The grocery store was nice, the selection was not great. I could not find any loose nuts or dried fruit for trail mix that I can usually find at most grocery stores. The staff were friendly- I was surprised that they closed the meat counter around 6 pm. As for items being on the shelves and in stock; Nope. This place is continuously out of things early in the week (today is just Tuesday). Nobody out restocking either at 3:30pm in the afternoon. Seen several employees just standing around though, yakking. Cashier (receipt says "Josephine") beyond rude. Never acknowledged us, when we made a request about bagging she immediately copped an attitude and gave a snarky response. O.....K......to call her unfriendly would be an understatement. Why is it this particular FRYS seems hell-bent on hiring older people who never leave the trailer park except to go to work? There's a reason the majority of our shopping is done at SAFEWAY. I was able to purchase the last 3 heavy creams on the shelf from the Kroger label. Sorry friends if you were looking!! This store always seems to be a mix of crowded & cluttered. Things are mostly easy enough to find. I do have to say, I used the women's restroom when I first entered the store. It is usually overflowing with paper towels in the waste bin & there is inevitably a massive role of paper towels sitting on the counter next to the sink. But, actually going into a stall & finding not just NO toilet paper but the toilet paper dispense duct taped to the wall was not at all what I was expecting. I get it, it's the holidays & staff is short. But come on! A duct taped toilet paper dispense w/o toilet paper & a massive role of paper towels on the counter between the sinks to get wet & touched by everyone? That's a bit much. read more

I'm totally disgusted with the quality of produce at Fry's. In the last 2 months I have bought 2 watermelons (all mush), broccoli twice with black mold, asparagus ( no taste and lots of decay in the middle), etc. I shop here as little as possible and now it will be even less. The other grocery stores are the same, Safeway and Albertsons, you never know how old it is and what you are paying for till you get home and try to clean it! Pharmacy in 2023 they filled a prescription as tablet when it was written capsules. The woman there couldnt READ that prior for the same medication was capsule. now in 2024 they did the same thing for the same medication. I had given the MA in the doctors office the container that says capsule. the doctor read it back to me as capsule. They filled it wrong. AGAIN. One guy there didnt speak english and tried to overcharge me, not putting in my Good Rx that is on my account. The tall overweight dark hair and beard told me the doctor wrote it that way. HE LIED. confirmed in person with the office it was written as capsule, she showed me the screen. Now i have to go back and speak to someone to correct it bc i not taking the tablets. This is the worst Fry's to do a pickup. Wendy and Rhonda are rudest employees. They will lie to and if you question them, they will threaten to cancel your order. They do not know what they are doing. They blame any issues on the equipment. They give damaged or expired items. Lowest rating was 1 star. Should be negative stars. read more

Oh my goodness gracious this Fry's is so busy! It all started 18 years go while living in Litchfield Park, we attended a Bible church that was renting from another church for Sunday services. Our pastor moved to a Bible church in Youngtown. We all followed him and merged. It became our new church home. We were the youth of the community as it is filled with care homes, rehabilitation centers, and apartments for retirees. We would visit them singing Christmas Carol's, just sit and visit with individuals playing games and keeping them company on our days off work and, providing transportation back and forth to church to join us. Then covid hit. Having the only little ones left and them not allowing anyone else watch them so I could attend service and because of covid we stopped attending. Visits and game nights stopped as well. I kept close with few elderly gals who lived in apartments in the area. Not having assets at their age these apartments provide a discounted price. The apartments do not offer shuttle service to the store like other communities and most residents do not or no longer drive. I became a shopper for 3 of the gals. One of them was on state help and used EBT to shop so it was important to really spend grocery money intentionally so she got the most for her money. I gift I have. This location was right in their area where I could pick them up or go on my own to shop for them. One gal preferred this store as she felt comfy here. They have good sales. You need a lot of patience here as they are crazy busy. The parking lot is always packed. The check out clerks are really on the ball to keep everyone moving. I have picked up patio decore for myself here as well when shopping. It is an older store and could use a parking lot re-do and a update inside, but it is very popular for the residents in this area. I think it is the only big store in the area which makes it a necessity! This past week I said goodbye to the last of the three of them. Life is precious. The cool this about Fry's especially this location is they hire veterans, high school kids, and people with disabilities which can be a challenge which many of us don't realize. read more

