The space was also nicely decorated, and there was a good amount of seating. It was pretty full though mid morning on a week day, so just be prepared. Again, pleasant, positive experience, just a touch underwhelmed.

If that isn't testimonial enough, Bruno's will always hold a special place in my heart. Also my friends get upset if they find out I went to Bruno's without them ("YOU WENT TO BRUNO's WITHOUT ME?!") Although a scenic drive to Bruno's, it is completely out of the way for me, but I wanted to try them. This cafe is small, and very busy. They have some seating options, but all the seats were taken. They did have some tables and chairs outside, and it was a pleasant day to sit outside. Their milk is sourced from Arethusa Farms, one of the best, if not THE BEST local dairy resources. Their menu is large with coffee, tea, refreshers, including pastries, breakfast and lunch options. On this trip we got coffees. I got Nova's Nutella Latte, the others got a mocha and Kiwi, Mint & Lemongrass refresher. These were all very pricey, I was a bit taken aback. Each drink was between $9.00 and $10.00. Maybe it's because of the locally sourced milk, I can't think of another reason. My Nutella Latte was very chocholatey and very tasty, but my cup was also filled with ice all the way to the top. The refresher was very sweet, but a unique combo of flavors and pretty refreshing. The mocha was solid. Overall, maybe I got the wrong things at Bruno's, but I can't say I was super impressed, especially at such a high cost.

We came on a Sunday around 10:30am and they were almost out of some of their pastries. Definitely go there earlier. But that just shows how fresh everything is! Firstly, all of the pastries looked delicious! It was so hard to just pick one so we needed up picking 3. Cheesy hotdog bread, kbbq short rib bread, and a cranberry cream cheese pastry. They were all SOOO GOOD! The bread is so soft and the flavors were delicious. They have lots of fun seasonal drinks, caffeinated and non-caffeinated. They also have boba! I got an ube banana latte and my friend got their seasonal Coquito latte which was recommended. Both were delicious (and very strong). The service was immaculate. I didn't catch the cashier's name but she was younger with brown hair. The sweetest person ever! Definitely made the experience more enjoyable. The owner, Chan also gifted us a piece of delicious oreo cake for fun! It was so yummy and not too sweet. I cannot recommend this place enough!

It is so colorful inside, but this isn't just about aesthetics, they offer quality Giv coffee and tasty eats. My friend and I each got a coffee from their specials menu. She got the Strawberry Fields Matcha and I got the Dulce de Leche Cold Brew. We also got a Liege Waffle. Additionally they have croissants and cookies. They also offer bowls, toasts and more. The teenage staff working here are super friendly, knowledgeable and ready to offer suggestions. On the walls they have very interesting artwork. The bottom half of their framed artwork is painted a single color, together with the frame. I have never seen this before. At first I thought they were trying to disguise something on the painting using tape, but it's actually paint. This is consistent among all of their paintings. Our coffees were very tasty, naturally very sweet, but very well crafted. The waffle was a bit too dry for my preference. After doing some other things in the area, we returned for lunch. We got Avocado Toast and a Sweet Potato Quesadilla. First, the portion size of the quesadilla was plenty big for us two. This was a tortilla filled with sweet potatoes, mozzarella, spinach and cheddar. It was very thin and very warm and melty. I've never had sweet potato in a quesadilla before, this whole combo had me licking my fingers. The Avocado Toast was another winner. On sourdough bread, beet hummus, with fresh avocado, topped with everything bagel seasoning. Very colorful, fresh and filling. We had a lovely coffee and lunch today at the Eatery of Berlin x Giv. I will for sure be back.

On the sandwich side, I've had an Eatery BEC and a Chipotle Roast Beef Melt. Both on fresh ciabatta. I believe The Eatery uses "Bread and Chocolate" Ciabatta out of Hamden. The ingredients of the sandwiches were high quality, and the sandwiches are reasonably priced. Also, if you like sweet and sour pickles, The Eatery House Pickles are amazing. I've had 3 Black Cold Brews now. With the Giv beans, the coffee was top notch. Service was friendly. I'm a big fan of the Eatery owners. They set a great tone for the vibe of a cafe. The Bagel shop is in a newer developed space along Route 4 (aka busy Farmington Avenue). The odd thing I couldn't get through my head was how the site was designed. The back of the shops face out to Farmington Ave and the store fronts and parking are in the rear? Usually it's the other way around. Terrible advertising for the businesses. Just the same, I managed to stop, ordered two Everything bagels with White Fish spread and a large dark roast coffee. I was met with "...white what...". I repeated and added, "...its Jewish thing, which is delicious on a bagel. " Sorry we don't have that." Hmmm . Well I'll have a thin smear of creamed cheese, which they had plenty, on my two toasted Everything bagels. I prepped my coffee and in a flash the bagels were packaged and bagged. I was given a "have a nice day". Get in my car, unwrapped the First bagel, ahh an Everything. Later the second was unwrapped back a my home office and a Toasted Sesame Seed jumped out at me. No offense Sesame lovers, I was hugely disappointed my simple order got twisted. And to top off my dissatisfaction NO WHITE FISH SPREAD!

Everything but baguettes, not bad but generic, pricy…read more Missus was hankering for a cake, and we noticed this new shop right next to her preferred cake place. Being adventurous, we took a detour and decided to give them a try. Inside is a large dining space and a slew of bakery counters. All filled with all manner of baked goods. Pastries, donuts, cakes, and muffins all littered the space in plexiglass containers. You get a set of tongs, get a box and pick your desserts. We get a smattering of bakery items. We also get a couple of drinks to give them a try as well. The servers were nice and accommodating. We took our bites home to give them a try over the weekend. The immediate bites, okay but more pretty than flavorful. Like an Italian bakery, they have very tasty looking items but no substance. The ube iced latte I got was weirdly thick and gritty, and the missus's Arnold Palmer was too tart. The mochi donuts were a little older and a little greasy on the pallet. So they were not as soft but still tasted good. The sturdier bakery items fared better over the next couple of days. Their croissant cookie was my best bite, 3 mini croissants welded together with two chocolate chip cookies. It was tasty. The stuffed croissant had a cocoa powder finish on the chocolate coating and was a bit tough to eat when I got to it. The missus enjoyed the mini cheese croissants, and the rest were not memorable. There was a spot for baguettes, but it was a singular basket away from the registers which was empty. A shame too, was hoping to try a baguette from the baguette place. For 65 bucks, the price is up there for the quality provided. It's very impressive looking desserts, but it just doesn't deliver on flavor. If pictures for the 'gram matter more than substance then this place will work wonderfully though
