What better way to celebrate than to stay healthy (or to try at least?). The exercises were challenging, but he emphasized to do what worked best for us and our bodies. Our instructer was awesome, great personality, kept the class fun and interesting. Most of us were beginners but he told us to do what we can, dont try to out do the person next to you. We did so much.. butpees, threw a heavy ball up the wall while doing squats, sit ups, pull ups, pull ups on rings, lunges and more. I loved the flow of the glass although there were moments I had to break, I still kept up! This crissfit gym is hidden but is a great place to work out!

I like the fact that Burn is bodyweight exercise, i.e. calisthenics for the most part, with an occasional dumbell, rope or other non-machine device. It's a 45-minute workout with lots of variety and an encouraging coach. "Group exercise" is generally not my thing... I've always been a loner in the gym--weights, running, etc., but this IS a good program to mix things up a bit. All the days I went, there was only ever one guy in there working out with the girls. And the girls are very supportive. Nice, but probably a little TOO girly for my speed, but great for other women who need a strong support system when trying to get fit. The main downside is that it is SO expensive at, I think, $99/month... maybe even more than that? The only way I'd consider actually joining is if I got a great deal. I think they had a Black Friday deal that I missed out on.

I didn't really care for the male trainer. He tends to pick on certain women about their training clothing. I mean come on, the woman is there to get fit, not to be ridiculed. He's also not very pleasant outside of the class when I went to ask him about prices for a full membership. He made no eye contact with me and kinda brushed me off. Maybe he didn't like me? But the female trainer is fantastic and so sweet! I thanked her on the last day of the month trial that I subscribed to! For those interested, Groupon will have good deals on having a month of these classes. It was a great way to get back into the swing of things after having my second child. I've continued some of the things I've learned at the camp in my current gym routine. I wish prices were a bit lower, though. I can't exactly afford over $100/month. Thanks for getting me on track though!

What is this place? I have never heard of it until I stumbled across an ad on Facebook. Initially,…read moreI doubted it because it looked scammish but I went ahead and provided a contact number. The ad stated limited spots so it was a sign that people were signing up and when I clicked on the link, it appeared as if there weren't any left.. However, I was fortunate and received a call back. Again, I was skeptical because FB ads are tricky and that's to the general look of ALL ads I saw on FB. I was contacted a day or so after directly and appointed a time to have a consult. The place was tricky to find but it's tucked away where other warehouses are and sporting facilities. Who knew there was an area back there. Anywho, after consulting and learning about the type of exercise, the time offered, and discussing my goals, I went ahead and signed up. Again, I was very hesitant because I was nervous about group exercises and fearful of appearing unfit or ashamed but I took a leap of faith and said , Yes! Jumping ahead, the people are SO welcoming and the trainers are absolutely supportive and very easy to speak to. Yes, they encouraged me to push hard but it was the kick in the butt I needed. The coaches were never pushy, they were attentive to my limits and personal goals. Lindsay and Sean were who conducted the classes and they both complement each other well in terms of personality and gym environment. Pricing.. yes it can be viewed as expensive but it is not quite different in comparison to the amount you would spend on a personal gym trainer. Now if you're looking for more of a gym such as Crunch or YMCA where you are mainly independent or have a different fitness focus, then you may doubt membership here. This gym is VERY diverse in workouts, uses body exercises, and lifts. Each day offers something different and that is why I absolutely have yet to be bored from it. The workouts are challenging but you are never asked to go beyond your comfortable limits both physically and emotionally. The gym itself is just very fun, cool, and casual. They have a range of equipment from weighted balls to squat racks. If you like the pump, the burn, and sweat I believe you will enjoy the experience. Nutrition advice is offered as well and more independent plans if wished for. The facility has been open for I believe 6 or 7 years now which is a fantastic sign. The vibe is very familyistic and everyone truly is impacting. I would recommend the place to all of my friends and family just to at least give it one day's try. Anywho, I love it!

Stafford location closed with no notice today, and this is managed by Keone Pierce and his co-owner…read moreTom. Keone also is a partner at the Fredericksburg location, Mechanicsville; he and Tom recently opened a brand new location in Louisa, VA. The owners, Keone Pierce and Tom didn't care about the Stafford facility. For weeks we had a broken toilet, the carpets never were cleaned, new inexperienced trainers were added to fill scheduling gaps, and many classes were cancelled last minute with no reason or for some other event that he'd rent this nasty place to. Why did I still go, you ask? The members and the experienced trainers who cared showed up with great energy and we motivated one another. But tonight, we all received an email stating that our facility is closed immediately. No notice, no reason, no mention of a refund, nothing. Someone even drove by the place and saw carpets being pulled up from the facility - an hour after the last workout was done that day. Trainers weren't even notified until five min prior of sending that email to members. Keone Pierce and his co-partner Tom definitely had their plan and waited for the last minute to pull this stunt. The Fredericksburg and Mechanicsville locations have much better facilities with other partners who may actually care and run an effective business (so they say - never seen myself). But with my experience at Stafford, I post this review to caution you when you sign up. If Keone Pierce's name is involved, he only cares about getting your money and not you as a person. He is unprofessional. This is coming from someone who supported him and his business fully, and worked out alongside members who also supported him for years - and we're dropped just like that yesterday evening via email. I'm grateful for one thing. It put me in contact with some awesome people and we'll be moving our fitness journey forward elsewhere.

I'm not done with my trial yet, but even after one week, I've already seen a lot of progress in my body. On day one, I was a little lost. Obviously you have to ease slowly into working out again if your body isn't used to it, but every coach gives you different moderations of the circuit workouts so that you don't hurt yourself. They listen to your needs and prior injuries and health concerns to make sure you're not straining yourself, but still working hard to get that workout done! What's most important to them is that you're moving. You don't have to go too hard if you can't, they're just proud that you even took the step of showing up! There's a different kind of workout each day of the week that concentrates on different sections of the body or the workout technique of the day from cardio to leg day to arm day to athletic training, etc. It is a little pricey for a membership, but if you can squeeze it into your budget, I definitely think it's worth it. You can tell in your every day movements that burn has been helping. I'm breathing better during any other physical activities (like going up the stairs lol you can't tell me that you don't try to hide your breath going up some stairs sometimes. I'm usually winded, but the other day, I CHOSE to go up the stairs instead of the elevator. Who am I??), I'm getting up without grunting, I'm choosing better for my bodily health. It's so nice! And honestly what I needed for this summer. Hope you guys get the chance to check it out!
