This has been a really unfortunate experience. Last fall, I contracted with Greenlawn to build a patio, plant new grass, and install ground cover around a tree in a new enclosure they also built. They were able to do almost all of the work in the Fall, and we couldn't have been happier with the results. They noted they'd need to come out in the spring to install the ground cover, as it wouldn't survive being planted in the cold. As spring sprung, Greenlawn did not contact me. I reached out on April 2 and began a ridiculous game of back and forth until they "completed" the work on May 25. At one point, I was told they were "extremely busy" right now. Considering I paid for this work last Fall, this isn't exactly my problem. The completed work was terrible and it was suggested that "[my] expectation of filling in the entire bed was not realistic." It was not my expectation! The whole project was designed by Greenlawn! I've had to finish the work myself so that the beautiful yard isn't ruined by a terrible finish to this project. Doug seems like a great design consultant and clearly knows his stuff. We couldn't be happier with the brick work and our new lawn, but the absurdly bad service and work to complete the project has left an incredibly bad impression. I wish I could recommend working with this company, but I definitely cannot. read more

I was interested in a quote for seeding and sodding, along with spring clean up, mulch, tilling the garden bed, removing a couple of shrubs and regular maintenance. Several days later, I followed up with a text message. Two weeks later, I attempted a phone call. He didn't pick up. Voicemail left. Seems obvious to me that he's not interested. Just all-around terrible customer service. Prior to installation of a $3K job, didn't even bother calling Julie to make sure they weren't going to sever lines (which they did) and, of course, they find a nice contorting way to get out of paying. The plants they put in were sad, sad, sad--like the leftovers from some back-of-the-yard nursery; I found nicer stuff at Gethsemane at the same time, so why? I specifically say in design that I want NO daylilies and they plant daylilies but under the Latin name... grrr! Fruit tree is diseased because of its waterlogged location (which they couldn't tell when they were doing a French drain for the property?) and, of course, they don't cover the warranty. Lawn service is good, but $5 more a month. Some months you'll not get a bill and then a scolding email that your invoice is overdue. I really did love their spring clean up and fall clean ups. They did an awesome job at that. They just don't seem to have their stuff together and if they can get out of doing any customer service, they will. I've decided that their service is just stinkeroonies so I'd go with someone else since they're not the only game in town. read more

This company has been in business and sold several times over the last 30 years. I have been with them all of them. If you are not interested in the complete lawn package, do not waste your time. I question if I got all the services I contracted for and in 2 years time, I lost my entire front lawn. I had their lawn maintenance manager, Kord, to the property to assess the issue. He advised he did not know. I inquired if it needed new sod. When he heard I wasn't a complete package customer, he was no longer interested and didn't jump on the chance to quote new sod installation. Found a new company willing to work with me this year. I discovered the root of the problem and now have a freshly sodded green lawn and direction to correct the previous issue. I want to thank you for not offering to renew the contract this year. It made it much easier to get over my loyalty issues and move on. read more

Overall communicative, good service and value. Very efficient getting the work done and we've subscribed to their lawn care service to keep what's been planted in great condition going forward and we'll see how that care is done. We had a poorly maintained lawn and weeds everywhere. They completely redid the lawn and parkway and added bushes to revive the look. Quoting was easy but we weren't mindful to look or understand the quote closely that parkway is different from lawn so it was two visits for the job. Crew was friendly and courteous and the owner (Dee) was informative and available. Recommendations and thing to know - it's not an e-commerce business, traditional check if you're not a Chase customer, that delays project expectations and it's a hurry and wait situation. To be honest, we've been fairly happy with this landscaping service. We've been with them for years. Unfortunately, I write this with a real bit of sadness, and probably a bit of wroth too. In our yard for about four years we've had a tree peony. It was a transplant from the home I grew up in. A home that literally was torn down and doesn't exist anymore. This was a small tree peony but was still rocking along for 20+ years. Tree peony are persnickety things though. They don't like being transplanted and will raise a fuss for a few years when you do. Last year, we saw a few flowers for the first time in our yard but no real growth. So this was the year! It's gonna grow! We're gonna see great big dish sized flowers! Nope. They literally mowed it down with a lawn mower. It stood about 2.5ft high at one point, not easily missed. And wasn't missed for years by this lawn service. It's also not herbaceous. It's called a tree peony because it has a woody core that grows slowly. Ours had a "trunk" of 2-3in thick with a few others in the 1-2in thick range. So you can imagine what it feels like to see something like this. The cut down trunk and branches were left unceremoniously broken and scattered. The leaves on the limbs torn from and mangled by a blade. If it were any old tree peony, meh. But this one was personal. It makes me sad. We've contacted them and are waiting for a response. I'm really sad though. Stuff like this, it's not gonna fix itself with a "credit" or a "replacement" you know? read more

