ever had in my life (the Aji 53 Roll, obviously). The sushi itself? Absolute perfection. Every piece looked like it came straight off a magazine cover -- fresh, vibrant, and bursting with flavor. You can taste the quality and the craftsmanship in every bite. Even the appetizers and cocktails were on point, the spicy edamame and lychee martini combo had me hooked before the main event even arrived. What I love most is the energy here, whether you're out for date night, a group dinner, or just treating yourself, Aji 53 makes it feel special. The staff pays attention to the little things: your drink never runs empty, dishes come out at the perfect pace, and they always check in to make sure you're smiling (and you will be). By the end of the meal, I found myself saying, "Why am I not here every week?" Aji 53 isn't just another sushi spot, it's an experience. From the décor to the food to the service, they nail it across the board. If you're anywhere near Smithtown and love sushi (or even if you think you don't), trust me. make a reservation, show up hungry, and thank me later.

We finally got here when I decided to surprise my husband for his birthday dinner. GREAT decision!…read more It was early on a Thursday, so when we arrived, the place was empty. We were still greeted with kindness and a generous pour of complimentary Prosecco to start the celebration! We both decided on the Five-Course tasting menu and added the wine pairing. For $84/pp including a wine pairing...wow. And the portions were NOT skimpy at all. Complimentary WARM rolls with butter were presented. The brown seeded roll was very nice. I didn't care for the white roll--it was flavorless and really didn't have any distinct texture. First course, we both had the potato leek soup. OMG, it was delicious. Not overly creamy or goopy, but very nuanced and delicate. The hit of fresh-grated nutmeg was such a spot-on addition. We were both oohing and ahhing. Paired with a full-bodied Pinot Noir, which was great! Second course; husband had the beet salad and they replaced the goat cheese for him since he's not a fan. Beets were tasty, almost pickled? A nice dressing. He said he encountered one or two nuts that weren't great...but otherwise, loved it. Paired with a Rose. I do not like Rose, but I did taste it, and it was pleasant enough. Our fabulous server overheard me...and switched up my pairing for my main course without even me having to ask! I had the Escargot. WOW! First off, not in shells, so no fumbling at the table. The garlic/butter sauce was obscene. I really didn't want to eat more bread with such a big meal, but had to do one dunk-YUM! It was served in a crisped wonton wrapper (didn't see layered enough to be a pastry dough), squared off to create a cup--cute. Mine was paired with a Sauvignon Blanc for me. I tend to be fussy about my blancs...I only like them from Marlborough and have often found California's to be too sour. I'm not sure where this was from, but it was lovely! Then we both had the crab cake. SO good--hubby's favorite course. Packed with crab, barely any breading, just enough to hold its shape. Served with a basil oil and a basil aioli with a perfect hit of acid, and I think a pickled cabbage salad? SO good!!! This wine pairing was the only "miss" in our opinion. It was served with a Riesling. I get that the sweetness was meant to cut through the richness of the aoli, but for us, a Riesling is a better dessert wine...but it was a nice Riesling despite it not really working as a pairing in our opinion. Mains: I had the tuna medium rare. Cooked to PERFECTION and crusted with a hint of horseradish that really woke up the taste buds. As mentioned prior, our wonderful server swapped out the intended Rose and substituted a lovely Cab. PERFECT! Husband had the filet Mignon. I'm not a meat eater, so I didn't taste it, but he said it was cooked perfectly to his request of medium rare. I can't remember what wine was paired...but I think it was another Pinot Noir? Dessert...I was too full...and had a surprise planned afterwards, so I just opted for a dish of ice cream to have a spoonful. It was a bit icy. Not as luscious as I would expect at a French restaurant. He got the bread pudding served with vanilla ice cream. Oh. Dear. Lord. Well, I intended only a taste. It was SOOOO warm and chocolaty and decadent. We practically licked the plate clean! The service was incredible. The ambiance was quaint, cozy, and lovely. We both HIGHLY recommend. This is definitely added to our "must take friends" list. Fabulous!
