So please imagine our disdain to be turned away on New Years Eve because we did not have a reservation.... We have frequented this restaurant for over 20 years.... This was our tradition... No reservation has ever, ever been required with exception of a 30 minute call ahead request. The hostess was so rude waving her reservation list in our face as though we were idiots. "We've been taking reservations for daaaays!" she barked. What a cruel joke. A party of five proved to be too much to handle at 5:10 pm. What a shame. I was so disappointed and sad that we had to spend our money elsewhere.

We both ordered schnitzels (he the Bavarian, I the Berlin) and we split the sides of red cabbage, sauerkraut, kaesespaezle and pan fried potatoes. The Berlin was crispy, well done, and topped with apples and onions that were a good addition for the flavor. The mushroom sauce on the Bavarian was also quite nice and full of flavor. I really enjoyed the sides and can recommend them all. To finish, we had the Nutella cheesecake, a generous slice that was of a smooth consistency and full of flavor. Overall, as can be guessed we were very happy to stop by. The food was very good, service prompt, drinks always filled, and portions plentiful. It was a highlight of our trip and I would definitely enjoy it again.
