What sets Jacob apart is how efficient and effective his training sessions are. I didn't realize that most of my pains were due to poor performance while working out. Jacob has taught me proper body position while lifting plus how to strengthen areas that are weak or need more attention. In a year my body has really transformed due to his training method and how he approaches/customizes every training session. If I had to describe Jacob Byrd in 3 words it would be professional, passionate and knowledgeable. I do appreciate that he's super knowledgeable and aware of the human body. I arrived for my scheduled 7:00 a.m. session with the assigned trainer, only to discover that he had quit. I immediately requested a refund and canceled the personal training services. Although another trainer was later assigned to cover the missed sessions, I requested that all future personal training sessions be canceled in accordance with the contract. Despite this, Crunch continued to withdraw funds from my account for personal training services through August 2025, even though no training was provided. I have been requesting a refund since August 2025, and as of January 2026, I have not received it. I have received no resolution from staff at the Brook Road location, and I am being repeatedly redirected without results. If this matter is not resolved promptly, my next step will be to pursue this issue in small claims court.

Here's my impression after the first week: Signing up for membership was challenging. The price we were quoted over the phone was different than what we were told when we showed up to join. And actually we had an appointment with the membership director and he was on vacation and everyone from membership was gone so one of the front desk attendants gave us a tour. They also gave us a pass to the weekend to make up for the debacle. When we showed up on Saturday we met with someone in membership and that's when the pricing changed because what we were quoted only covered 3 people. So we paid extra for the fourth and our fifth couldn't join because the cost of their membership was too high and she is a student (my daughter). She is 26 so that's why she has to have her own membership. I get it. Also the hot tub and rooftop pool is extra, so be aware. They also have a Recovery area that includes infrared saunas and cold plunge, plus a variety of other equipment. That's an extra charge too, but the first month is free so you can check it out. Other than that miscommunication, it's been pretty seamless. Every staff member I've encountered has been professional and super helpful. Kudos to the center for hiring great people. Any kind of exercise you could possibly want to do is under the roof of acac or at one of their other facilities. The classes and yoga studio is top notch. I've done a few classes and also yoga, signed up for the egym and have used the hot tub, sauna, plunge, etc., and it's all been good. It's only a week in and I feel right at home and motivated to work out every day. I still have so much more to try! I love that I can do something different everyday so I don't get bored. Joining acac costs more but so far it's worth it for us.

The trial period was great, and I really wanted to become a member. The only thing that kept me from joining was .... gas. I live around 30 minutes away from the location and as you already know... making excess drives is not feasible right now. I really like that a person can log themselves to a bag using the Wrap app, keeping a log of their progress per session. It also makes it a lot easier to sign up for a class as well. They are in a very quaint location, but there is limited roadside parking, and you can't park on one side of the building due to it belonging to one of the businesses on the strip. You can park in the location closest to the restaurant that has outdoor seating. Very happy with the upkeep of the restrooms. I'm always going to give a heads up about a bathroom if I go to it, lol. Overall, I would say that you easily burn a minimum of 200 calories, and it is great accountability to stay active.

I turned 70 and found out I can get a reduced membership using Medicare Silver Sneaker. Signed up for the reduced membership and it's working like clockwork. Problem: you can't quit your old membership and have to pay it addition for all of perpetuity. Membership has tried everything to cancel previous membership but it still charges my credit card. Several attempts to talk with someone about why I'm paying for 2 memberships but they use AI and I'm wrong. I served during Vietnam to the Persian Gulf War. A reasonable person would correct this in a heartbeat but there's no upper management at AFF. Join this gym if you need more stress in your life.

Later in the evening I asked to speak to her but she was gone for the day so I asked for another manager, who happened to be Janet! She was eager to have another staff member cancel it for me without even making an attempt to apologize or ask me to reconsider. Before leaving the gym, I asked for Sasha to reach out to me the next day, but when 3:30 pm rolled around I had not heard from her so I called her. She didn't even make an attempt to ask what had happened or why I was so angry that I asked to cancel my membership so quickly. She also knew exactly who I was because she never even asked for my name which means she had gotten the message about reaching out and chose to ignore it. I don't want to bash all the staff as most are very nice and welcoming, but I would have expected more from the club leadership. I would also note that if your considering joining the men's locker room Sauna has not worked for years now and the club leadership doesn't seem to have any plan or intention on fixing it.

Second, if the outside temperature does influence the pool's temperature, then why is it still cold (83 degrees vs 86 degrees)? The shower on the men's side is still closed due to an unsafe and inoperable light fixture. The sauna has been closed for months. And, now the hot tub has an inoperable piece. Maintenance has to be a top priority to keep customers happy. Too many of my swimming buddies are going elsewhere.

The ad stated limited spots so it was a sign that people were signing up and when I clicked on the link, it appeared as if there weren't any left.. However, I was fortunate and received a call back. Again, I was skeptical because FB ads are tricky and that's to the general look of ALL ads I saw on FB. I was contacted a day or so after directly and appointed a time to have a consult. The place was tricky to find but it's tucked away where other warehouses are and sporting facilities. Who knew there was an area back there. Anywho, after consulting and learning about the type of exercise, the time offered, and discussing my goals, I went ahead and signed up. Again, I was very hesitant because I was nervous about group exercises and fearful of appearing unfit or ashamed but I took a leap of faith and said , Yes! Jumping ahead, the people are SO welcoming and the trainers are absolutely supportive and very easy to speak to. Yes, they encouraged me to push hard but it was the kick in the butt I needed. The coaches were never pushy, they were attentive to my limits and personal goals. Lindsay and Sean were who conducted the classes and they both complement each other well in terms of personality and gym environment. Pricing.. yes it can be viewed as expensive but it is not quite different in comparison to the amount you would spend on a personal gym trainer. Now if you're looking for more of a gym such as Crunch or YMCA where you are mainly independent or have a different fitness focus, then you may doubt membership here. This gym is VERY diverse in workouts, uses body exercises, and lifts. Each day offers something different and that is why I absolutely have yet to be bored from it. The workouts are challenging but you are never asked to go beyond your comfortable limits both physically and emotionally. The gym itself is just very fun, cool, and casual. They have a range of equipment from weighted balls to squat racks. If you like the pump, the burn, and sweat I believe you will enjoy the experience. Nutrition advice is offered as well and more independent plans if wished for. The facility has been open for I believe 6 or 7 years now which is a fantastic sign. The vibe is very familyistic and everyone truly is impacting. I would recommend the place to all of my friends and family just to at least give it one day's try. Anywho, I love it!
