Nothing bothers me more than when I eat a taco that would be great OTHERWISE, but the tacos are so greasy that I instantely regret ingesting them. 2) The tacos are uber-flavorful. So SO SO (too) many 'Mexican' restaurants use only 1/3 the salt and nothing else (NO CUMIN, GARLIC POWDER/SALT, LAWRY'S, PEPPER, CHILI POWDER!? WTF), so I end up completely unsatisfied. However, with Alejandro's they have the parallel of my grandma back there in the kitchen with a huge leaf blower of spices just 'spraying and praying' everywhere. DELICIOUS! Everything else: the salsa that you get with the chips is great; it would be fantastic if it was more spicy, but there are a lot of weak white people around here, so who can really be that upset? The chips were okay, Tia Heleta's are the gold standard in my book (my book is bigger than your book in regards to chip-deliciousness btw). Ok, go here and eat.

This is not just one instance. We've had this happen several times, and hear the same complaint from other people. We still come here, but often choose the Fenton rd location instead - to avoid the abuse from the Swartz creek staff. And there was one time where they really out did themselves when our waitress came over to let us know that we were the last customer and that they wanted to go home. The beef is finely chopped, which I like, though it could use a bit more seasoning. The shell lands between medium and hard, with just enough give for a slight chew. Portions are generous and prices are not the cheapest in the area. $60 + tip or two to get three tackles with rice and beans a pop chips and rice and a side of stew beef. The stew beef was incredibly tender, with small chunks of potato. The gravy leaned more toward a thin broth and could have used a little more salt, but the flavor was still comforting. Seating is limited, so expect a short wait during busy times, and the parking lot can be tricky to navigate. Still, it's worth it. Service is always fast and friendly, clearly built for a big lunch crowd. You can see the kitchen staff cooking, which adds a welcoming, family-style feel. There's also a bar area where you can wait for a to-go order. It may be a little off the beaten path, but whenever I'm on that side of town, it's always a stop for me.

Of course, the gold standard for me for this sandwich is the Bennigan's version. Is it really the best?
