So perhaps palm oil? it's cheap and leaves a bitter taste! The burrito was good and a sizable portion, but it too had the stale taste. I ordered the fried ice cream desert, which I thought would be fried ice cream. It was a scoop of ice cream with a cinnamon-sugar dump and in the tortilla bowl that again tasted foul. For 8 bucks you'd think it'd be authentic glad I said I did not want the chocolate sauce or whipped cream. I wish management read this review and do something about the food quality. This is an honest review and not meant to criticize, but highlight the fact that where food is involved restaurants must provide a degree of quality, especially if they claim to be authentic. The stew beef was incredibly tender, with small chunks of potato. The gravy leaned more toward a thin broth and could have used a little more salt, but the flavor was still comforting. Seating is limited, so expect a short wait during busy times, and the parking lot can be tricky to navigate. Still, it's worth it. Service is always fast and friendly, clearly built for a big lunch crowd. You can see the kitchen staff cooking, which adds a welcoming, family-style feel. They also sell my husband's favorite line of seltzer water, which he can't find anywhere else around town, so that's a big plus in my book. He's always going on about that specific type of seltzer water, so even if I'm not stopping in for food, I still need to grab some of that seltzer water just to appease him. The price is right, too, with two people easily dining together for just $10. There's also a small line of grocery items, featuring rices, seasonings, spices, tortilla chips, salsa, and more available as well, with decent prices on most everything.