Dee and her crew did a great job of creating a garden oasis for us! They had to remove really bad dirt and weeds to start and then created berms, plantings, paver paths and even a dry creek bed! They called us back and responded to emails in a very timely manner. They were very professional and easy to work with. They were flexible and helpful when we wanted changes. They provided care instructions and a guarantee for their work. Reasonably priced and definitely comparable to others. We would definitely recommend them! read more

Beware! Don't make the same mistake we made! Greenlawn landscaping is the WORST landscaping company we've ever had and they nickel and dime you to death. They charged us $25 a week to cut the grass and that's all you get. That does not include edging or trimming of beds. Edging & trimming is an extra $30 a man hour. Want a weed pulled? Sorry, that's not included either so you better pull them yourself. Weed pulling is an extra $30 a man hour. And there's more...you know that fall & spring clean up where they quoted you $250 in the contract? Surprise! That doesn't include "Debris Disposal" -- $7 dollars per can to haul away your leaves. In the month of October they charged us an extra $70 for hauling 10 cans of debris away and that doesn't include the debris disposal charges we received in November. And their "Bee Safe" Organic fertilizer is a JOKE. It should be called "Weed Safe" because it did nothing. Our yard has never looked more unkept and full of weeds in the 10 years we've lived in our house. But worst of all is how they treated us as customers. Horrible. The concept of "customer service" is foreign to them. Stay away from these guys - you're better off flushing your money down the toilet. read more

We had a water need for our beds to be dug out, but Doug made some amazing suggestions for landscaping that we went all the way. They were out with us right after we called, made a great design base don cost, what would go well with the house, etc... and executed it in a day! Amazing from start to finish. I would highly recommend Dee and the team at Greenlawn. I contacted them last fall and put together a plan for the spring. Dee was very responsive to my questions before, during and after the work was done. They were flexible working around my concrete repairs and we worked together to get everything done around Mother nature's schedule ! I contacted a few different companies to find one to transform our boring little city yard into a native grasses and flowers garden. Dee responded quickly, visited and created a beautiful plan. Her thoughtful design took our ideas and made them into a garden that changes with each season, offered various colors, forms, and is a haven for pollinators. Greenlawn landscaping is the worst landscaping company we have ever had. They do not accomplish anything that is written in their contract. They are a blow and go service, meaning they do not pull weeds, spray for bugs, pick up or plant anything in your yard. You have to call in and it is scheduled for an extra sum. Green lawn landscaping is by far the worst company ever. i'm so regretting choosing this company they don't clean the sidewalk, or remove weed. pretty much what they do i can do by myself and won't take 5 minutes. I was out of town for 2 month and when i came back i found a branch of a tree fell in my backyard and my neighbors told me that it's been there forever, they didn't even remove it till i told them so. if you don't want to waste your money, stay away from this company. read more

This was odd. After making contact I heard from them immediately and quickly got a quote. I was required to pay half of the quote to get on the schedule, $750 check. Drove check over within a day. That's when things got bizarre. NEVER HEARD ANYTHING. Queried about when I would be on schedule. DID NOT HEAR BACK. Finally, heard I was scheduled for 2 MONTHS later. It took 2 weeks to get this date. Literally. 2 weeks to find out sod was going to be installed 2 months later in JULY. We moved it to Sept. DID NOT HEAR FROM THEM. Went home Friday night, occurred to me to call about Monday install; it had been moved to Wed. HAD NOT HEARD FROM THEM. They did show up on Wed. I NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN after promising advice on how to care for the lawn. I DID PROMPTLY RECEIVE AN INVOICE FOR THE OTHER HALF. 2 weeks later and the product does seem great and they were thorough during installation.
