I hired Mike Williams in March of 2015. He was recommended by my interior designer, who had worked with him previously, and neither of us will be calling him again. We had a bathroom, kitchen, bedroom remodel. Mike asked me when he needed to start the project, and I told him ASAP. My husband was having surgery, I had tenants waiting to move into the condo, and he told me no problem. I became suspicious, as the months went by, and it became obvious, Mike had taken another job. He gave me his word, which basically kept changing with each phone call. Bottom line, Mike started June 1st, three months late, and did sub standard work, since his crew was on other jobs. Shower doors were installed incorrectly, and I had to replace. Tile work had to be redone, and even now the wall behind the shower is unstable. Mike also had to work within the rules and schedule of a condo building. He kept blaming the building, each time he would not reserve the elevator in advance. This small remodel was a nightmare. We should have fired Mike Williams when he kept making promises that he just did not keep. Since he was recommended, and our designer assured us he always finished the job professionally, we trusted he would do so.
I have never met a contractor, and I have worked with many, who fabricated stories, believing we did not know what he was up too, and only stepped up to finish the remodel, with minimal quality, to finish under the threat of being fired. I find it hard to believe that Butterfield & Sons recived 5 star ratings. Maybe he had his act together in 2014...not for us in 2015!!!!! read more
