Appetizer Dolmas grape leaves stuffed with herbed rice with cucumber yogurt sauce and citrus chicken was surprisingly delicious as well with arugula parsley aioli, mixed greens, tomatoes and pickles were yummy! Me and a girlfriend decided to get some lunch on our day off. We got there at 11:30 on a Friday. And doors open at 11. We were seated pretty quickly. They have a lunch and wine menu. For the lunch menu they have appetizers, wraps, salads, soup and rice plates. They are located in the west portal area which has rough parking. I would honestly recommend caching the public transit or Uber or lyft. We both choose the wrapp with lamb and beef mix. We wanted the French fries but was told sold out. So we were left with the arugula salad. The salad was nice and fresh but was not a fan. As I done personally like arugula. The wrap it self was filling. But I felt it was lacking seasoning. I've heard so much about this place and i finally got to try it this recently. We got a table inside b/c it' was pretty packed outside. They were pretty busy so we had more than enough time to study the menu. We ended up sharing the dolma (grape leaves stuffed with herbal rice) which went well with their yogurt sauce. My friend and i got the lamb kebab and my other friend go the eggplant wrap. All three of us cleared our plates, i loved how the lamb was tender and easy to remove from the skewer. The rice was so good, I'm not sure what type of rice it was but it was a very aromatic rice and packed with flavors. As for the Turkish coffee they ask what kind of sweetness you want to that and i got mine medium which was still very bitter. Next time i'll get it slightly sweeter. It was my first time getting Turkish coffee and it's more on the grindier side. It's strong but not my cup of tea. As for desserts we got the Hazelnut Chocolate. Last night I revisited Bursa after several years and I ordered the Feta Prawns again because I remember it as a very delicious dish, and it was! The prawns cooked perfectly in a lemony sauce with a generous amount of crumbled feta cheese. The only thing different is more sprinkling of sumac which I like. Along with a bowl of red lentil soup and pita bread, this becomes an excellent meal for solo diner. I did save room for dessert and tried Kunefe, a sweet cheese and phyllo "cake" with honey syrup. It was a huge piece and definitely shareable. Service is super friendly and efficient. All my dishes came to my table piping hot. The decor is something else. The wall colors in deep blue, paintings on the walls, multiple chandeliers, and the banquette upholstery in rich tones do transport one to somewhere else, like Bursa Turkey! We've been eating here for years, it's 5 blocks away. They seem to have replaced their salmon with halibut, which I haven't tried, but the salmon was always perfectly cooked and delicious. The rice itself is terrific, and I'm usually pretty "meh" about rice. Good selection of Greek and Turkish beers. I highly recommend the appetizer sampler that has a little bit of everything with flat bread. The hummus and falafel are especially good. 10/10 I ordered the Lebanese Pilsner beer that was more like a lager or wheat beer. I didn't like it very much but it's just a note and not part of the ratings. 3/10 The Adana kebab wrap had tasty ground lamb with spices, onion, yogurt and a little heat. 8/10 The salad with grilled chicken was good especially the meat. 7/10. Poor customer service. We basically walked in, were seated, given menus and couldn't find the wraps anywhere. Saw the server brings out two wraps to the two guys dining in and asked about that. This guy says something along the lines of lunch service ends 4pm no exceptions and they can't offer wraps anymore. It was not even 4:10pm at this point. Okay then bye! Maybe you should mention that and make it known to your customers before disappointing them. Never coming here again and won't recommend them either. Our group of two couples had a great double date night at Bursa. The ambiance is one of a neighborhood staple with mixed groups all enjoying a nice evening. This was our first time and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and presentation of the food. For appetizers, we enjoyed the mezze platter (all of the salads/dips were delicious), falafel and dolmas. For entrees, the rack of lamb was the standout dish -- excellent quality meat and cooked perfectly, paired with delicious rice. Two of us got the "moussaka," which I have to say was not at all what I would consider a moussaka, though it was still good. It had no meat and came in a giant bowl topped with tomato sauce. For dessert we all split the kunefe and chocolate cake that were both tasty and hit the spot. The service was good throughout and we always had what we needed. Thanks to Yelp reviews I found this wonderful spot to eat in West Portal. We had just finished a hike nearby and were famished. I'm a vegetarian so it can make it challenging to find a place that suits a group. This place hit the spot! My friends each had a wrap- one a falafel wrap and the other a salmon one- they each devoured theirs. A very nice salad accompanied their dish. I had the falafel plate which was outstanding- probably the best falafels I've had. They were crispy on the outside and inside was tender and filled with feta. The service was very good and prompt. This place is highly recommended! Everytime I go here it's always a great experience from the food to the staff who are very nice, courteous, and professional. The vibe inside is chill, and with some tasty appetizers like falafel and feta prawns accompanied by a glass of wine and some smooth background music you're good to go. The rack of lamb is my go-to but next time I gotta try the garlic salmon which sounded very good. The zatar pistachio rice is extra fire! The baklava is some of the best I've had, if not the best! I loved our experience here! We popped in for lunch after visiting some friends nearby, almost as an afterthought. The environment struck a nice balance of cute and upscale, and within moments of sitting down, we began talking about when we would come back. We began with appetizers, cigars and some hummus. The cigars were filled with spinach (expected) but with goat cheese rather than feta, which gave it a softer and sweeter flavor than we expected - this is not spanakopita as expected and was lovely. The hummus was also unique, with a somewhat smokier flavor than we expected, and served with ample pieces of flattened pita (rather than veggies, for which I have no use with hummus). For our meals, my gf ordered the kofte kabab and I ordered the beyti. As soon as our food arrived, we realized that 1) we did not need two entrees, and 2) I would be having leftovers for breakfast. The kababs were excellent, perfectly cooked and seasoned (and obviously well portioned) and went well with hummus (as if anything doesn't go well with hummus). My beyti was also good. Although it had the same meat as the kabab (which our waiter confirmed was what we wanted - and we did), the general flavor and overall presentation was different - and a little more artistic.
