Title: Extremely Disappointing Service and Dishonesty I brought my brand-new 2025 Honda Accord to Burns Honda because the audio system was malfunctioning. I had already mentioned this issue during my previous oil change, but I was told they "couldn't see anything." At Burns Honda, I showed the problem live -- the staff clearly saw the malfunction and confirmed the issue. They took my car for inspection, then suddenly claimed "there is nothing wrong." When I showed them the video I recorded earlier, they checked again. One of the employees even admitted that he had seen the problem, but said they couldn't do anything unless the system showed an error code. I explained that not every malfunction appears as a system code and that the audio unit was clearly defective. After insisting, they finally agreed to order the part and told me it would arrive in two days. This morning at 8:08 AM, I received a message saying the part had arrived and to bring my car in. They told me the replacement would take about two hours. When I picked up the car, they claimed the part had been replaced. However, the same issue appeared again the same evening. I checked the audio unit myself and realized it had not been replaced -- the dust, marks, and scratches were exactly the same. They lied to me. I bought this car brand new (0 miles), only 50 days ago, and I am extremely disappointed with how this dealership treated me. Dishonest service, inconsistent communication, and no real solution. This is a review of the DEALERSHIP. Most reviews I see here are for the repair shop, but I have no experience with that, so this is specifically the dealership. They were amazing, from start to finish. The entire process of talking about what car I would get, what I did or did not want extra and how they'd accept payments was super smooth and friendly. They even sent me links to a couple videos they did - and I know it was made for me because they said my name, talked about the car I was looking at and the car I wanted to trade in. They were always quick to get back to me and always kind enough to give me more time as I figured things out on my end. I had just moved, I have a elderly sick cat, I work multiple jobs that have my head spinning and this was my first time buying a new car - everything else before that were hand-me-downs from my parents and a used 2006 Scion that I got in 2013 and have driven ever since. I don't want to get into details on what we talked about regarding price and all because each person has different needs and I don't want to give someone a wrong impression of how it would go for them compared to me. This is the second time these guys tried to sell me something I did not need. Took my Honda Pilot in for warranty service and the service department told me I need a front end alignment, the car is a year and a half old and for the length of the lease 3 years it should never need a front end alignment. And if it did that also should be covered under the same warranty that the broke piece on the front end? The first time the service department suggested that I change the differential fluid in the rear after only 6,000 miles. I that is the policy for the differential to be change after 6,000 miles Burns Honda will lose a customer. The only thing that I expect on a brand new lease low mileage vehicle is routine oil changes and tire rotation after just 18 months on the lease. They kept me waiting for 2 hours despite the fact that I had an appt just to tell me I needed new tires (already knew that prior to going in) and charged me $200. Needing new tires does not cause a sound. They said it's because I had my tires rotated recently and that's why i was hearing a new noise. Despite telling me that if they found no cause for the noise they wouldn't charge me, they charged me because they "did find something wrong" and that it was that I needed new tires. I'll start out by saying I went to Burns competition, Davis Honda after I saw a car online. However, they were rigid with pricing. It took too much negotiation and they still weren't where I wanted to be price wise. At the dealer, I saw an Si in their showroom and was told showroom cars were not test drivable. I saw they recently received an Si. I was hesitant to go in at first. After Davis, and also seeing so many fees that were added on, I was leary. I went on their website through the online buying process, just to see about their fees. I noticed there were similar fees, but less than Davis. I figured I'd inquire about the car and see if it was even available. Amanda contacted me and I expressed my concern about pricing. She was very kind and checked into it. She said that fees and add ons, were optional and negotiable. I also let her know about the deal I'd been working on with Davis. She said bring all that info I had about the deal into the dealership. She basically said, they will not be oversold. From the moment I stepped into the dealership, the vibe was completely different. I met with Gary and he was no nonsense from the beginning. I told him about my experience at Davis and showed him what we were working on for so long. I explained what I was looking for. He came back almost immediately with the numbers I wanted. He went back to his manager once! There was no back and forth, I was