I usually don't get food from a food truck. But the last couple days, I've decided to give it a shot. Burning Buns is an really good start to try some food from a food truck. Found them via Instagram. The very next day (after finding them on Instagram), I drove all the way to Irvine, California for their burger. I came up in to order window, I met Jessie (owner of Burning Buns). Very nice gentleman. Since I haven't eaten something from a food truck for a long time (if I don't count taco truck), I started off with getting a single burger with creamy chipotle sauce (with fries and drink). While waiting for the burger, I had a nice conversation with Jessie. How cool is that? As soon I got my meal, went back to my car and eat. I must say quality of the burger was excellent. I didn't need to get a double burger or a triple, single burger and fries was more than enough for me. Fries were amazing. This is when I was going to write a review based on that, but I want try one more thing from Burning Buns, so I went again the next day. Next day, they went to Norwalk, California. It was close by to my area. I ordered a really good carne asada. Comes with cheese, avocado spread, and creamy chipotle sauce. Heck yea to that. Got my dinner and I started eating it. It was so good. It was the best carne asada fries I've had. Really love the idea of avocado spread and chipotle sauce. Combination was perfect. The service I got was amazing, thanks to some guy (didn't get his name), Kali (Jessie's amazing wife), and Jessie himself. I will always remember you guys. One of these day, I will come back for some more foodie. Don't know when I'm doing again, but I'll make sure to go again if they're close by to my neighbor. 5 stars!!! read more

Burning Buns came out to our apartment complex to help the tenants with dinner options. Am I glad we went to go take a look at their menu. Their burgers range from a regular homemade burger to a Frankenstein Monster (spoiler it has ham as a topping). They have Cubano style fries, regular fries, and Asada fries. We ordered the Frankenstein Monster OG style (1000 island spread), Cubano fries, and regular fries. The only downside to their food is that I couldn't eat it fast enough! They are definitely on our radar and looking forward to try some of their other menu options. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed. read more

We discovered the Burning Buns food truck at a local winery that we happened to be at. They were flippin' their burgers outside in the truck. I always love a good burger and was excited to try them. Basically you select the burger that you want from their menu, and then you choose the sauce and veggies. I absolutely love the names of all their burgers, and even their truck name - Burning Buns. So creative! I ordered Frankenstein's Monster for $12, which is a monstrous cheeseburger topped with bacon and ham. I selected the OG sauce (thousand island) and all the veggies - lettuce, tomato, grilled onions & pickles. It was definitely monstrous and delicious! I cut the burger in half and was able to eat about 3/4 of it before I got full. All of the flavors came together really well. Warning: it's a bit messy so grab a bunch of napkins! My husband ordered Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde for $16. It came with 2 angus patties, bacon & ham. He loved it and miraculously ate it all! We also split an order of the Truffle fries for $12. Those were insanely delicious and it was more than enough for both of us. The food itself is 5 stars all the way. The reason for the 4 stars is that the prices are quite high. Our bill came out to over $40 for 2 burgers and 1 order of fries. I don't think we've ever spent that much on burgers before, therefore I'm giving this place 4 stars instead of 5. read more

We went to the one parked in front of an apartment complex - not difficult to find at all I ordered the single cheeseburger and the hubby got the jalapeño burger. We both thought the burgers were good but nothing special. The carne asada fries hit the spot but I prefer thin fries to their thick ones. I just experienced the absolute best "Cubano Sandwich" I have ever had! The bun was perfect, and the citrus marinated pork, ham and chipotle gave it amazing flavor. It had enough crunchy yummy pickles layered for every bite and was served warm with savory melted provolone bringing it all together. Great food from this truck! Burnin Buns visited my apartment complex and I didn't want to cook - luckily they did! I ordered the Chicken Wrap with the fancy pants sauce. It was neatly wrapped and tasted amazing, loved the corn and enjoyed the Fancy sauce. The Burnin Buns sauce is the right amount of heat that I was looking for and I highly recommend a side of that with basically anything. I also had the Buffalo Chicken fries and was really impressed. Most loaded fries are only good on the surface but these were seasoned all over with sauce to spare. The chicken was plentiful and the blue cheese crumbles were huge and also a healthy portion. Bring back the celery option! All in all - I would recommend this to anyone who is lucky enough to have their truck around. I also liked the prices they have. This food truck was outside my apartment complex. I was debating if to grab food from them or go buy somewhere else that was a "safe" option to not risk not liking it. I am EXTREMELY glad I chose this food truck instead. As soon as I walked out my apartment complex the smell was delicious! My roommate and I got so lucky because they were about to leave, the staff was super friendly and gave us all the recommendations they had for us to chose our plates, even gave us a sample of their truffle fries! We ended up getting the cubano fries and the bacon Swiss burger with a mixture of their burning bun sauce and creamy chipotle sauce; all I have to say is it literally melted in our mouth. So I got the upgraded version of the bacon Swiss burger with an extra patty with the burning bun sauce. Ok, the burger was pretty bomb diggidy by itself... but the sauce was a perfect 11/10. They had me at "carne asada fries." These guys come by our apartment complex regularly and I'm glad they do. Great burgers and friendly service! They have a vegetarian option if you swing that way but the towers of meat and sauce they churn out is what does it for me. Plus, as previously mentioned, the carne asada fries. Tried this food truck for the first time with my colleague/Yelp bff...and we were extremely satisfied with the Cubano fries. Their sandwiches looks wonderful too but my friend is an avid loaded-fries fan so we went down that route. And there were no regrets. The Cubano Fries are a heavy heap of lightly seasoned fries loaded with citrus-marinated pork, thick sliced ham, kosher dill pickles, grilled onions, chipotle spread and mustard. The flavors are intense and lean towards the sour and tangy because of the mustard but become very savory once the pork becomes part of the bite. The dish becomes more balanced once you eat the toppings with the fries on the bottom of the basket. The price point was a tad steep at $12 for fries, but the quantity is quite large (I would say it's about 1.5 servings) and the ingredients are quite tasty. I believe there are distinct staff designated to only interact with customers and only handle food for no cross contamination. No sanitizer available, had to use a pen to sign the receipt but unsure if it was clean or not, but like I say in all my posts, I always carry my own sanitizer. To order, is similar to The Counter Restaurant but the menu has like 4 things in each category so you don't have to sit there and have anxiety about what you're going to try and put on your burger. I got the Hulk, two patties, two cheese and also Franekstein's Monster, ham, bacon, and cheese INSIDE of the burger. FUNKING DELICIOUS! They have a nice selection of spreads. I chose the Creamy Chipotle and it was really good. The Burning Bun, I think that's what it is with the roasted peppers, is super spicy for my liking but my girlfriend really enjoyed its flavor and punch. Overall: 5/5 We were able to order by texting the cashier so it was super easy and convenient. I did ask for extra sauce so that I could try the OG and the Creamy Sriracha but they had forgotten. I'm not going to deduct a star because they didn't give me extra sauce. That just gives me a reason to make sure to order from them again. Really great burgers coming from a food truck.
