This was the second time my company hired the Burning Buns truck to cater to our associates. The food was great but the service was horrible! We paid for 50 burgers and fries and only got 30. When I asked her if she could make the remaining burgers so we could give to the rest of the closing team, she said yes. When it was time to for to leave, they took off without saying again to anyone and only left 5 burgers. We We called her to ask what happened to the rest of the burgers we paid for, she and the young man she was with started yelling at me saying they had to leave and didn't have time to make the rest of the burgers. I can't believe that! We paid for 50, we should definitely get what we paid for. It's sad because last year, the older gentleman that was there was great and did cook and leave us the remaining burgers. This time, the lady and young man were rude and unprofessional. We contacted they again to talk about the situation and either get the remaining burgers or some of our money back and they have yet to respond Service was definitely a huge F for fail. Another "Food Truck Wednesday" at work means another "Sore Body Thursday" courtesy of the wife. I gravitated over to the menu ( https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/burning-buns-los-angeles-3?select=z2FZDcwvfhugd1YsouK0sQ ) and started my perusing. Some of the specialty burgers have names like "Hulk", "Beefcake" and "Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde", but none of them fit the theme of this visit. There was one burger that not only interested my palate, but fit the theme and its name ... "Frankenstein's Monster." Not only did bacon and ham on top of a burger sound appealing, but much like the monster of lore, I was going to need a ton of stitches after the better half beat me for this latest transgression! I continued down the list of ingredients in the "Frankenstein's Monster" ( https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/burning-buns-los-angeles-3?select=hfJISHcRdF4PaK7IhVniVw ) until I read the last item which was Red Ass BBQ Sauce. It was like this food truck knew what the consequences of my transgression would be and was trying to give me fair warning. I was having none of these omens and warnings, bravely strolled up to the window and ordered my "monster" and a Basket O' Fries ( https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/burning-buns-los-angeles-3?select=fUi5tVnCVaf0BCAAIDSP5g ) for good measure. I would have ordered a Mexican Coke to wash it all down, but this truck only sold the American variety. After way overspending my nickel allowance, I took a chill while the truck prepared my "sinful" meal and thought about the diabolical torture I would have to endure for the meal. My short interaction with the staff was friendly and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time (especially for a food truck). After a nine flight ride in an elevator, I was back at my "desk of despair" and ready to stuff my face. The burger had some "monster" flavor from the angus beef and two types of swine. The bacon was crisp and there was a good amount of ham under the bun. The cheddar cheese was very nicely melted onto the burger patty and the cheddar complimented the proteins. The veggies were fresh and the grilled red onions provided a sweet bite to the burger. The Red Ass BBQ sauce had a subtle flavor, but there would be nothing subtle about the "red ass" my better half would be doling out later. My only complaint would be the bun to burger ratio leaned toward the bun and it needed a little more toasting to hold up against all the ingredients. Rohlinism: No one wants big buns ... with their burger! Basically, the bun started failing about half way through the burger. The fries for portion size were worth the price point, I wouldn't order them in the future because the outside of the portion there was nothing noteworthy. Some of the "dressed up" fry options might be worth investigating on a future visit. I would recommend this food truck and after I have recovered from my latest wounds I would be willing to overspend my allowance on another burger here! P.S. Burning Buns just showed up at our complex. I figured I'd take a break from my healthy eating and have some good ole comfort food - a treat - since I just finished a very involved project. Being Cuban, I was curious about the Cubano sandwich. I asked for easy on the cheese (I'm lactose intolerant), and chipotle sauce on the side. I wanted to taste the sauce before putting it on the sandwich. Truthfully, I don't think it needed it. The sandwich was very tasty without it and I LOVED the pickles. Traditionally , those go on the Media Noche, but they were great with this sandwich. I also ordered regular fries and was pleasantly surprised by their taste: salty, spicy AND sweet. Would have preferred them to be a bit more crunchy, but taste wise, they were awesome! Got my fill and have half a sandwich for tomorrow. read more

Okay... yes.. they're expensive.. 32$ for 2 burgers but the guy threw in fries for free and HOLY SH*T are they good. Their brisket fries are TO DIE FOR. Burgers (go with spicy!!!) are omg amazing. Burning Buns came to my apartments last week and we decided to give them a try because who doesn't like a burger? We got the hulk, another burger that had ham and bacon on it and the Buffalo fries. Delicious Brioche buns, super fresh produce and a great spreads. The fries were also solid, very much a buttery buffalo sauce, chopped grilled chicken and blue cheese crumbles, hit the spot. Simply put: All of their food is tasty! Today I ordered truffle fries, carne asada fries (sub. carne for pollo), The Smurf, and a Hulk (double patty) burger. If you love blue cheese, then you need to get The Smurf! They put a generous amount of blue cheese and blue cheese dressing that complement the beef patty so well! I also recommend getting ranch dressing as an add-on. It was recommended and it made the burger that much more savory! Also the burger buns tasted fresh , moist, and they have a good thickness to them. The carne asada fries come FULLY LOADED with generous protein, a lot of sauce, and a mild cajun rub that bring the flavors together. Whooo! Caught these guys at BottleLogic Brewery in Anaheim. Took a 3 minute drive down from my place of employment. I had the Hulk Burger with the Creamy Chipotle. For sure best food truck I've eaten from hands down and come to think of it, probably one of the best burgers I've had altogether.
