I like this frys even though it's more geared to older people, being in Sun City. I drive to this one instead of the one near my house in Surprise because the meat is fresher and service is better. I usually order my groceries and pick them up on Click List, it saves a lot of time. In Surprise there are a lot of issues with this function - a lot of time they are out of something and have had to do substitutions, and I've gotten fish there that was going bad and I had to return it. At the frys in Sun City they almost always have what I order and rarely have had to do a substitution, usually my order is perfect. I've also never seen a green steak being set out for sale like I've seen at a couple other frys. If you go in of course you're going to have to wait in lines, it's a grocery store and many of the shoppers need more accommodation so things take longer but I've gotten around that by using the pick up service. read more

I felt compelled to write about the Budget car rental service located just inside the entrance to Frys. It is conveinent, their cars are just at the edge of the building by the gas station, and their staff is friendly and efficient. On the downside, they are not open beyond bankers hours. But if you need a car for Sun City errands, they are fairly reasonable. Why they aren't listed as a Budget car rental separately on Yelp, I don't know, as they have been there at least a couple of years. As for the supermarket, they are a large store, seem to have lots of choices, friendly staff, easy checkout. If you are getting forgetful, they are accommodating, as they cater to the seniors of Sun City. Prices are great, compared to where I come from, Hawaii, and where I used to live, California. read more

Employee safety As I was checking out, a female employee walked up to a manager who was on the register directly behind me checking customers out. The employee was obviously upset and tried to tell the manager that there was a customer at the customer support desk harassing her and following her and would not leave her alone. The manager immediately got frustrated and annoyed that the employee was interrupting him. With a stressed and unpleasant voice he told her that he was on a register right now and dismissed her. TAKE CARE OF YOUR EMPLOYEES!!! This woman was upset and scared. Do something! Get on a radio and call someone to help her or better yet, man up, get someone to cover your register and go take care of the problem. Thankfully, one of the female managers who seemed to be more of a man and manager than the he was took care of the problem. I will not shop at a store where a manager refuses to take care of an employee's safety. read more

I had checked out a couple Frys and other grocery stores in the area and found they were not at the level I was used to. I went to this one when I was close by and I was nicely surprised. They are a bigger store, with a decent organic/natural section. Their deli is bigger, they have sushi in the store (typical grocery store sushi). They had a decent selection of produce. read more

Saturday noontime 3 registers open, lines 1/2 way down aisles, 99.5% of the cliental are senior citizens who do no like or want to use the self check outs (which go unused most of the time). Not a manager in site to complain to and when I complained to the customer service desk the excuse was people called in sick. I have over 20 years experience in the supermarket business and If the store/organization was managed correctly stock personnel would be cross-trained to fill in when busy. This is a reoccurring issue regardless of day or time at this location. read more

Anyone saying the employees here are friendly must have got a different batch of employees than I got this morning. Everyone was absolutely MISERABLE and so incredibly rude and not just to me but each other! I need help finding an item and there was an employee unpacking boxes in the aisle and I said hi excuse me and she looked up super annoyed and said "what!?" I said I'm just looking for this item and before I could finish my sentence she very snarkily cut me off and said yeah well it's over there and pointed off in a general direction. So I asked another employee and she informed me it was locked in a glass box and I needed someone to get me the key so I got in line and told the cashier what I needed and that I was told to ask for someone with a key to get it for me. She was annoyed at first but called a manager named sally over who looked absolutely miserable and she said "what" of course with an awful attitude. The cashier explained and Sally practically yelled well I don't have a key! At this point I was over the whole staff everyone that I encountered had a terrible terrible attitude. How this location has anything more than 2 stars is beyond me. To be clear I'm a night shift nurse I just finished a 12 hour shift I'm tired too! But I could never be so rude. Ever have to wait in line and watch one very slow pharmacy tech move at a snails pace and see two others just standing around doing nothing? And you're standing there behind a long line of people who are also waiting to pick up a prescription? You wait patiently and then, miracles upon miracles, it's finally your turn. And you find that the prescription the doctor called in for you four hours before isn't ready yet? Didn't even say it nicely. Rude people who could care less about what they're doing. I swear there was one man who may have passed away waiting, he sat there so still, I wasn't sure he was still alive. I will be taking my prescriptions somewhere else to be filled. I am so tired of the unfriendly way I'm treated at this store. read more

Not a bad store. Get here early or go late! You'll be amazed at how many walkers and canes occupy the aisles of this place, watch your toes when a electric cart comes down too, they're ruthless!!! Meat counter has no ticket dispenser so if it's crowded you'll be all thrown off. Nice selection of beer and liquor here as well, beer is my main beverage of choice so I know that aisle well read more

I always go grocery shopping with my girlfriends at this store. Produce is fresh and prices are great. Plus, I get Fuel Points for gas. Every cashier I have gone to seemed to be in a good mood. read more

I love this Frys, not only do they have a Starbucks inside but they have a sushi and salad bar. The sushi is made daily, and it taste amazing. As far as the rest of the grocery store, they have the biggest selection of items I have seen at a Frys, including 2 full aisles of organic items! read more

