This is a nice little store with plenty of snacks, fruit, meals that is easily found in each isle . The owner has another store in Middletown, CT. The employees are friendly and helped me find all my favorite things which is Ube anything ,lol. I love the way it tastes and it's readily available in these stores . The fruit looks fresh and they have freezer meals as well . Icecream is very tasty I tried a few brands and flavors from here. Ube remains my favorite icecream hands down. Today I got a Ube cream to make myself some icecream in my machine when I get a chance to . Can't wait to try it out instead of regular cream. Then I had to buy their Ube oatmeal cup and the cookie sticks . The cookie sticks tasted like the vanilla wafer crackers light yet a hint of sweet .

So, I've been living in CT for a while already. Coming from a Filipino family that lives out in California and living here. I started to crave more and more of my moms cooking. For breakfast lunch and dinner we always had a Filipino hot meal. There was also a lot of Filipino stores in california that we would go and get snacks and desserts. So, I started to crave that more than ever. Especially when I face time my family back in california during the holidays and there you see a Filipino feast. When Filipinos cook. They cook like we are having a party. My husband found this place for me. OMG! He thought I was going to buy the whole store. They also have another store in the the same building that serves hot food. So back to the actual store that sells grocery food. They had so many desserts from ube Spanish bread to regular Spanish bread. Coconut bread which is my favorite. To ice creams. Macapuno and ube. So much more. My husband thought I was going to buy the whole store. Lol. I did see that they sold suman which is sticky rice in banana leaves that is steamed and you eat it with sugar on top. So good. Majority of the stuff I did get was put straight into the freezer.if your looking to make some Filipino food o suggest come here. Because you mostly will find what your looking for. Now, after the store I went to the restaurant part. I bought some pancit, lumpia, halo halo, turon and siopao. The lumpia was ok. I guess because when we did eat it it wasn't crunchy. The turon was ok too. The way my mom made it is different. We didn't have the sugar on the outside of it. But, it was still good. The siopao I got both pork and chicken. I didn't eat the chicken. My daughter did. Her chicken siopao was filled with a decent amount of chicken in it. Im not much of a chicken siopao fan. The pork was off the hook. The inside was flavorful and the siopao bread had a good amount of sweetness to it and was soft. Now for the halo halo. It was good. But, could of added the red beans to it. That was all I had to say to that. I did like how they added ube ice cream and le he flan on top. I definitely will come back to get some hot food again. Hopefully the next time I do go back they have some kare kare. I would make it at home. But, my husband doesn't like peanut butter in his hot food unless it's peanut butter and jelly.

Married to a Filipino wife and having been stationed in Virginia and introduced to The amazing Filipino culture, I'm excited that this place not only offers ingredients, snacks and other great stuff but now they offer Hot Meals :)) this place makes me happy whenever I visit :))

Growing up with a Filipino mother we always had the pleasure of trying and eating many dishes and desserts from the culture. We were so excited to find this place minutes from us and frequent it often. The Halo Halo and other desserts/drinks/food are all pretty good on the restaurant side. The grocery side is filled with so many items local to the Philippines and if you need something, you'll be able to find it there!

    Filipino food!

If you wish to break out of your day to day monotony of bland "lunch combo" type meals, this is the perfect place to try something that you regularly can't get in many small towns. As a Filipino, the dishes brought me back to Manila and having an American wife, she would also give this gem 5 stars for providing flavors that are comforting but out of this world. Please do yourself a favor and try this place out, don't be afraid to go out of your comfort zones and ask questions if you need! Your tastebuds will thank you for it! I wish this eatery nothing but the best success and support local business y'all!

My bags of basmati rice, Indian snacks, amazing array of seasoning blends or singular spices (the real meal-makers), the excellent array of prepared frozen foods and, of course, the wonderful produce section . . . I could shop here every day. Naan bread with garlic pickle. I am addicted to garlic pickle. Yep. I love this place, and it's riight here in Cromwell. (Tahini! Add tahini to everything. Tahini mixed with honey and spread over oven-toasted naan . . . Heavenly.) I wish I could remember the manager's name, for which I apologize, as he is such a nice, friendly gentlman who, even when obviously very busy, makes time to answer questions, and point in the right direction, even offering menu ideas. The rest of the staff is also very helpful. It is a wonderful LOCAL store, and I am both glad and proud that they chose Cromwell. Thank yoo.

That being said, we decided to check out Asia Grocers today, in Cromwell. Asia Grocers is set back from the road, in a large building with plenty of parking. The store is brightly lit with large amply spaced aisles. The entire left and back walls are lined with freezer and refrigerator cases. The first aisle is produce, some standard veggies and fruit, but mostly things that you wouldn't find in your common store. The rest of the aisles are filled with boxed and packaged foods and items sold in bulk. There is a also a small selection of cooking appliances. The first case that we looked into had numerous brands and flavors of Naan and the likes. Continuing down this aisle we found frozen prepared foods, meal starters, vegetables, ice cream & more. In the refrigerated section I found pocketless pitas (one of my favs), ginormous containers of yogurt, different kinds of cheeses, tofu and desserts. While we were just browsing on this visit, I will definitely be coming back. The prices were decent, the aisles were clean and the selection was great.
