I used to come to Senor Baja quite a bit back before 2020, and loved their food, especially for Mexican cuisine in Anaheim Hills, which in my opinion doesn't have too much to offer food-wise. After the pandemic, I think they experienced a stretch of time where the quality was dipping. Since then, it seems they changed the menu and even the interior of the restaurant. They've now opted for a more minimalistic, clean, look. I was disappointed to see they no longer have a salsa bar, which I think I remember them having. That being said, their staff is great and I'm sure they'd be happy to provide whichever salsa or side you ask for. I just like the convenience of self-service for things like that The food was definitely solid and we enjoyed everything we got. The asada was just a little bit dry, but their ingredients were all fresh, and the Baja style fish/shrimp were great just as I remembered. I would definitely recommend it and I think as it is now it's one of the better Mexican spots in the area. read more

We ordered a shrimp burrito and the 3 taco plate with 2 regular fried fish taco and one grilled fish taco. The grilled fish taco had a small piece of fish and the batter was just too much on the fried fish tacos 6-7/10 (10 being the best). They were okay but nothing special. The shrimp burrito was average 5/10 ( 10 being the best). If you want decent Mexican food in the area I think this is your best bet. It's definitely authentic. I ordered the grilled shrimp burrito and it was okay nothing flavor wise really stood out to me so if you're hungry and need something filling I recommend. If you're looking for something that's going to amaze your taste buds then I would say maybe don't get this burrito. I do want to come back and try some other stuff. The service is okay like others mentioned you practically have to beg for salsas I thought it was in my bag but nope you will not be given salsa unless you ask. Came here as I was craving some fish tacos and I found out they had a Wednesday special on their Fish Taco for $3.19 each. Trust me though, those tacos are pretty filling! I ordered just two and kept me stuffed for a good few hours. I would say maybe 3 tacos if you're really hungry. They are covered with the crispy-battered fish, sliced cabbage, pico de gallo, and also comes with their signature green sauce. The green sauce is good! I was also greeted by the young lady at the register. There's like one cook in the kitchen. It was a pretty empty dine-in place when I was there earlier evening, but lots of people coming in and out to pick-up or get their orders to-go. There isn't really a vibe at this location though. It's a pretty plain-looking location - the walls are painted in a 90s tan color and there's a small wall that has some art, but that's about it. They don't have a working salsa station, it seemed like an abandoned table near the pick-up area. But, in all, I enjoyed the tacos! read more

The atmosphere is very casual. It is located in a shopping center and there is plenty of parking. The food is authentic and good. Many of the gardeners in our area come here for lunch, as do firemen and police officers. They know where the good food is. The service is fast and friendly, prices are reasonable. How is this spot still in business? I tried picking up my Uber Eats order and the lady in the front looked at me like I was a Martian. She then demanded to see the app as if giving my first and last name wasn't confirmation enough. After showing her the app, she snapped back that she couldn't see my name on the order and wanted to see photo ID. I've had an easier time getting through TSA. Any restaurant that relies on local regulars should figure out how to hire someone that can talk to people. I have visited this restaurant a couple of times, but this particular day I had a terrible experience .My 3 year old daughter & I were treated rudely. We were discriminated against by the cashier Ramona. We came in with the intention to place a togo order but beforehand had gotten ice cream next door at Baskin Robins. I kindly asked the cashier for spoons for our ice cream, that we were holding in our hands, explaining to her that Baskin Robins had ran out of spoons. She looked at me with a look of disgust and proceeded to tell me they only had forks & knives and it was only for their customers. I then let her know I would pay for them, she ignored me and walked away and began to take an order over the phone. After several minutes of standing there waiting for her to finish the phone order, she then walked past me and began talking to the cook about another order. When she finally addressed me again, she was now saying that the restrooms were only for customers. At this point I'm furious because I didn't once ask to use the restroom. I basically felt like she didn't want me & my child in this restaurant at all. . I sternly told her that I didn't ask for the restroom , I asked for two spoons which I offered to pay for. I let her know she was being rude and I felt discriminated against. I then asked for her manager, she told me he wasn't there, so I asked for his contact info & name. Of course she wouldn't give it to me , instead she acted like she was calling the manager from the store phone , but of course he didn't answer. She told me to write my info on a piece of paper and she would give it to him. I have never been treated like this at a food establishment. Senor Baja is one of my favorite places to eat, but this particular location has changed that. I wouldn't recommend going here if you expect quality customer service. read more

Sadly, this will be our last visit to Senior Baja. Unfortunately, service and quality continues to decline. We are regulars and continue coming back in hopes they will do better. I've been to Senor Baja many times and it's okay. It's a small place with limited seating and a couple of chairs and tables outside. I would imagine most of their business is takeouts. The decor is nuetral, clean with pictures of Baja California. There don't have servers and you have to go to the counter to order. They used to have a menu board but now the menu is on the counter next to the cash register. The menu is very limited...mostly fish tacos and burritos. The nachos are very generous, for 2-3 people. The fish is fresh and well-seasoned. The tacos are either grilled or deep fried. My sister ordered the potato tacos that had a very hard shell, not crunchy and it was just mashed potato with very little season. Their signature dish is the fish tacos, which is always very good. This business has been here for years and has changed ownership several times. It's a bit pricey for what it is. The bean and cheese burrito had plenty of beans to the point the thing fell apart on the first bite. They used a white cheese which was a little sparse and had little flavor. saw this place passing by & decided to give it a try and it did not disappoint. i tried their baja fish burrito and it was pretty darn good!! the baja fish was super crispy & crunchy, the burrito was balanced with good ratio between the cabbages, rice, refried beans, pico, cream sauce, and of course the baja fish itself. only feedback i have is that i wish the burrito was wrapped a bit better but besides that, it was great! not to mention, the service was quick & the workers were so sweet making sure i was good, asking if i needed anything, offering water cups before i even asked, and just overall felt really nice/homey! will def be back :D read more

I've only had one thing here. And there's a reason why I've only had one thing. I love it! I love the grilled fish taco. The crema that they put on it is so yummy, a bit spicy and possibly has adobo in it. The tortillas are fresh. The ladies who work here are always warm and friendly. Someday I'll try something else, but I don't get to come here that often so it's straight to the fish taco I go! I use to come frequently to senior Baja and haven't been in a long time, decided tonight to order a chicken quesadilla and two shrimp tacos. Tacos were good (for someone else) but the chicken quesadilla was barley edible. First, it was rolled like a burrito in paper and foil. The chicken was dry and hardly any cheese. One slice had maybe enough. And just to note, the last time we ordered (months ago) the shrimp taco was over cooked. Needless to say I'm super disappointed and won't be going back. Awesome small little place to check out! We came on a Sunday around 1230 pm. It was like 17 of us, it was not the expected amount of people. It was originally 7 of us. Even though the place is small, our party was a big large, and the restaurant crew were not expecting us, the staff was still excellent. We put some tables together, we all got to order our food quickly and the food didn't take really too long before they were calling our number. The food was really delicious, and tasted fresh. I had the ceviche with shrimp. It was really tasty and good. They make their own tostadas and their own nacho chips.
