My registration was due in 2 days (for the money saver option), and it was the first time my car needed pass a smog test since I bought it. When I had stopped by the auto shop close to my house, they told me they do not do smog tests however they usually send people to AA Smog. A customer who was in the auto shop waiting room told me "I always use AA Smog, they are the absolute best." In my head I was thinking "yeah ok, what can be so great about a smog test. Any smog place can smog a car." So, I thanked everyone for the suggestion and decided to head on down to AA Smog Test Only. It was a little difficult to find at first however once I was approaching the driveway they had a large easy to read sign with an arrow pointing where to go. Once I parked and made my way inside. There were a few people there waiting for their cars and I began to think "Uh oh, this place seems kind of busy." As I approached the front desk, I was greeted by a gentleman (I believe the owner) who was very friendly. He told me there was not an open spot for at least 2 hours. He said he might be able to fit me in sooner if I would like to wait. I told him unfortunately I had to go run some errands and asked if he might have any appointments later in the day. He said if I wanted to come back at 3, he could have me in and out. So, I booked the appointment and went about my day. So, I was done with all my errands plus it was over 100 degrees outside, so I was just done with wanting to do anything else. As I pulled in it looked like there would be no wait. I parked my car and went inside at about 2:45. The man again greeted me and asked for my keys. He then proceeded to go get my car started. The waiting room wasn't very big however it was comfortable. He had a little window AC going so the room was very nice and cool (temperature wise). He even had a small area for kids. It wasn't much but I would LOVE it if my kids were younger and I brought them. I hardly had time to really check everything out before the man came in and told me he was all done and that I was good to go. I was impressed at how fast (maybe 15-20 minutes) the process. The total for what I paid was $75 which I'm not sure is normal pricing. I believe I have seen some of those coupons you get in the mail for $5-$10 off. I was happy to pay it with how fast he got me in and out. Sorry for such a lengthy but I would highly recommend this business. Great owner, great service and you really are in and out.

SG smog check center got back to me pretty quickly and offered me a great deal that I could not refuse. I stopped by today and followed instructions and and showed the message to the front desk representative regarding the price. She unfortunately stated that they no longer do that price so I'll have to pay an additional $10. At that point I felt a little unhappy, but I'm already there so I need the service done. To my surprise when my car was finished with its smog, happy it passed, they honored and gave me the price that was quoted in the message. The facility itself is pretty quick. There were a few people in front of me, but it felt like I was in and out in less than 30 minutes from start to finish . I'll definitely use them again because the pricing was great and the efficiency and quickness of the people that work there are awesome. They are also STAR certified! Not knowing they could do the testing without it, I ran home and realizing it was already time for my appt, I called to let them know I was running late. Thankfully, the next appt was already there, so we were able to basically switch spots (them taking the current time that had been mine and me taking theirs). The woman in the office was so helpful and kind about it! I got there before the updated appt time while the vehicle before me was finishing up testing, and we were in and out like a flash after that! Very friendly, fast flexible service, and great pricing. I only have had one problem and it was a bad gas cap. Timm used a cap he had, told me I had to replace mine, and my car passed with flying colors. His price is reasonable and I am usually in and out of his shop in under 30 minutes. My only complaint is that he is a SF FOURTY NINERS fan. If you have a unique problem, chances are it's going to take longer than you would want it to take to get it fixed. Otherwise just go to the dealer to get it fixed and pay dealer rates/prices.
