Everything fine. Maybe 5-stars, but I like to reserve that for "above and beyond." Matt arrived on short notice on a Saturday to replace a leaky toilet supply valve. Friendly, professional, etc. 15 minutes of work time, plus 15 minutes of quote/payment, etc. I'm a do-it-yourselfer, and he was happy to explain some things that might help me handle it myself next time. Very open and helpful. Candid about a practical compromise he made in positioning the compression ring. His replacement angle valve seems nicer than what was available at Home Depot. Price: $141 after $35 discount for hesitating at the initial quote. He couldn't break it down, but I'd say $11 parts, $130 labor, Reasonable, I guess, after all the truck time, overheads, insurance. read more

If you are tired of contractors that cannot do the work, or do a lousy job, do yourself a huge favor and call Burtech Plumbing! That's what we did after I went under the house to check an electrical problem. I found the soil all around the 4" main drain was soaked. We had a "contractor" (not going to name them though I should) do a bathroom remodel about a year ago and they obviously messed up big time. I called Burtech Plumbing. A Technician named Elijah arrived at our home. He suited up and got right to work to investigate the water leak. In a very short time Elijah was back out from under the house. He explained the the previous contractor had used the incorrect pipe coupling which allowed the 4" main line to separate. Elijah made a first class repair on this and a couple other sections of adjoining 2" pipe. He showed me photos of all his work. This, all for an extremly reasonable price. I had a backup in my master bathroom for the second time in less than a year. Because there was no accessable cleanout, the last time a plumber came they had to remove the toilet to run the cleanout cable. This time I decided rather than spend alot of money to do the same I'd get estimates for installing a cleanout to the exterior of the house. I had 4 plumbing companies come out and evaluate and give an estimate. Of the 4, Burtech had the best price, but even more importantly, they evaluated my entire drain system. I had them do the install of a new cleanout and they even ran a video cable to inspect the line. It was evident from the video which I watched along with the supervisor, Bill, who explained what we were seeing, that my drains had a lot of crud built up. When we got from the ABS line (black pipe) to the old cast iron drain line under the house and all the way to the old clay piping to the street, it was evident how much buildup in the lines had developed over the decades in the ABS and even more in the cast iron. So, the technicians Jose and Gino installed the new cleanout and I asked Bill to work up an estimate to remove the cast iron and replace with 4" ABS. Bill was adamant for me to not do a jetting of the lines because it could cause leaks in the 75 year old cast iron, and to wait until the cast iron was replaced to jet the lines to get rid of as much of the crud buildup as possible. I really appreciated the advice and the thorough explanations he provided. Good pricing, fine work, and honest explanations. While I'll get several estimates again on the next job too, I am impressed with Burtech's work and approach to projects. I'll recommend them to my friends and family. read more

Great service - came out on time for install and decided on what was needed. When I looked closer at the bill there were some charges that were a bit price gouging for my liking - drip pan was charged at ~$200, these can be had for 40-50 at most, didn't expect that much of a markup. I offered to go get the materials but said they didn't offer it as an option. There were other parts too but again, I just wanted it done so we agreed on a number that worked. I know times are tough but for things that aren't costly - shouldn't be marked up that much. read more

Gino came back again because we noticed that there was still some leaking under the kitchen sink. It ended up being an issue he mentioned in his previous visit where we needed to make sure the opening to a dishwasher thing was tight. And he mentioned that leaks could occur through the garbage disposal button and we would not be able to tighten that part. The underside of that button was rusty and getting worn. So I was able to schedule an appt with him for the garbage disposal button, and was not charged for today's visit. Usually, when I call a plumber, I expect the plumber's crack of despair - "Well, it looks like you need another abduction valve and corona bladder if you ever hope to secure the flushing swirl to remain clockwise." I would always pay as I remembered my horrible attempt 10 years ago to DIY my garbage disposal. Burtech is different from my past experiences. First off, their response on Yelp is awesome. When I launched my initial request, only two services replied, and Burtech was the only one that replied with a useful response. Second, the technician who came to my house was awesome. His name is Mike and he was great. He kept things safe by wearing a mask and booties, I appreciated this courtesy. He was very helpful in 'showing' not just 'explaining' the service that I needed. And, there was no hard-sell or up-sell to deal with. I really appreciate that Jaime did the job the right way. He could've left previous patches in place and just replace the part that was leaking but instead he removed all shoddy patches and replaced everything so that there is now one continuous new pipe. Toilet was plugged for a month. Didn't feel like dealing. The guy showed up, I explained I already had a really good snake but couldn't reach that clog. He said he "might have a secret." He came in and BANG! Fixed it in 15 seconds. He ran it a couple more times just to be certain. He then told me I can do it myself next time which is something you never hear. He taught me two methods with the snake I got and I may not have to call him anymore. I will definitely advise calling him. Not sure of that negative review. Dude was cool as heck. I thought for sure it was going to be a 30 minute sit around pow wow session but he was in and out. I developed a written scope of work for two large cast iron drain projects and solicited 12 quotes from 4.5-5.0 star plumbing contractors. I received 9 written quotes ranging from $32K to $14K. After few scope of work changes and revised quotes I selected Burtech Plumbing because of their low overall price, scope of work determination, high yelp review rating and BBB rating. I am happy to say that we were pleased with their performance. Both projects were done one at a time on back to back weeks. The team of Fabian and Arnold worked effectively together and had a great plan. They also cleaned up after themselves each day to minimize their impact to our home. One project had us jack hammering the slab in a closet behind our guest bathroom to access the old cast iron piping in order to replace the 2 inch sink and shower connections and a section of the 3 inch drain line from the guest toilet. Then we installed a liner for the rest of the the 3 inch piping so that we didn't have to jack hammer the entire run under the slab. The second project had us rerouting a 2 inch line from the kitchen down the side of the house and across the driveway so that we didn't have to jack hammer the 2 inch kitchen line going to the main drain under the slab foundation. Both of these plans had the least amount of intrusion into our current foundation but effectively either replaced or repaired our 64 year old cast iron drain system. I highly recommend you call Bill Schramm to at least get his perspective and a quote for comparison. You wont be disappointed. Curt read more
