Service is too notch here. Large orders? Please call ahead so they can confirm inventory, and kindly get it ready for you before picking up. Closed on Sunday and Mondays. Busy, but they move fast. My go tos here are hamburger meat, their filet mignon. And an allergy friendly BBQ sauce. I love that they are right across from My Daddy's Bakery/eatery. Especially over thr holidays. Meats and treats.

This is not my first review of butcher Bob's, but it is for their steaks. I came in tonight for a special steak for my wife and I to share. Our "steak specialist" pointed out the ribeye prime. That's the only one I've ever bought in store or at a restaurant as it's my favorite cut. I brought home and seasoned with kosher salt and pan seared it with butter, fresh garlic and rosemary. I also sautéed some mushrooms in butter. Along with a baked potato and salad, we had a meal fit for a king! Making it at home, it was the best quality for a fraction of the price of eating out these days. Not to mention the adult beverages we enjoyed with our meal.

And you'll never find another cut of steak like Bob's bee-eee-eef! -Brerrie I've been grilling/cooking the flavor out of meat for nearly thirty year now. It doesn't matter where I bought it: Costco, any grocery store, circle k... the one thing for sure was that it was going to end up dry and flavorless. So when my wife mentioned the Meater probe, I knew it would pay for itself within two meals. Our maiden voyage included two boneless rib eyes from Sprouts, and it was a rousing success! Round two, enter Butcher Bob's... Me, from a year ago, would laugh at the thought of spending $35 a pound just to turn beautiful fillets into worn shoe leather... but it's a new day my friend, and thanks to the Meater, my wife and I are now producing steakhouse quality meals at a fraction of the price! Bob's quality is a cut above, eliciting childhood memories of when my dad was rocking the grill. Even the fat packs a tasty punch. Hey Guy, we finally found Flavor Town!

Went for the first time this weekend just to look and left with some hotdogs and brats.. Gotta say they were amazing! Service was also excellent and will definitely be back for more this coming weekend! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a local butcher shop! read more

I'm visiting my son and family from NC. We passed by Bob's on Saturday night and saw the meats in the case which was all lit up from the highway. Being from the midwest, I was really intrigued. Went back on Tuesday and what an impressive place.I just wanted to try everything. Picked out several different steaks (T-Bones, Ribeye, Filet Mignon) to grill. The gentleman who helped us through the process of choosing the meats was so very patient and knowledgeable of all the products. OMG, the meats were so buttery (which is so hard to find even in an upscale restaurant) and tender. Even my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter, who doesn't like beef, kept coming back for more. I would give it 10 stars if I could. read more

My husband and I finally made our way over here this weekend after reading the rave reviews on Yelp. We were tired of the sub-par grocery store steaks and wanted to splurge on quality filets. Butcher Bob's exceeded our expectations! We cooked the filets medium rare, seasoning only with salt, pepper, olive oil, and a dash of Worchestershire (sp?). They came out tender, and buttery. Best of all we got 2 restaurant quality steaks for $16.00! (I think they were $18.00/lb) All their meats looked so fresh and delicious. They had everything from veal to plain chicken breasts. All the meats were very reasonably priced for the quality you get. They also have Boar's Head deli meats. read more

Just moved here from So. Ca. (Simi Valley) and we were looking for a good butcher shop. Found "Butcher Bob's" on Yelp and were we ever pleased. Gotta say that the Rib Eyes we bought were probably the most delish we've ever had! Been back just about once a week since. So great to find such a class act butcher shop here in Surprise with excellent service. We'll definitely be going back there for years to come. I've been using this butcher since I moved here two years ago! Great customer service, quality meats and with the ability to obtain fresh seafood on a monthly basis, this place covers it all. Then to top it off I received a call from the owner today apologizing to me for a simple misunderstanding made by one of his employees who mistakingly charged me for a turkey I prepaid for and completely forgot about myself! Always great selection and superb quality. Real butcher shop - like buying meat used to be, before the world was taken over completely by supermarkets. The best never-frozen turkeys since Young's Farm. Special, hard-to-find treats like rabbit, shanks, breaded cutlets, etc, as well as all the more usual types of meat and poultry. Great personal service given to every single customer. Convenient - just off Bell Road. Limited, tightly packed parking, but worth the effort. Highly recommended. read more

Stopped by for the first time on 10/23/15. I have never bought meats from a true butcher before and they were very understanding and helpful and waited patiently as i tried to decide what I was going to purchase. All the fresh meats looked amazing. I purchased ground beef, Iowa pork chops, pork cutlets, prime rib eye and NY strip, huge chicken wings and chorizo. The chicken wings were the moistest wings ever and the steaks grilled perfectly! I cant wait to try everything else. Fine meats and great service, I will definitely be back. read more

This place is the best. I was getting grass fed beef and free range chicken delivered but I now get all my meat from Butcher Bob's. Their steaks, roast, and chicken are phenomenal. Our thanksgiving turkey was the best I've had in years. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Oh yes, and the service is superb. All the people that work there are extremely knowledgeable and can help you pick out the best cut for what you need. read more

This is the best rib eye I've encountered in 50 years. Well marbled, juicy, flavorful, cut with a fork. I don't mind spending good money for a fine product. They are friendly and helpful people. Wish they would stay open later than 5 pm. I'm not from San Francisco. Am from Glendale Arizona. read more

