Very disappointed on the consistent lack of promotional item in-stock conditions. I am rethinking my entire shop due to ad out-of-stocks at about 75% of the time. I was so disappointed when they put in self check. Bashas is known for hiring local people, giving good service and an Arizonan family owned store. Then I noticed their prices were going up more than usual to the point that it was as easy to go to another store to keep my food cost down. Then I found out Bashas was bought out by a California based corp Raleys a California based company. It started making since. It was sold in 2021. I don't go there anymore. I loved the kind checkers and since I have some difficulty lifting I would have my cart filled and take it to my car. California ruined another Arizona pride. read more

I'm not sure where else to write a complaint. My daughters and I have been coming to this location every Friday to get donuts for 10 years. Their favorite part is talking to the staff behind the counter. They are always nice, efficient, and helpful. They know us by name. We walked in today to see a giant self serve donut shelving unit replacing the old one. You can no longer see or order from the staff. We were there on our usual Friday, usually packed with customers. No one was there. This is a sad day for us. You guys have replaced your team, it's a bad look on you. We will be finding a new place to get our donut fix, and I'm sure others will too. read more

DO NOT COME TO THIS STORE!! No one should EVER feel like a burden coming in!!!! Tonight we decided to come on into bashas for the convenience of purchasing renaissance tickets. We get up to customer service and unfortunately we were a huge burden to your employee Sandy as she Huffs and puffs to the counter . We ask for the tickets and she flew open the drawer and says annoyed "for who?? I'm guessing two adults" I say yes and that is all. She grabs them and holds them down on the counter while I grab my card out. She then answers the phone with "yes???? Bashas" and completely disregards us as if we weren't in the middle of anything at all, she points to the card reader with attitude. And i understand my cue to pay, never once says my total. Once the transaction was finalized she THROWS the tickets at us on the counter!!! And continues talking to some named Mike?? Or Michael?? My husband and I look at eachother in distraught of miss Sandy. The receipt then prints out and her conversation with Mike was ended with "okay I'll let you know" and hangs up the phone . I wait for a second for her to maybe say " have a good night???" Or maybe atleast hand me the receipt??! But nope ,nothing just stares at the Register. I am obviously ready to get this lady out of my face and I reach over the counter, grab my own receipt as she watches me rip I from the machine in front of her and say to sandy "great thank you". We were there on Thanksgiving day. We forgot a few things. They are so friendly. We were looking for Velveeta cheese we have found that no matter what store are you going into it is never in the same place at any other store. Sometimes it's in the Mexican food section, sometimes it's in the snack section, sometimes iin condiments. They were so helpful the lady exactly where it was. I noticed that there prices on things were a lot lower than Safeway. I will be going there more often. read more

Pharmacist was extremely rude and lied to me twice. I had went in for a prescription and was met with a condescending attitude by one of the ladies who work there. When I had asked for my prescription one of them was not in stalk so I asked her when she could get it in and she said she could call and have it in by 12 the next day. I come in the next day and the same lady rudely interrupted me and another lady at the counter to say that now apparently my prescription can't be filled at all because their wholesaler doesn't provide it? But you said they did and I apparently wasn't deserving of a call back either to let me know it wasn't going to be in stalk. That lady then proceeded to tell me that I had to go to another pharmacy and ask them to send what they have in stalk back to bashes location, so I did and they said they'd give me a call when it's transferred. No call. I called in today to be told that my prescription was moved to another location instead of it coming back over to them, which is not what we talked about and I've been told it was processed by that same lady who had checked me out rudely the first time. This is extremely frustrating and irresponsible of the pharmacy. My prescription was set to be filled at bashes because I pay out of pocket for my medication and GoodRx makes it 40$ less than the other pharmacy's. She knew I was using GoodRX because I used it for the first half of my prescription they could fill on the first day. She was an older white lady with strong prescription glasses who I've been told covers this location along with another. I don't recommend coming here unless you want to be poorly serviced by judgmental staff and gaslighted about your own medication. Edit: I was referencing the wrong GoodRx price, it's actually much cheaper than I anticipated from both locations. That was my bad but I was still talked down to and given less than accurate information about how my medication needed to be handled. Still would not recommend. read more

I was at this Bashas on Wednesday august 10, my mom was looking for a specific item, she asked the Casheir, u need to know my moms speech is really hard to understand she has dementia and has had a stroke, she asked Sheila the Casheir and Randy who was bagging her stuff if they knew If they had it. They both patiently listened to her and figured out what she was looking for, Randy was nice enough to take her to the different items and read the ingredients of what was in the different items. We are going through rough patches and their efforts put a much needed smile on my moms face. read more

It's not just one or two shocking experiences, it has been recent multiple and inexcusable encounters. I have been shopping at this Bashas' since it opened. I used to enjoy the employees and even the energy in the store. The energy there is so bad now!! It feels like NONE of the employees want to be there! I can understand on some level, but it doesn't give an employee the right to be rude and obnoxious to their customers or even refuse a simple request at the meat counter. I would choose Bashas' over Fry's in AZ any day. Smaller store with many amenities. There is a Starbucks and Wells Fargo located inside. I love the bakery and cafe style seating. The produce is fresh, employees are helpful and courteous, and the store is very clean. You may pay a little more but I think it's worth it. read more

I've been shopping at this Bashas for years, The employees are friendly and helpful, recently however the meat department/butcher is sketchy. The quality of meat presented is horrible, gray colored steaks, thin cuts just plain bad. There is also an odd fellow working behind the counter there that seems to talk and engage in odd conversations outside of a normal customer, merchant conversation, so bad I go out of my way to avoid the guy whenever I see him. Tonight's adventure found me behind a "lady" buying numerous items, paying through the single check out line with an out of state CHECK from an unrecognized bank that caused me, next guy in line with cash, DISASTER. "Lynn" who has been a disaster of several transactions in the past, played along with the woman from Washington State while her daughter, able to quickly correct the matter, stood by motionless while the single line piled up and the transaction prolonged with the addition of a local address on the check, a lot of girly smiles and pleasantries while I waited, cash in hand. Who the hell tries to pass a out of state check at a grocery store without knowing the consequences? Again, the daughter stands by, pretending to be clueless. I used to love this Basha's. Lately though I've had to routinely return meat because it goes bad before its sell by date. Their meat department is completely inept and shady. They back date their meat and we have even on occasion found that they place stickers over brown and spoiling sections of their steaks just to sell them. Food safety is no joke and these clowns are going to end up killing one of their elderly customers one of these days. Just last night I bought a pound and a half of king crab legs and they were already bad less than 24 hours later with a sell by date of 7/26. We had to return them. We will start shopping at Sprouts up North from now on. I'll pay the higher prices knowing I'm not going to have to question wether or not the food I just bought is bad. This is the second time we've gone to this store for their 8 piece Fried Chicken special. It was an advertised special both times. But when we got there, there was no chicken available and the girl behind the counter said she would have to make some. It would take 15 to 20 minutes. The second time it was on July 3rd, so just on time for the Holiday weekend. We do not understand why at dinner time and especially at a busy time of year and when its' on special that this chicken is not anticipated for the supper hour. Why make people wait 15-20 minutes for their pick up? This seems like a very poor way to do this service. I drive several miles to shop at this Bashas'. There is a Safeway store less than 5 minutes away from my house but I prefer Bashas'. One of the best things about Bashas' is their employees.
