I've been to four in the last week and a half, and looking forward to my classes scheduled! I've done Zumba classes and spin classes (Flywheel), but nothing compares! The two instructors I've taken classes with are amazing. Mike, the head coach is the BEST! I try to get all of my classes with him but would definitely give the others a chance as I'm sure they're all wonderful. It's very much so like a community and every single person that works there has been genuinely kind & helpful. They obviously tried to sell me a membership, but, duh. They weren't pushy about it and were super knowledgeable and helpful when it came to the options! Well, of course I gave in & glad I did! The thing I love the most is how the classes work. It's cardio, rowing, and lifting/floor intervals. You burn so many calories in the hour long class and it's actually fun. The music is always on point. I highly recommend Orangetheory, at least give it a try!

Laura was extremely responsive, responding within the hour of my email. Olympica was at the front desk when I arrived for my scheduled 7:45 Friday tour. My tour with Olympia was informative but also straight to the point. Most of my questions were answered. I was referred online for a description of the classes offered. I've visited a few times already for a few workouts. I like the turf training area. I have spent most of my cardio workout sessions on the elliptical machine. Very smooth cardio ride, with no squeaks, and the elliptical seems to be in good working condition. I enjoyed my free personal training session with Coach King. King's training style is challenging and motivating. O2 Fitness seems like a quality workout experience with and without a trainer. Overall good experience. I saw a machine that could use a dust down at the bottom (near foot areas), and at least one elliptical I used could stand to be replaced due to a worn-out part. I've found it to be a bit warmer than I would like for a gym (without a ceiling fan). Perhaps the temp of the AC should be reviewed.

It's less like a gym and more like a high-end wellness retreat that happens to have world-class barbells. The Recovery & Social Scene The recovery suite is arguably the crown jewel of this location. Whether you're winding down from a heavy session or just need a reset, the cycle of sauna, steam room, and cold plunge is executed perfectly here. It's clean, spacious, and genuinely therapeutic. After you've finished your recovery, the Indoor/Outdoor bar is the perfect place to transition from "athlete" to "socialite." It has a fantastic vibe that makes it easy to grab a post-workout drink or a healthy bite while soaking in the atmosphere. Fitness & Studios The variety of training options is staggering: * Pickleball: With 3 dedicated indoor courts, the community here is thriving. The lighting and court quality are top-tier, making it easy to jump into a game regardless of the weather. * Mind & Body Studio: This space is a sanctuary. It's beautifully designed for yoga and meditation, offering a serene escape from the high-energy lifting floor. * CTR (Core, Tone, Reform): For those looking to master the reformer, the CTR sessions are intense and incredibly effective for building functional strength. The Verdict The only real drawback? If you're looking to channel your inner LeBron, you might be disappointed--I didn't notice a basketball court on-site. However, for most members, the trade-off for more pickleball space and the expansive recovery area is well worth it. If you value a luxury environment that balances hard training with high-end relaxation, this is easily the best club in the area

I recently decided to give SPENGA a try since they are close to my son's school. Honestly I've been…read morein their plaza quite a few times and didn't notice them until recently (Peri Brother's is in the same plaza). They've only been open here a little over a year. They offer a free intro class so I went for it! Rachel and Dacey were there on my first day and I have to say I've never felt so welcomed at a fitness studio before. Both women were super friendly and helpful, they made me feel comfortable right away. I also appreciated the intro texts from the owner Jennifer, she is also quick to text back if you have any questions. Schedule wise I have mainly been going to Emily's classes and she has been great as well. I really love the class itself because the minute you are so sick of cycling or are just so done with strength training, you are already moving on to the next thing. The class is 20 minutes of spin, 20 minutes of strength training, closing with 20 minutes of yoga. It's honestly awesome and a little bit of everything. There are folks within a wide variety of fitness levels in each class. They have a board up in spin, but you only compete against yourself and not the whole class. In strength there are always modifications to make things easier or more difficult. The yoga section is beginner yoga, but I'd say it would be good to have some knowledge of yoga before your first class, just the basics. The staff take care of cleaning everything so you don't have to worry about that in between sessions. They clean things right away so you know they value making sure everything is in great shape for everyone. You leave your stuff in strength when you move to yoga and oftentimes when I go back to my station they have taken the care to literally fold my sweatshirt while they are cleaning the station. I've just never been to a gym studio that takes that much care. On top of the free intro class, I've noticed they often have promotions going on for your first month. Overall, I am so happy I've joined SPENGA and I hope it's something I continue to keep up with. If you are looking for soemthing new, I highly recommend checking them out.

I'm visiting family here in North Carolina and came by this location with my fiancé. I'm a paying member based in California and didn't realize my membership didn't include out of state access. When I scanned in, the guy at the front desk immediately asked if I was from here. I explained that I was just visiting, but instead of offering help or explaining options, he was rude, dismissive, and made no effort to assist. There was no explanation, no attempt to offer a guest pass, upgrade, or even a basic welcome. He simply turned us away, without care. I even called my home gym in California, and their manager was very kind and understanding. They said that this location could have offered a courtesy pass but when I brought it up, the staff here, especially the manager Daniel, refused and acted like I didn't matter. It was honestly one of the most unwelcoming gym experiences I've ever had. To compare after leaving LA Fitness, I went to Planet Fitness nearby, and guess what? I'm not even a member there, but they gladly welcomed me in, offered me a free guest pass, and treated me with kindness and respect. Their staff was professional and accommodating, something this LA Fitness location seriously lacks. I've always had great experiences at my home LA Fitness in California, where staff are helpful and friendly. But this Raleigh location made me feel disrespected, unimportant, and embarrassed. I wasn't trying to get in for free I would've upgraded on the spot if someone had just taken a moment to explain. Instead, I was kicked out like I wasn't even a member. Really upsetting experience. I'm incredibly disappointed and honestly disgusted with how AKT Brier Creek treated my mom,…read moreespecially considering how much support she had previously shown this location. My mom attended workouts here, but she also went out of her way to support this business professionally. Through her marketing work within the shopping district, she helped them with marketing videos, events, and other promotional efforts. Unfortunately, she later lost her job and shortly afterward had to undergo emergency surgery. During an already incredibly difficult time, she called AKT Brier Creek to cancel her membership and explained her circumstances. She was told that she HAD to physically come into the studio to cancel and that they would not allow her to do it over the phone. My mom lives an HOUR away from this location and, after emergency surgery, was in no position to make a two-hour round trip just to cancel a gym membership. She also wasn't going to be physically able to make that drive anytime soon. Instead of offering her a reasonable alternative or showing even a little compassion, they continued attempting to charge her card and ultimately sent the account to collections. When I contacted the studio myself and asked about their cancellation policy, I couldn't even get a clear answer. Instead of transparency or accountability, I was met with defensiveness. This is exactly the kind of business practice people deserve to know about before signing a contract. If someone loses their job, undergoes emergency surgery, lives an hour away, and CALLS to explain that they physically cannot come in, there should be some reasonable way to cancel a membership without eventually being sent to collections. Policies are one thing. Refusing to work with someone facing legitimate extenuating circumstances is another. My mom supported this business when she was in a position to do so. When she needed basic understanding in return, this is how she was treated. If you're considering joining AKT Brier Creek, I strongly recommend getting every detail of their cancellation policy in writing before signing anything. At the end of the day, this experience made it feel like collecting $$$ mattered more than treating a person with basic decency.
