It was a rainy Sunday morning, Busy Bee is located in downtown Marietta, the parking lot by the restaurant was full of mud due to the rain that we parked on the side of the road. Customers can sit wherever they want, we sat at a table by the register. The service was friendly and the coffee mug is cute! I ordered "Busy Bee" breakfast which is two eggs sunny side up, three pieces of bacon, home fries, and two pieces of wheat toast. The food was fulfilling, the bacon was still greasy that I couldn't finish. When we finished our brunch, the restaurant is packed again. read more

A popular place with locals, known best for its big breakfast dishes. They do serve some lunch items as well. Personally, I believe the locally-owned restaurant to be somewhat overrated. They are not very diabetic-friendly, and while the food is ok i just don't find the menu options all that appealing. That said, this is a place of individual tastes. Many people enjoy it, so try it out once and see what you think. Be sure to order a glass of their fresh-squeezed orange juice (unless, once again, you must limit your sugar intake). read more

This is the best tasting breakfast I have ever had at a restaurant. The biscuits taste like grandma made them from scratch. I have no clue how this restaurant doesn't have 5 stars all the way across the board. The chicken fried steak and gravy is Texan approved! The gravy has the taste of bacon renderings used for the base....the only way homemade gravy should be done. The pancakes are the size of dinner plates and everything comes from local farms! My husband said the sausage was fantastic and it's also locally sourced. We are some happy Texans here! Also....they serve alcoholic beverages! read more

I'd love to give this place a higher rating but our experience just wasn't great. I would give lower stars honestly had it not been so incredibly busy and they seem short staffed so attribute some of the situation to that. We signed in at hostess stand and was told 15-20, 40 min later we see we are next...yay. Then the hostess sits another 2 top in front of us also a party of two. I go up to ask her about it and watch her cross our name off -- if I wouldn't have caught this we would've never been called. Ok fine-- crisis averted. Ordered our food and I ordered a pancake with mine -- it came out completely undercooked -- I've never seen that happen anywhere but it was still batter inside. Overall just not a good experience for a breakfast that took hours to have in total. read more

Over the past year, the dining experience has really improved for me. They are pretty quick about bringing out your order these days, and the food quality even tastes better. The drip coffee is pretty good. Every time I go, I always do a veggie omelette, add meat either to it or to the side (like bacon - so good), home fries, and a biscuit. It's my go to meal and it doesn't disappoint. The only thing I'd say is if you get a side of toast, it never really seems toasted and is usually cool when you get it. You could probably ask for a little more toasting, I don't know, i never have. I also usually get a side of salsa or the spicy hollandaise as well and now I'm craving this dish as I'm typing it! It is locally grown food. There's a sign in the wall that tells you where different items come from. The food has a great taste... wow. I had the busy bee skillet. I liked the sausage gravy. It was light and not heavy in your belly. The staff was great. I really like how the customers that came in greeted each other; they were all regulars. Best breakfast spot in the MOV. Kind of a local diner feel, but the food is always fresh and they source locally. Friendly staff and solid service. Favorites are the Busy Bee breakfast (eggs, toast, potatoes, bacon) and pancakes, which are as big as a plate. read more

Cute, very small, mom and pop diner serving breakfast and lunch but with an emphasis on local ingredients from local farmers. All meat, eggs and produce come from someone in the community. They also have a food truck and man vs. food challenges. We visited on Easter Sunday for a late breakfast as it was one of the only local establishments open. Our waitress was beyond friendly even with the unexpected full house. We ordered a stack of pancakes, bacon and eggs, and a pork bowl. The pancakes were huge and dense, served with real butter and Ohio maple syrup. The pork bowl was good and filling, but some pieces of the pulled pork were a little crispy for my preference. Great, quaint community restaurant. Stopped in for lunch, ordered the club sandwich on rye. The rye bread slices were a 1/2-inch think. The slices of (cooked) ham and turkey were just as thick. Bacon has plenty crunchie. Fries were ok. Did NOT care for the ketchup, which was a dark red and pretty tasteless. I will def. go back for breakfast. They serve Cedar Run Farm maple syrup, the best locally produced syrup in the MOV. Friendly waitress, small menu (which is a good indication of fresh food), and cozy atmosphere. read more

Breakfast review: Coffee- delicious and hot just the way I like it. Refills offered twice. Pecan pancake- delicious but not cooked all the way through leaving a creamy batter in the middle easily seen and tasted. Would have asked for another pancake but we weren't asked how our food was until the end of our meal. Lemon ricotta pancakes- my friend ate an order of two 4 inch pancakes and said they were tasty. We were supplied with delicious wv syrup to pair with our pancakes. This restaurant has a lot of potential but it seems when they are busy(every seat filled other than counter), they lack in ability to check on meals/attend to customers. In addition, if you order one large pancake I recommend first cutting into the middle to make sure it's cooked all the way through. Happy eating~ read more

Run, don't walk and get the lemon blueberry pancakes. They are otherworldly! I usually get the French Toast. My husband always gets the Gran Bee. I've never eaten anything at the Busy Bee that wasn't delicious. It can take awhile to get served, but remind yourself you are waiting for fresh, Whole Foods. This place was delicious. It's a very busy weekend with a festival happening in Harmar village. They were incredibly accommodating with our family who are vegan. They made a vegetable hash and prepared it on a separate stove away from other animals products. Short visit to Marietta and stopped in for breakfast based on recommendations from locals. Service was extremely friendly and timely. I ordered Western omelette and biscuit with gravy along with coffee. Omelette was mice and fluffy and nice amount of veggies and ham, really good! Biscuit and gravy was great... I asked for biscuit to be extra crispy and it was on point. Gravy had just the right amount of seasoning and sausage. Coffee was fresh and offered to-go cup, which is always a bonus. Great breakfast diner with farm fresh ingredients. The dining room is small and very limited waiting area so plan appropriately as this is a popular local place. I couldn't resist the Spicy Eggs Benedict with perfectly poached eggs and just enough kick. My wife had the Busy Bee Skillet, she raved about the sausage gravy so much so that I snuck a bite.