I'm here at least twice a week! Love this Fry's! The Starbucks is awesome and the lines at checkout are rarely long. Smaller Fry''s store on Grand Avenue in Sun City, but well stocked. Yes, it is located in a senior citizens community so don't expect to run in and get out quickly. Please be considerate of your elders. We will all be there one day. That said, steer clear on the first Wednesday of the month when Fry's offers 20% off for seniors. The store will be packed. Otherwise, this is a pleasant store to shop in. Cashiers and baggers, I find, are always friendly. I like the fact that Fry's offers jobs to physically and mentally challenged adults. Customer service desk clerks work their tails off, yet remain friendly. Returns are readily accepted. The produce section is awesome. There are several organic sections for produce and other products. The bakery and deli are also fantastic and well stocked. I just wish that this Fry's would bring back the deli ordering kiosk. It always made my shopping trip easier. They have added a new sushi/soup and salad bar. Nice touch! If something is out of stock, find a clerk and they will be happy to get it for you out of the back! I agree with another poster here that the crew working the Starbuck's could be friendlier. If something is not to your liking in this store, for pete's sake, go seek out a manager and tell them! Don't settle. Yes the prices have risen, but they are going-up everywhere it seems. My only negative about this store, (and Fry's in general), is their new brand of store products called "Simple Truth". There are 3 aisles full of these products. Personally, I don't care for them. I wish Fry's corporate would get rid of these products and use those 3 aisles for name brand products or even the "Private Selection" brand. It's totally wasted space in my opinion. (Are you listening Fry's/Kroger)? Always lots of check-out lines open at this store all the time. They also have 4 self check-out stations. Lastly, there is a Fry's fuel station at this location and the fuel rewards program is probably one of the best things Fry's has done in the past 2 decades! read more

The pharmacy sucks I do not know if it is due to the new laws, but, my Doctor called me in a rx last week and all I heard from the pharmacist was that it was to soon to be filled. I had to call my Doctor back for over 5 days to get this situation straight then the pharmacy told me that the Doctor changed my dosage which was wrong so I had to wait till after 3pm to get my pain medication. They texted me around 12:10pm and said it was ready same dosage I have always taken and my Doctor called this in last week. Not only that same doctor has been doing this for over 4 months now. I wonder if there is anything I can do about this. I get 9-10 rx filled there from Blood Pressure medication to Diabetes Pancreatic just to name a few. If anyone else has had a problem report them. read more

This store is only a hop with no skip and jump away from me. You would think I'd be a grateful person living so close to a market, but no! The parking lot is a disaster. I saw a woman right in front of me break her hip trying to walk to her car, and fell on the cement parking block. Paint those things would ya? The grocery carts are probably my biggest complaint. Why can't you have the small two tiered ones that they have at Walmart and Competitors? The answer I got when talking to a store manager was: because people steal them! No kidding! That's called a business loss and a tax write off. Or do what other stores have done in places like Las Vegas, put monitors on them where the wheels lock when rolled off the property. I live in Sun City, and yes we have lots of Great Grandmas and Dads so get over it! The aisles are not big enough for the giant carts, scooters, walkers, and canes. It would be so less wasteful if produce would pre cut half a cauliflower, squash, and other bigger veggies and fruits. The employees in the front of the house are very nice, but the deli and pharmacy is atrocious. They are not the pharmacy gods or the deli princesses, they are Kroger employees and should honor their policies. read more

This is a great store, with great gas prices also. One warning, the deli staff really doesn't deliver good customer service, there is surliness, and bad manners consistently in that dept. The rest of the staff seem great. read more

Starbucks inside this store SUCKS! First, I was so happy to know there is a Starbucks in the store that I don't need to drive to a Starbucks to buy my drink however; what I got is very big disappointment. There are 2 Barista working however; service is very slow & not friendly at all. I ordered my one & only ultimate favorite frap & they messed up my order. I over heard the barista asking the other barista who took my order; what is this? And replied; she just want 2 pumps of roast. When i got my order it looks like she had made my drink regular with 4pumps. I asked her if she only had put 2pump as my drink was very strong. She rudely replied; yes! I was like, i know my drink & this is not right. She then turned her back & ignored me. I'm so upset that all i want is my frap but all i got was disappointment. Threw it & walked away with no drink & paid for it. I will never buy starbucks there again!! read more

I have been shopping at this store at 10660 n.w. Grand ave. Sun City, AZ. for over six (6) years. Today was the last straw, 09/10/2014. I went shopping this morning, and returned a recept with a $4.00 error from last week. They gave me a refund, and I continued to shop. I purshased 151.00 worth and went home. I then checked my recept and found that on three (3) items (meat) that I'd been over charged again, to the tune of eight (8.00) dollars. SO, I drove back to the store and they refunded me again. This has happened many times over the past 6 years, and I don't know how many times that I didn't look at my recept. The aggravation and the gas, is something that is unacceptable. Do I really have to stand in other customers way, just to check my recept before I leave the store? I shop at minimum, 53 times a years. at this rate I will have been OVERCHARGED, $424.00 a year. Maybe its time to change to another supermarket chain. Absolutly ridiculous read more
