But, this place has changed and not for the better - I need to share why: Over the last couple of years the consistency in their food has gone from five stars to 1 for us and today was the last time we will ever go back and here is why: Service: Most of the people working there neither smile or greet you like they used to (even when the place is empty), they shove your plates at you across the counter and disappear. They girl (younger) seems to not comprehend the idea of focusing on taking the order and you have to repeat it over and over (it's still came out wrong - even when there is no customers?). Food: I loved their burger and fries - 3 time I have gone this month (busy, medium busy and no customers at different times in the day.) and all three times it has NOT been even close to what it was. For example: The hamburger meat falls apart the minute you bite into it, the bun is soaking wet with grease, the cheese causes everything to slide off (should you choose lettuce, tomato and etc). It actually becomes more like an accidental deconstructed hamburger than a real burger. The French Fries! They were awful: Burnt and the stale tasting (the oil was so old tasting - I almost threw up.) The fries also were hard as a rock! I have no idea what has caused the decline in portion size, flavors and overall cooking at this restaurant - but it is heartbreaking in a small town who seemed to spend time and money at this place. I would not recommend this place right now... Maybe they will fix the problem soon. I really hope they do.

It took three of them to take one order for one person. Nobody knew what they were doing. I paid almost $14 for a jalapeño cheeseburger large sized meal. They gave me my order number to place on my table and a large cup for my drink. It took them almost 15 minutes to get me my food and I had to walk up front to ask about it. Bear in mind there was only one other person in there in front of me. When I got my food, my hamburger was cold and my fries were not far behind that. I should've gone back and asked for a new hamburger, but I was so disgusted by the ignorance and lack of training of the staff that I just wanted to eat something and leave the restaurant. The restaurant itself was very very clean and as I said before, obviously very new. I stopped at the bathroom before I left. But for a new building and a bathroom that looked clean, the whole bathroom smelled like urine. I also have to say they added pickles to a hamburger that wasn't supposed to have pickles and I had to take them off before I ate my cold hamburger. I have eaten that several other Whataburger in different towns and had a good experience. This Whataburger in Griffin, Georgia, clearly has bad training and bad management and it is just opened. I will never be back to this Whataburger again. I had to repeat four times what I did not want on my hamburger. And that's with three of them standing there helping each other. Avoid this location of Whataburger at all costs.

I ordered a cheeseburger combo with cheese bits and onion rings. The sides looked pretty sad and were really tiny portions but tasted ok. My burger was yummy and I'm sure helped with my iron level for my recent blood donation. My son ordered a quesadilla and corn dogs but they didn't give him his Cajun fries and we didn't realize until we'd arrived home and sat down to eat. Bummer! Both of our shakes were tasty! I ordered Oreo, my son ordered peanut butter Oreo. Service was friendly but our order seemed to take a while. Fun fact: Guthrie's was my college foodie favorite in Tallahassee, FL. Seeing this location on our route (when we stopped for gas) gave me all the nostalgia feels and we had to pull over, STAT! The hubs had never heard of Guthrie's, but graciously accompanied me on my trip down memory lane as I squealed with glee, and enjoyed it as well. Although it's new (3 years old)-- this Guthrie's is the cleanest I've ever seen a fast food restaurant in my life. I pray they keep that up! The manager took our order and was so warm and friendly. True to form, I ordered a "Gut box" for old times' sake, and it was as perfect as it was circa 2003! The chicken tenders were fantastically golden. The buttery toast had that crispiness (not soggy from steam in the box like the other guys) to it that I love. Those fries were perfection as well. I hoovered everything down so fast I forgot to take photos. All in all, it was a great Guthrie's reunion for me and a great first time experience for the hubs. A win is a win!