I know it hasn't gotten great reviews, but I really like this Fry's. Say what you will about the senior citizens that have taken over Sun City, but at least they aren't trashing the place. The parking lot is clean with plenty of ample parking. Sure, you're going to run into your fair share of golf carts, but I have no idea why that would possibly dictate your review of the business itself. The senior citizens drive golf carts. They live in Sun City. The business is located in Sun City. How exactly would you like them to combat the golf cart driving senior citizens? Ban them from the establish? ...it's silly. So after you've dodged the crazed old people in their turbo-charged golf carts and make your way to the front of the store, you'll be pleasantly surprised to see it's super clean! The produce is fresh, the aisles are clean and clear (unlike your acne) and the shelves are always fully stocked! You'll be well aware you're not in Kansas anymore with the old time 50's and 60's music playing over the Muzak system. The registers at the check out are busy, but the front end managers do a good job in monitoring the activity. I've been there when it is really busy and they do not hesitate to call in reinforcements to open more checkout lanes. Now. Do not go apeshit if/when you come here at dinner time on a Monday evening and are floored if you have to wait a couple of minutes. You aren't honestly that naive, are you? You can't possibly be. You're not the only one on Planet Earth nor Sun City for that matter. It's a busy time at any grocery store. Employees aren't standing by idly at your beck & call waiting for you to be done with your shopping so they can check out instantaneously. Be realistic and be courteous. Everyone is busy. Everyone has things to do. Everyone wants to be home after a hard day at work. Be conscientious and mindful of this. I honestly wouldn't hesitate at all to recommend this location to my family and friends. It is clean, the employees are friendly, the shelves are stocked, the prices are low and the customer service is above average. The worst Grocery store I have ever shopped at, it used to be an excellent store but in the last year it has really changed! While paying for my purchase it was declined and I received a text message from my bank asking if I was making purchase at Fry's, I couldn't respond to the bank because it said I was using an unsecured network. So I told them I would be right back and I would re-ring my purchase, I stepped outside and turned off my Wi-Fi and responded to my bank and they said to go ahead and pay for my order, when I went back in they had dumped my order in with other go backs and put back my dairy products. When I tried to explain to the manager in charge he said I could just use their ATM, I said it wasn't in my network he said "it's only a dollar for god sake!" I would like someone from upper management to stand near the front desk and listen how they talk about how bad Fry's is and how other cashiers are stealing. Fry's Pharmacies are terrible bc they are understaffed, don't answer their phones, & even keep doctors on hold. Fry's on Waddell is the worse. They keep their drive-thru closed 99% of the time. This one & the one on Grand in Sun City sometimes answer the phone, then, hang it up, or just set it down & never come back. They must have terrible management or don't pay enough to have adequate staff. Walmart is totally opposite & is well staffed. read more

I've been calling the pharmacy and using the prompt to speak with a pharmacy employee. I can hear them pick up the phone, but, no one speaks to me. I can even hear the stores PA system. This is the most rude and childish behavior. I guess in this time of employee shortages this is the best they can get. I have only had a half dozen interactions with this pharmacy. My wife went to fry's pharmacy today on grand to get a prescription refilled. She was treated horribly. They rudely told her she had nothing to pick up even though she had the text message which said it was there. They made her feel she was the one who was wrong. Then they made her wait an hour to get her prescription filled when there was nobody in line the entire hour, 3 people were working in there and she just waited until it was filled. As a sidelights, the entire store was almost empty of people as most thinking people have voted with their feet and have gone to other better managed stores. We understand there have been many management changes, but the store treats its customers with total sisrwspect. We stopped shopping there for those reasons some time ago and will now be changing pharmacies. read more

We have shopped at this Frys location, in the grocery store and have always been satisfied with the staff and selection. However, after going through quite a process, my husband had a prescription sent for him, from a doctor, for Ivermectin. It is known to be very effective in curing colds, flus and a preventative therapy, for the " Covid". Once he presented it to the pharmacy clerk , he was informed that the pharmacy manager, Tom, would not allow for it to be filled. We have been told by other people ,that other Fry's pharmacies, do fill prescriptions for Ivermectin. I question WHY this pharmacy manager feels he has the right to refuse to fill prescriptions ,for specific medications, prescribed by physicians??? I won't be using their pharmacy again. read more

It was around 10pm and I thought that was the nicest gesture a manger could do for an employee to ensure their safety. Since moving to Sun City last July (2017) I have really liked my shopping experience. I compare it to another, in Phoenix. On Grand, there are lower prices, they have sales on the things you actually use!, and everyone has always been friendly and helpful. (I think if you are friendly, you will find that anyone else will return that respect.) I do find that they cater more to the older generation on Grand. That's fine by me, as I'm in that class! The parking lot is different. But I guess the store just has so much land. You know? It's like they have tried to put extra parking places! They do seem extra narrow, or close. The pharmacy service is terrible. You can't deal with them over the phone. They're rude. One person tells you they can't fill your prescription only to have another who can. In person, I had a pharmacist tell me my doctor gave no instructions for the medication only to be told later by a clerk they can't process meds without those instructions. They're terrible at processing Medicare by not knowing the proper sequence for filing claims with the appropriate plan. read more

