With that said, I appreciate the smaller size for me to enjoy more variety every time I stop by. My favorites change from visit to visit, but generally I always get Suadero (roast meat), Campechano (roast meat & sausage), Buche (pork stomach), Cabeza (beef head), and Lengua (beef tongue). I also like the extra weird parts like Cesos (beef brain) and Ojos (beef eye). However, the texture is very mushy and definitely not for everyone. As accompaniments, for every two tacos you order, they also give you a long stem onion that is quite tender and delicious. On the down side, instead of the traditional lime and radish that most places give, Tacos El Borrego offers lemon and cucumbers. I'm not sure why, except maybe they are cheaper options than the normal garnishes. Also, don't forget the flavorful green and red sauces on the table if you are eating there. Otherwise, ask for some to go. I miss the days when our group of friends would get a few tacos late at night after a party or night out drinking. The prices are no longer the same, but the food is still perfect for sobering up while having some laughs on the streets during the warm months. I think back to those days fondly whenever I'm at a taco stand nowadays, and Tacos El Botrego is one of my favorites in NYC.
