On 2/21/23 we were traveling from Fort Bragg to Lincoln CA when our Toyota 4Runner's alternator light kept coming on and going out. Once we got around Upperlake we started panicking so we began calling rental car & Uhaul places. We finally got lucky with Uhaul and ended up at Gustafson's in Clearlake but we decided to ask the guy there (Joel) if he knew a good mechanic in the area. He recommended Burrell's Automotive so we drove a few seconds down the road to Burrell's. Thank you so much Joel! Jim Burrell saved our day!! We really didn't think it would be possible to find a mechanic that would drop everything and replace our alternator in less than an hour but Jim made it happen! It was very important for us to get to Lincoln by a certain time, we figured we'd ask and if it was a no, we would rent the Uhaul and leave our car overnight. What a kind hearted person Jim is to have done this with no hesitation and a smile on his face. Thank you Jim! Maybe we'll have the pleasure of seeing you in Fort Bragg one of these days. I took my truck in to get it fixed so it would pass smog and he told me to leave it and he would look at it later. I would call him a few times a week to see what was going on and he would tell me that he hasn't looked at it yet. I also went to his business to see what was up and again he told me he hadn't looked at it yet. So then I get a lien notice in the mail telling me if I didn't get my truck out of there and pay him $50.00 he was going to tow it off . My friend and I went there and he yelled that his place wasn't a storage for my truck. He obviously has no people skills and doesn't know how to run a business. Maybe he doesn't like women. brought my car there for tie rod ends and had the new parts with me.. After 2 days i went there to see what was going on. it was done, but i had never been called. I paid the bill to a very grumpy scowling man. A few days later i was able to ask a friend to look at the car because it was still making the clicking noise. He told me the original parts were still on my car, from the factory, and had NOT been replaced. As far as im concerned Burrells STOLE my parts and did NO work on the car, then STOLE my money. Jim and company took in my ailing classic Chevy a while ago. What I wanted was for him to fix a couple of issues with the van. What I got back was a vehicle with a whole new life in it. I told Jim that there was no hurry on the van so he had it a while so he could really get down and make sure everything was right. He did his job and I've never enjoyed driving this classic vehicle more than I did today. It had more zip and ran better than it ever has. Honestly I couldn't believe the difference in my old van - did he secretly put a turbo under the hood, or did he finally get it running right after so many others had attempted to do so? Whatever the case the price was great, the results were fantastic and I'm completely thrilled. Jim Burrell is a rock star. Nobody else would work on my old car - Jim took pride in the job. Horrendous! Jim is incredibly rude and has absolutely no customer orientation, social, or interpersonal skills . . . let alone any smig of professionalism! I walked in for a smog and he treated me like a bug he wanted to wipe off a windshield. Then when I was asked to sign his form to allow him to do the smog I told him I needed to read the paragraph. At this he expressed disdain saying "I can't wait since I have better things to do!" Needless to say, I walked out. Jim does not have any idea of what customer service, let alone respect looks like! The customer service was bad. They mixed up my appointments and told me that, that was my problem. When I went to schedule both appointments and when I went to the first appointment the same guy was working. He looked like he was either really tired or on something bith times. When I arrived for the first appointment he had to take all my info down again cause he couldnt remember where my info he writen down was. Before leaving from my first appointment, I confirmed with the guy (who still didnt write anything down for my second appointment) that the next time I come in is friday at 1 and he says yes. I go in and there are more people working this time and they say that im wrong. If im wrong then why did the employee confirm otherwise with me. Never getting my business again, and I suggest not to go there. Their prieces aren't that cheep either. read more

The rudest mechanic I have ever talked to. He wouldn't let me explain what I have been going through with my car so I could get a clear answer about my SMOG issues. He talked down to me like I was stupid and then he threw my papers in my face and basically told me to "get out!". I paid for my SMOG thinning I could get a retest done since I already paid for it and it said "NOTREADY". He told me in a very rude way "we don't do that here. Do we have a sign on the outside that says Free Retest, no, so we don't do that!" He never was able to help me with a clear explanation of my vehicle. I then called Performance European in Lakeport, Ca. and I got more help over then phone then in person at Burrell's. They are rude, ignorant, and redneck country idiots. I am gonna also report them to the BBB and to the state SMOG board to let them know they are trying to scam people out of their money without even helping try and figure out what is going on with their cars. THIS IS A TERRIBLE PLACE IF YOU ACTUAL WANT A MECHANIC YOU CAN TALK TO ABOUT YOUR CAR. They are suppose to be professionals and all they did was take my money and then tell me they couldn't help me cause I won't let him talk over me! Did a great job on fixing a couple of leaking valves, one of which required changing the timing belt (which I knew was accurate as the car was previously inspected and was diagnosed with the same problem/solution). Also, did solid work on a tune up. Fast turn around. Car performance is noticeably better and manager/owner was kind enough to meet me at the shop on his day off to allow me to pick up the car. read more