"Gag Spelled Backwards Is Still Gag" At this very moment a storm of stomach bile is raging down there, seeking the means to surge up my throat and flood my mouth with a despicable gruel. My roiling stomach was caused by my morning breakfast of scrambled eggs and a store bought croissant. I was enjoying this particular holiday breakfast until I bit into something foreign in the heart of that croissant. When I plucked the suspicious object from my lips I spied a one inch piece of plastic. After closer inspection I saw that the offending object was actually one of those fake nail tips that women seem to love so much, proof positive that the store's baker had stuck her bare hands into the croissant dough. Yikes! Upon discovery it took all of my will power not to upchuck right into my breakfast plate. Needless to say the store manager, first thing tomorrow morning will be receiving the remaining croissants, with foreign object neatly wrapped in a napkin. I will of course get my refund. And I will never again frequent that store for my bakery goods. "Gag". (Hope you've all had your breakfast.) Added note: Although I am not overly fastidious, I do carry a grudge a long time. Starbucks inside is a pro HOWEVER they are always either slow or backed up. Regardless you'll probably be waiting a while. The actual fry's is clean and plenty on the shelves. Please remember where this location is, mostly seniors working and shopping there. read more

If you can get past the fact that this store is in Sun City and it's teamed with elderly customers, it's a very nice store that is well laid out with pleasant employees. Here are some tips for a successful visit to this store: 1) Be on high alert when you come into the parking lot. The elderly are always FIRST, no matter if you were there or not, and they will walk in front of you as though your car isn't even there or back out as though their car was on fire. They drive too fast or they brake very late so don't let your guard down. 2) If the elderly are first in the parking lot, they are still first at any station in fry's where there is a line too. Even if you were there first, they will cut right in front of you at deli, bakery, meat, floral...it doesn't matter. Fortunately, the staff is very good about politely reminding people about the order of operation and the order of the line. 3) Go early in the morning or after dark when possible and there is less of a crowd. This store is VERY busy so keep this in mind. 4) Because this store is across from Boswell, it has a lovely floral department and a nicer selection of cards. Keep this in mind and avoid the high priced gift shop at Boswell if you can. If you are patient, this store can be a good visit if you keep the above tips in mind. read more

I love this Fry's! Sure, it's right in the center of the senior capitol of Arizona, but you just need to figure out when to go (any time after 5pm - any day of the week). The store is HUGE! They have an awesome sushi bar with fresh made sushi, their produce is some of the best I have seen at a grocery store, and the customer service is great! Also, their overall selection of products is second to none. Recently, I have been going to WinCo for the slightly lower prices, but I may just start going back to Fry's. read more

I have been in the grocery workplace for 12 with another company. Currently disabled. Frys store on 107th has been a great place for me to shop! I have to use the scooter chair now. They really stay on top of it to make sure they are available and charged. Have had to ask for assistance many times and have come across some of the nicest staff. Store is clean. Aisles not crammed with too many displays. Has been a great place for me to shop. So much variety of items than some other stores. And some great prices! read more

Just shopped at this location, I did not enjoy my store visit. May i suggest that on Senior Discount Day, you ensure ALL self scans are functioning. Also, when the self scans are backed up, have a sign up directing customers to stand. I was chastised by another customer for standing in a line for the scanners to the right. She was in a line to the left. She then felt the need to tattle tail to the selfcheck cashier. The cashier rudely told my husband and I that we had to moved to to the end of another line which would have put us behind several people that had just got in line. Another customer jumped to our defense. I told the cashier they should put up a sign indicating where to line up. She retorted, this doesnt happen that often. I pointed out there was a out of service selfscan and she ignored me. No apology for the inconvenience. Just scolded for their error. read more

Have shopped here for over a decade. I've had major issues twice, most recently the lack of stock/replenish overall, but more troubling, on 1st Wednesdays. The past year has become more noticable decline. My list must be adjusted, amended, abandoned as there is no product available after 12 noon. This includes their flyer-featured SALES items. Once inventory is depleted, it stays that way for the rest of the day-nite, sometimes for days. Spending MY valuable time running down 'floor' workers to 'check in the back', several times a visit is the definition of insanity. The manager reports that 'everyone who shops there is happy!' Corporate was ameliorative but the result of that contact is yet to be experienced. Store management is in constant flux, as if Sun City is a 'waystation' to better things. As to the "most dangerous place on earth", the PARKING LOT, where painted lines, aisles, and lanes are apparently 'conceptual' to many shoppers.... I bought a dash cam and stay out of the central core. Bad driving habits are one thing; incivility and anger issues are prevalent. It seems as some seniors are not aware of the ubiquitness of cameras, in & out of the store; a feature I pointed out to the lady that jammed her 'scooter chair' in reverse, onto my foot and left it there while snarlng "How you like THAT?" She had been yelling at a cashier after checking out, I HAD checked out behind her, yet she continued. I asked to get around her to go home. She attempted to 'engage' me with her unhappiness. Um, no; behave yourself. I did have a word with mgmt on the way out, as I don't like bullies and the cashier was graceful under assault. read more

I used this Fry's to purchase $3750 in Western union money orders to purchase a vehicle. That vehicle sale fell through so I came back to this Fry's to cash out those money orders and was told that I had to wait three days to cash them. I've waited the three days to cash them and I am being told that they are refusing to cash the money orders that they issued so unless I can convince another place to cash the money orders that they issued, I am out $3750 even with the stubs from the money orders and my receipt from purchasing them. Therefore they do not guarantee their own money orders that they sell. I would never use them to purchase money orders to pay my rent or bills because obviously they don't guarantee their money orders. read more
