I'm new to the area and found this place thanks to Yelp. I was not disappointed at all. I had the 1/2 sandwich with macaroni salad. I am not a hearty eater so this portion was perfect for me. I arrived about 10 minutes before noon and it was not packed at all. Once it hit noon, people started coming in. I heard the lady tell someone that it was about a 25 minute wait. Since I came before noon, I waited only 10-12 minutes. There is seating indoors and outdoors. I was going to sit outside but it was a little chilly for me. The inside was filled mostly with people waiting for their order. They also sell cookies and potato chips. I also picked up some Baked Lays chips since not all sandwich places sell the Baked variety. The cookies looked big, so next time I visit, I will try a cookie. I also saw they sell soup. Since it was Friday, they had Clam Chowder. Their paper menu doesn't list soup or any of the chips and cookies sides. The lady who takes your order is no nonsense but she knows her stuff. She works fast to take your order. Per the owner, I think he's the owner, he says they're not affiliated with yelp, nor does he understand how that goes about. With that said, let me say the sandwiches and salads are good. A bit pricey for a sandwich but the quality of the meat and produce is good. However, upon ordering a barbecue beef sandwich. They were a bit frugal on the beef. So keep in mind if you're ordering the foot-long sandwich. About 2 inches on the end is probably bread. And another thing, I appreciate the gloves when preparing my sandwich. I have been to butchers a few times before and it has always been efficient. Their portions are large and it's a family owned business, which I love. However, today the shop was very busy preparing commercial orders and regular customers were left hanging. I took me a 35 minute wait to receive a tuna salad sandwich. Some of the nicest people I've ever met work here and that right there makes coming in to eat that much better. I found out about this hidden gem thanks to a Moto podcast I listen to (Thanks Steve from PulpMx) and figured why not give it a shot! It's a small location but has a decent amount of seats to enjoy your food inside and even some outside to eat at on a nice day. The food is hands down one of my all time favorites to get when I'm in the area because you can just tell it's not rushed when made. I've gotten the turkey bacon avocado a few times and my other go to is the meatball, both I find have amazing taste and are very filling even when getting the smalls. The soup I got I want to say was chicken enchilada but I can't remember, that as well had such good taste and paired well with my sandwich. But my favorite thing to get no matter what sandwich I've gotten is the macaroni salad! So much flavor and just an amazing side! There is an indoor seating area with about three long tables, community style. There's some outdoor seating as well. They take orders first and you pay after. And the lunch rush is just that, so call-in orders early. The bread: they have grinder rolls that are fresh, fluffy and airy without too much bread to sandwich ratio. They also have specialty sandwiches with squaw, rye or sourdough. Sandwiches: they have a variety of the typical cold cut sandwiches and sometimes specials. Recently they had an Italian sandwich with a variety of meats like capicola, salami and ham. They also have a variety of hot sandwiches including some of their specialties such as the A1 brisket, the pastrami on onion roll, and the Butchie Steak (Philly cheesesteak with Chipotle mayo) which is my personal favorite. I have been here twice both at the recommendation of various staff at Riverside Community Hospital. You know to expect something yummy when multiple hospital staff tell you to give this place a try. Its located right behind the hospital off Brockton in a small shopping center. The restaurant itself is small with seating maybe for 24. One of their most popular is Turkey and avocado on squaw. I ordered a half and boy was it a treat. It's a humongous sandwich with the freshest ingredients- soft bread, delicious Turkey and provolone, lettuce, tomato, avocado and a hint of mayo. Don't let the simplicity of this sandwich fool you. Its probably one of the best I have had. Along with the sandwich came your choice of side salad. I picked their macaroni which was equally as delightful. You could see cheese, pickle or relish and a sweet mayonnaise base. I topped off my lunch with a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie- straight from the oven. Overall I was totally impressed with the quality of food at Butch's grinders.
