I've been coming here for years, and unfortunately the food and service seem to get worse every time I visit. My most recent experience was through the drive-thru, and it was beyond disappointing. I specifically asked for fresh rolls, but they arrived cold, dark, and looked like they had been sitting out for quite a while. The chicken was cold as well. I also asked for extra Serendipity seasoning of both types and only received three total. The service was even worse. The employee taking our order repeatedly forgot items we had already ordered and kept reminding him what was missing. We had to send him back multiple times with our card because he again couldn't seem to remember what we asked for. Each time, it felt like we were being treated as an inconvenience rather than customers. To make matters worse, other employees were giving us dirty looks because he kept having to come back to the window, despite the fact that the mistakes were not ours. I'd also recommend checking your order before you leave. I've been charged for items I never received on multiple visits now, and it's gotten to the point where I almost expect something to be missing every time I come here. I understand everyone has bad days, but if you don't like your job, don't take it out on your customers. We were polite the entire time and fully intended to leave a good tip, but the attitude and poor service completely ruined the experience. After years of being a customer, the decline in food quality, accuracy, and especially customer service has become impossible to ignore. read more

Counter staff arguing in front of customers. Buffalo fries listed as available in regular & large size. I told counter staff I wanted regular size. Counter staff automatically charged for large size without informing me that they do not have a container. Talked to Bonnie & was told they had a meeting with owner about getting regular size containers. In essence, I was told it is the owner's fault. Fried okra tasted like it had been sitting for hours! I arrived at the restaurant just before 8pm on Friday, parked and tried the door. It was locked but the restaurant was open and I could see the employees inside. This was July 2025 not July 2020 so I didn't care for the blast from the past. I drove around the building where there is no speaker but 3 lanes instead, where the employees walk out with iPads. On the big menu on the side of the building it lists 4 tenders with a roll and gravy and an offer to try buttermilk dipping sauce. When I ordered that exact item I was immediately told I would not get gravy because it only came with the tenders dinner. What the menu offers did not match his words. And he also advised they no longer offer buttermilk dipping sauce. I had somewhere to be and no familiarity with the area as I had just driven from Fort Worth so I bought the overpriced tenders and was charged 59 cents for my packet of honey mustard sauce. I do not recommend unless you are super hungry with no other options. I did see a Dairy Queen though. read more

Pulled into the drive thru one car in front of me and one car in second lane they were both given there food, while the server then proceeded to take orders behind me. So another server came from inside and asked if I'd been helped. All of this wouldn't have been a problem had they not ran out of chicken by the time I ordered! The girl was very apologetic not blaming her, but why would the male server go to other cars behind me first. Would they have had what I was ordering had he gone in order in the drive thru who knows and as I will not be going back there I feel like it really doesn't matter now. This was at 3:30 pm so you would think they would have more chicken ready for the rush after school. Sadly bush's does have good food but this location needs to make sure they have enough food cooked! read more

I ordered two 4 tender meals and 12 gizzard meal. Payed almost $40 what I got was some over cooked gizzards like chewing rubber with very soggy fries. My tender meals only had two tenders each that looked as small as chicken nuggets. No gravy in the meals. I tried calling several times and the phone kept going to an answering service. 'Ello chaps! There are two things to get in Texas. BBQ and fried chicken. Bush's Chicken is by far the best. Why? Not just the fried chicken, well seasoned and delicious, but each one is served up with white gravy and whatever sides you want. Fare includes fried chicken, fried okra, fries, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, yeast rolls and macaroni and cheese. Bush's Chicken also purveys sweet and unsweet iced tea by the gallon jug. I have yet to find a Bush's Fried Chicken I don't like. read more

Oh, Bush's chicken. How I love you. I stopped in to Bush's while passing through Waco, after not having it for about three years. I picked up a tender snack pack, which is usually just enough to fill me up, and a Dr. Pepper. Service was courteous and fast as usual. But oh, the food... those crispy, juicy chicken tenders and perfect fries... dipped in some white gravy with a fluffy yeast roll... It's like the ultimate comfort food. You can also get spicy Serendipity salt on request for your fries, to give them an extra little kick, but it doesn't even really need it. If they opened a location in Houston, I wouldn't be able to stay away. Thanks for the delicious memories. read more

When some one finally came out they ignored me and went to a truck that just pulled judging by the persons reaction to them it was some she knew. 8/11/2013 - After leaving KFC on Loop 340 and 35 angry, I stopped here on my way to Houston. I can't remember the young man's name that helped me, young, African-American boy, whom ended up telling me that he had just started after I complimented him.. But he was great! I have to say to my disappointment the store was closed but it looked like they were cleaning and not mention, it was late at night. But the young man came out and took my order. Made some recommendations and delivered some tasty chicken, rolls, fries and okra. I think I even had a Dr. Pepper. Because of my experiences this night, before I left I asked for the manager and fed her compliments on quality and service. It was my first Bush's Chicken experience... This spot STOLE my money, gave me the run around and never gave it back. I received an alert on my phone At 10:30 pm stating my card was charged again after going two days prior. We had a great experience at Bush's! Customer service was good and the food was delicious. First time to Bush's but won't be the last.

I cant imagine fried chicken being better. The pieces were large and fresh. The rolls was way better than those from most fried chicken places. Tasted fresh and sweet. The tea was good as was the cole slaw. Service was quick and there was hot suace in a squeeze bottle on every table. No complaints. read more

Really wish that this facility would wear gloves while handling food. I've seen workers use their hands and grab frozen stuff out of bags and put them in the fryer and I've seen where another workers hands touched the gravy in the pot while putting it in the cups to go and it got on their hand and wrist. Just seems a little unsanitary in my mind. Also I hate when we order the tender Tuesday and when I ask for spicey and regular serendipity packets they only give like 2-3 of them same with ketchup... Oh my gosh! I stopped here on my way to McGregor. I ate chicken livers, okra, and had a Dr. Pepper. Those were the best chicken livers I have ever eaten. Fantastic. The man serving it was very cheerful. I got my order within a minute of placing it. (I tried two subsequent Bush's Chicken restaurants - one in Waco (Valley Mills Dr.) and one in McGregor - and neither was as good. The one in McGregor was okay; the one in Waco was the worst ever. First, I was double charged and payed $20 for my meal which was $9.50. A computer glitch on their end claiming I never paid for it, so the manager refused to give me my food even though it showed on my account. Secondly, when I explained I would complain to store manager, found out it was the store manager! I will never go back to any Buschs. I have emailed the cooperate offices as well. Not to mention, the parking lot to this place has potholes my car could fit into! Not worth it all around. read more
