Butch's - view from water

Gotta say - don't really get the high rating this place has so far (currently a 4). I had a beef burrito supreme - it was fine. Not good, not bad... ok. Husband had beef burrito and he did not like it. (He pondered how the beef got to the particular color that it was.) Since they sell their bottle salsa, I'm assuming that's well liked around the area - and it did seem good. Service was good. Location was good. The fact that they have a parkiing lot with available parking in it is a double bonus - makes it easy to go there. Would I return? No, don't think so. Would I recommend? Probably not.

Literally terrible. No seasoning on anything. Burritos have no rice, beans, pico de Gallo... it's bland. I gave back my burrito and asked for chips and guacamole and still it was bad. Anyways don't go lol

This place is located down the main road headed to Grand Haven State Park. The food is okay and ranges from tacos to burritos, hot dogs, and other treats. Prices are fairly inexpensive. There is also a selection of frozen non-alcoholic drinks to try which are nice on a warm sunny day. The place itself is tiny. The tables to eat at are located outside, or you can take a short walk back to the boardwalk and eat on one of the many benches there. The menu is posted right when you walk in, and they also have a selection of salsas to choose from you can buy to take home. For myself,I ordered a beef supreme burrito. I requested the spiciest salsa they had and extra sour cream. The only bizarre element, my burrito had was that inside of it pepperoncinis and olives were added which I wasn't a huge fan of. Overall, food came out quickly and owners were extremely friendly. Food, was okay, I won't be running back anytime soon, but if in the area and forget to pack a lunch, I will definitely make a return trip!

Conveniently located near the state park, Butch's has consistently good food, including bean and beef burritos, taco salads, Chiwawa Chili Dogs, and freshly made salsas. Vegetarian items are also available. For a complete menu, please visit www.butchsbeachburritos.com.

Beef taco

This place should not be considered a Mexican restaurant of any sort. The tacos and burritos were extremely over priced for what they were. I paid $7 to get a cold, doughy tortilla with what I assume to be warmed up canned chicken with some lettuce and salsa. The picture below is an example of their beef taco that I also purchased. If you love bland, boring, and overpriced food I suggest coming here.

Great Cali vibes. Solid food but portions are a little small for the price. Tacos were tasty and we enjoyed sitting at the outdoor tables.

Food was ok. Service was not very good. They were not very accommodating when I asked for a cup of tap water to provide my dog on a hot day.

We went here last night because they were open until 10:30 p.m. We didn't want to go anywhere…read moredowntown because it's Coast Guard week and there's very scarce parking to be found. I was not very hungry but I got the flautas for $7, which was a great deal... You get three of them. They give us free chips and salsa to start which is always nice. My fiance ordered a large margarita and it ended up being huge, so be aware, lol ... They also offer a small and medium size. He got the seafood burrito and enjoyed it a lot. I also got a horchata ($5) which was a bit expensive but very delicious, a lot of places use mixes and you can tell that this place does not. Overall I would come back here when in the Grand Haven area, waitservice was fast and friendly as well.

I appreciate not feeling like we're bothering the staff and keeping them. Service: Always top notch. They are efficient with serving the food, refilling drinks, and bring chips and salsa nearly as soon as you sit down. Food: I've tried quite a few things here and loved it all. The food I got most recently was a type of taco that you dip. The flavor was beyond amazing, though it definitely had a little kick to it. (I do not do spicy food, but the server said it wasn't spicy. If you're like me, it is a bit spicy). Ambiance: They have fun booths and decorations around the restaurant and always have upbeat Mexican music playing. It's usually somewhat busy, but as we go during off hours, never too full. And, we've never had to wait to be seated, which we really like.

Met up with a friend for brunch at Morning Star recently. It was my first time visiting and I was…read moreexcited since breakfast/brunch is my favorite meal to order out! There was a bit of a wait but they have a little area to sit and browse the menu. The place is cozy and homey, a bit crowded but not too bad. Our server was really helpful and kind. I ordered a coffee, and they have alcoholic options if you'd like a bloody mary, spiked coffee, mimosa, etc. I liked that they brought me my own little carafe for the table. We ordered a blueberry pancake for the table, and I got the tree hugger (zucchini, yellow squash, tomato, mushroom, baby spinach, black beans, and cheese, served over diced redskin potatoes. I also added eggs. The pancake was fluffy and sweet, and very large which was great for us to split. I really wanted some vegetables so I was very happy with the tree hugger. It was cheesy and warm, and all the veggies were delicious. I added some hot sauce which made it perfect! My friend got the breakfast burrito which looked really good. I'm glad I got to try this spot and would come back! They do have a lunch menu during the week as well (it said lunch items are limited on weekends).

This is a local favorite. But if you're not local, let me give you a review…read more I have mixed feelings about this place. First off let me point out that there is no private parking lot for this place. This is no big deal if you're from a bigger city like GR, Chi or NYC. But if you're from a smaller town like Muskegon, Coopersville or Fremont where every business has their own private lot this might be a major inconvenience to you. park across the street or on the street if you can find a spot. I was patronizing MSC on a very cold day. This old location has no air lock on the front door, so everytime it opens to let customers exit or enter....the cold air rushes in. Keep that in mind when choosing your table. The restaurant has a warehouse feel to it, similar to the Blue Porch on Beacon Blvd. If you like that style....great. If not you have to deal with acoustics, and a cold drafty feeling, especially in the Winter. Food was actually in line with other restaurants in town unless you want to start getting fancy with the "specials." Believe me, those specials are very popular. Especially the waffle/pancake dishes that are similar to a super sweet dessert at 2000 calories. The last time I was there, the server was friendly, but because of the layout of the dining room, they have a hard time keeping an eye on the tables. So getting a coffee refill or a request for something becomes a waiting game. Overall the food is presented very well and is tasty.