Found this local butcher shop in Sun City absolutely amazing,super clean, quality of meat and presentation are impressive. The carne asada was Most flavorful asada I have ever had. Met the owner Jason who was very nice. The Butcher Walt was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. service was outstanding!! it will be my first choice for meat, sausage, poultry, and fresh fish. I am new to this area and was so happy when I found a butcher to buy short ribs. I asked for 5lbs, and was charged $30.00, when I got home and opened the package 1/2 of the meat was only fat and bones, I was extremly disappointed. When I called and spoke to the guy that sold it to me, he responded very rudely that he was not going to just give me prime cut and thats just how it is sold. I couldn'r believe it. Yesterday I was at Sams Club and they had beautiful short ribs and it was all prime cut for 1/2 the price. I think Butcher Bob';s takes adavantage of the seniors in the area with low quality meats and crappy customer service. I believe he thinks since he is the only butcher around he can get away with this. I will never go there again. By the way, their Ribeye steaks $14.58lb, is that not crazy!!! Safeway, Albertons, Bashas...all have ribeye steaks for no more than $10.99 and the quality is equal or better. Unbelievable, shame on you Butcher Bobs. read more

What can I say but WOW!! I have purchased a lot of meat from other meat markets around the country...all I can say now is WOW! I purchased a sirloin steak...some hamburger and breakfast sausage...tis is about the sir loin....BEST I'VE HAD!...TENDER...JUICY AND EXTREMELY FLAVORFUL!! I'll get to the breakfast sausage and hamburger tomorrow and post again. It ain't cheap!....But worth every cent!! read more

This place is fantastic. I order swordfish. I had never tried it and not a fish kind of person. However my boyfriend loves it. Looked around for someone that had a good fish selection. I found Butcher Bobs! Got put on their monthly fish order email list. Order the swordfish and went to pick it up. The people here are awesome. Not only were they super helpful but the selection of meat was glorious! You can tell their cuts are top notch. Ended up buying a duck as well. This is the best butcher shop I have been to in years!!! I will defiantly be a loyal customer for many years. Oh and the swordfish truly is delicious!!!! ‼ read more

No doubt Butcher Bob's has the best quality meats I know of; the reason I gave three stars is for hygiene concerns and defensive attitude. The butchers don't use gloves or paper sheet to remove meat from the showcase and then go to the cash register....return to the next customer with the same unclean hands. I have at least three times brought this to their attention and the butcher got defensive saying "do you know what it would cost if we have to use a clean pair of gloves and sheet of paper for each customer ." I've quit going there so many times, yet return now and then. Was recently there for a filet mignon and rinsed it when I got home. Nothing has changed there. Surprising I never got sick from whatever could be on their hands, especially with them counting change out at the register. Tried to find them on the Maricopa County restaurant/food rating but do not see the name listed. read more

I see alot of references to COSTCO here. Walmart and COSTCO are really no different. What happens when a big box retailer moves in, all the mom & pop local shops take a big hit in sales, why, because people would rather give their dollars to the corp giants, than support the local guys. it is your prerogative to do as you please, its called freedom. By the way, the profits do not stay in this state, you are funding the Washington state. Don't gripe about getting something you didn't want, you have the authority to say, "no, thats not what I want". Say what you will, I have never had a bad experience at Butcher Bobs, the product is the best, I'm always satisfied with my purchases, I know I may spend a little more, but the quality is ALWAYS superb! Kroger, safeway, costco, are not a part of my community, those profits go to other states, why support money taken out of our local economy. I want to see my neighbors do well. I thought I read some lady left the store crying, because she felt insulted, have you ever tried to talk to a safeway employee, and ask them how to cook something, the kid looks at you with a blank stare, gee, let me get the manager. You felt insulted, really??, grow up, Don Rickles made a living out of insulting people, & you choose to be upset, don't blame a butcher shop cuz your feelings are hurt! Support you local butcher shop, they sell the highest quality products, and they will tell you how to cook it so it turns out great, WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT? if its too expensive, maybe you should look at your cell phone plan, and downgrade that, to get some extra money, maybe, get a old flip phone instead of the newest iphone, check you priorities. read more

I have been to butcher bobs on several occasion to experience one of gentlemen with gray hair at front counter being very rude, I understand everyone has a bad days, but honestly every time I am there he seems to act as if any customer is a inconvenience to serve, today when I entered a few people came in behind me and he made sure he told them the limit in room is 6, his tone was very stern! Yet no where is this posted where you can see it any where, when the people behind me left, another couple with a dog came in and interesting he said nothing about this couple and yet there again was more then 6 people and a dog. Honestly the meat here is not that good to receive rude service. always try to invent in local businesses, i see rudeness all the time, not sure I need to pay for it, Time for me find another meat market. read more

I've been coming to Bobs for years, probably over 50 times, and it used to be my go-to spot for ground beef and steaks. Unfortunately, the quality has really gone downhill lately. The steaks have become so tough and full of tendons that they're barely edible. This wasn't the case when I first started coming here. It's disappointing to see the quality drop while the prices stay the same or even go up. I used to recommend this place to friends, but after several bad experiences in a row, I won't be shopping here anymore. Really unfortunate to see such a decline. read more

Ole time and old time favorite butcher's are hard to find these days, but Butcher Bob's is the finest and they will accomodate whatever your needs are concerning meats. In my book, there is none better than Butcher Bob's in Surprise, AZ or the entire valley for that matter. Check them out and you'll be glad you did!
