The food is tasty and the drinks are really good too. They have a nice selection of tequila and you can even order a flight to try different ones. The customer service is good too. I've come here a few times and this particular time I was ordering to go. Someone in the kitchen forgot my order, and after that was resolved, they apologized and gave me a free margarita which was delicious. My husband said they did not look fresh and looked over cooked so the waiter got the manager. When the manager "Greg" came to our table he came by with a bully attitude and said "you got a problem with the food" and we said the shrimp was overcooked. He said we can't re cook it so we said we've been coming here for years and the shrimp never looks like this, he said well that's how we make it and we not doing it again. Went here on a Sunday and the Vibe was pretty laid back. Started out with Drinks I ordered the frozen Margarita and my Date had a Big Drink that was simular to a Long Island iced tea. The frozen Margarita was Not Good to me because it had no taste of lime whatsoever, so I asked our server to Replace it with a classic Margarita on the rocks. That was a lot better ! For a starter we had the Mini Chimis which were tiny fried burritos. The veggie chimi surprisingly had Broccoli in it. I Was definitely expecting more Mexican style veggies like Onions, Peppers ,Mushroom or Avocado . It was fried and had some cheese in it so it was descent. My entree was the Shrimp Quesadilla I wanted The Lobster Quesadillas but they didn't have it. The shrimp one was descent, Would order it to be more crisper next time. Burrito bar always delivers. The drinks are awesome; today I had a few pineapple ciprianis, I've been here before and had the margaritas which were equally as good. The food always comes out hot and fresh. Today We had the fish tacos (very good), table side guacamole (always a nice show if you're on a date), mini chimmys (to die for) and the tacos as an appetizer. The outdoor seating is nice and the waiters are always friendly (as is the hostess). I tend to only order the guacamole or the mini chimis and a red sangria. The inside is divey drink and watch the games type, but the food was decent, the staff was diverse and attentive. We were pleased for the most part but ran into a few issues including after dinner issues. We had ordered table side guacamole, to not have it made table side and it was ok at best. My girlfriend had originally asked for a drink they had featured in the menu to be told it is only made in the summer time, and my plate would not come with rice and beans but a baked potato, sure. I had a sizzling steak and potatoes, she had what seemed like mini burritos inside of a tostada salad. It was ok, she did not like the vegetable one, I thought it was ok too. During our dinner, there is a birthday party going on and a fight breaks out. There was no real resolution until one of the guys decided to walk off, everything was disorderly, and there is no excuse because in an establishment where there is alcohol you have to be prepared for situations like these. Guess they want every business possible. We all shared a 8 Miles High Nachos (A mountain of Corn Tortillas Chips topped with melted cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole & sour cream.) This was alright nachos to me. Packed with a lot of stuff on top of the nachos. I wouldn't really call it "8 Miles High." I wish I could have got the Guacamole because they make it fresh and made right in front of you. Next time I will try that if and when I come back. For my meal I got Burrito Gordito (Grilled Chicken, Steak & Chorizo Topped with Salsa Roja & Cheese.) This was a GIGANTIC burrito. Certainly of the biggest I have seen. I didn't even know where to begin. How can you eat that cleanly. I had to use my fork and knife to eat this one. I thought this would be a fatty kind of burrito, but it wasn't to me. The flavors was good. Not salty and properly well made burrito. This burrito was way too much. I only ate 3/4 of it. I don't think the burrito needed to be that big because it was hard to pick up. As a huge fan of Mexican, MexiCali and TexMex food I went in with high hopes. I was not impressed. I will give them credit for the guacamole it was delicious but our chip basket came filled with chip pieces rather than actual whole chips. We could have waited for more to be prepared. My enchiladas were flavorless and the "perfect" margarita had way too much triple sec and was giving me heartburn. To top it off their credit system went down and the atm only had $20 in it. They were instructing people to go elsewhere to get cash and then not compensating for the inconvenience with the exception of a free bottom shelf tequila shot. Probably won't be going back. The loud music didn't make it very conducive to talking, but they were very nice about turning the music down when we asked. Their Mexican food was very Americanized (LOADED with cheese), but it's very filling and certainly satisfies that once-in-awhile Mexican craving. We got the: Platino: lemme just say they're were very GENEROUS on the avocado topping for this one! I wouldn't get this if you're trying to look for a hearty meal though. If you are, I'd recommend the... Combo entree: which came with taco, enchilada, and I believe quesadilla. They also had rice and beans on the side, which was very dry, so feel free to spice it up with some hot sauce! I wouldn't come here just for the food, hence the 