shocked at how easy he made it seem. Such a contrast as to what I just dealt with at Davis. I had a much better feeling about this. My indecision faded and drove away that day with the car! The whole team made it easy and stress free. In fact there was a little discrepancy with numbers in finance and the manager took off additional money. They worked with me on everything. I didn't hear a no. All around, I highly recommend Burns. I've purchased many cars and know the drill, the whole song and dance, and language they use. I didn't experience any of that at Burns. She said no problem since we handn't done any paperwork yet. She met with finance and readjusted the numbers and redid the paperwork. I had to leave to do some paperwork but we got it all done with no stress. Christine who again came in on her day off spent about 3 1/2 to 4 hours with us until complete. I stopped into Burns Honda with my daughter since she was thinking an Odyssey minivan would be a great vehicle for her growing family. Initial impression of the dealership was a well-organized, bright, clean sales floor with a friendly staff. Man was I wrong! Our salesman was the archetypal fast-talking, lying, cheating, greedy, selfish dude who is single-mindedly focused on moving the cash out of your pocket into his pocket. He could explain, with some degree of accuracy, the variety of trim levels available on the Odyssey. But that's where it ended. He couldn't explain the difference between a Honda Certified Pre Owned vehicle and a "Q" Pre Owned vehicle (I'm not sure if it was "Q" "cue" or "queue" because he was flailing around trying to explain the difference). My guess the "Q" means questionable! It was like pulling teeth to get the cost of the vehicle. He showed us this beat up "Q" Odyssey (which he couldn't answer the question "will this bumper damage be repaired?") and a new minivan. Then he places in front of us the cost of financing the "Q" versus leasing the new minivan. This is the oldest sleaze bag tactic ever! The snake oil salesman doesn't disclose a total cost of ownership but rather just a monthly payment. He then structures the terms of the agreement so it appears the new minivan is the better deal because of the lower payment. But in 36 months you have nothing except an expired lease! Additionally, Burns Honda is an old fashion business model with various layers of approvals to close a deal. They want you to sit there for hours while the salesman runs around the dealership doing everything he can to get you the best possible deal. Someone in leadership doesn't understand almost every customer under 75 years old has a smart phone and is fact-checking every dull witted cliché spewed by salespeople. In the end we walked out. I just could not stand hearing anymore BS! I came with a couple family members and all agreed the experience we had was terrible. If you're hungover please just call out of work and don't try to sell cars, let's start there. We knew inventory would be low right now. We test drove one car which was somewhat in my budget, and suddenly after test driving, another "came back in stock" miraculously -- this was after one of my family members pointed the car out and we were immediately told it was sold. Interesting this one popped back up within 10 minutes? But ok. Our salesman also continued to disappear without any explanation. He'd check his texts then get up and leave sometimes for 15 minutes at a time! No idea where he'd go and it wasn't like we could really go anywhere mid-sale. An extremely tacky moment -- as we were trying to wrap up, he brought over a gift card. "The incentives of selling a car" he said -- he proceeded to open said gift card, put it in his wallet, then again, disappear.... Super weird?? Overall I left happy to have a car but he really didn't work with my budget and didn't seem interested in the overall experience of this sale. I've never leased a car before - he not once explained how to make payments, when to make payments, etc etc etc. As someone who's leasing for the first time it would've been really helpful just to have a general overview - shopping for cars is already overwhelming and stressful. I think he cared the most at the end of our day -- where he asked to give a good review. We spent hours at this dealership, left feeling uncomfortable, but at least I have a car. Unfortunately I wish I read previous reviews about this dealership as I'm now pretty anxious all my future interactions won't be pleasant here. The MSRP at Burns Honda is higher than stated on the Honda website and the manager had no real explanation for it (that's aside from to the $1500 market adjustment due to the chip shortage and $750 equipment fee). Expect to pay close to (at least) 7K over MSRP when all is said and done. The staff seems helpful tho, even the wet noodle of a sales manager who tried to justify a 39k/40k price for a standard CRV EX-L and didn't offer a counter for the original price quoted. It's weird that we still have to use lame middle-man dealerships at all but that's a rant for another time. If they listed prices accurately, then they wouldn't get as many people into Burns. Also, can we stop with the disappearing for 20 minutes at a time to print out a piece of paper or "check with the manager" charade? read more