2/5 stars. And I wouldn't come here just for their drinks. I WOULD come here for social events that involve dinner AND drinks. I was immediately enticed by Burrito Bar's atmosphere. I wanted to eat there right away, but my friend insisted on looking around for other restaurants before making choice. Low and behind, we came right back to Burrito Bar. We sat outside which I thought was nice. It was sort of lateish at night so the temp was perfect. The service was pretty prompt even though it was a little full in there. I had the lime mojito and it was delicious (hard to go wrong with one of those) and the tacos. If I could rank this place lower, I would. I'm a lifelong New Yorker who has lived in Brooklyn for almost 4 years now and have never been treated at a restaurant/bar as atrociously as me and my friend were last night. After spending some time at Sweet Polly, a new (and lovely) bar across from the Doughnut Plant, we decided to walk up to Burrito Bar and patronize a local business while we waited to catch an Uber home. The local mainstays of Prospect Heights are rapidly disappearing (Cubana Cafe, Ideya, Elberta and so on) so when we are in the area we try to give local haunts some love (I don't spend too much time in Prospect Heights these days). Upon arriving, we walked up to the bar. The hostess seemed a bit off but we didn't think much of it. I went to the bathroom, came back, and the manager (I didn't grab his name which I regret and plan on rectifying when I go there this weekend to follow up in person) informed us we were being cut off and refused service. I am very well aware of Alcohol and Beverage Control rules. I understand the line bartenders and bar runners have in ensuring that no one gets hospitalized from overconsumption, becomes belligerent, or gets behind the wheel. However, we were not belligerent, abrasive, or despondent. We hadn't so much as sat down yet. We had a few drinks down the block but were nowhere close to indisposed. When I demanded an explanation he said it's a "liability issue"; meanwhile a couple at the bar was incoherently incapacitated next to us. He didn't come close to any level of courtesy or remorse until we made him aware of the offices that my friend and I work for and our potential to make a big stink about the situation, at which point he attempted to backtrack. Too little, too late. Every bar has the right to deny service to their discretion, but they could not give us a valid reason for why, except that we had consumed alcohol somewhere else, as most bar patrons do. It was especially disgusting considering we specifically went there to patronize a more "local" business and got stiffed for no legitimate reason - at which point I am only left to assume the fact that we are two black women was the issue, as they are trying to adjust the demographics of their clientele to the changing neighborhood. I honestly cannot remember a time I was ever treated like this. It's extremely disappointing that a place I have patronized for year was dismissive and abrasive, and only showed a hint of remorse when I had to impress my access to people with influence. I will be following up in person and via phone to address my concerns about their service, and I sincerely discourage Black locals from continuing to give them our money if this is how we will be treated. There are plenty of other mainstays that I can and will support instead. (La Caye, Mo's, Bar Sepia, 333, and so on). read more

They accommodated us quickly even though there was a half hour wait, so that was a plus...a hopeful one! But then it all went downhill from there! Our waiter was the wwooorrsstttt! My favorite happy hour spot!! $3 coronas, $5 sangrias and $6 margaritas and their nacho appetizer hits the spot every time. Their wait staff is usually attentive and welcoming, usually knowing exactly when we need a refill. Passing by this place basically my whole life, I finally came here last night. For a small place, there was a lot of people inside but it wasn't packed nor was it hard to get a table of 3. The ambience is nice and dark (which everybody knows is the best setting for getting drunk lol).There is plenty options of different flavors of margaritas and it's good know because the drinks are way better than the food. The food is nothing to write home about. The prices are kind of cheap It's Tex Mexican but like heavy emphasis on the Texas part. I ordered 3 mini chimis which is deep fried and usually crispy and they were brought out to the table in a soft shell taco. The French fries were the tastiest thing I had ordered. My server was giving me Frank from Shameless vibes. She made sure we were okay, kept checking up on us, got us normal sized straws (they have baby ones) and was super down to earth. Went to burrito bar for brunch last week for my birthday with my cousins and ended up with FOOD POISONING. We sat down and ordered our drinks, waitress seemed to be new and had to keep checking in with the bar to get answers to our questions. We get our drinks and order our food which took forever to come, almost 2 hours. Both my cousin and I were the only ones in our party who got our meals with over easy eggs and we both ended up sick. When we called to speak to management and informed them, we were told that it couldn't be from their food, that it must've been from something else and that if we wanted to discuss the matter that we had to go in person at noon to speak to them, as if we don't have jobs of our own.
